It would explain it yes, but still very odd.
I work in Finance and making them different sizes just feels like an unnecessary production cost that could be avoided to me.

Very odd. Im aware that they didn’t get folding mirrors in the US but did in the EU so it can’t be anything to do with that. So are the housings different size or just different moulding inside?
-
I’m still flabbergasted that wing mirrors are different RHD / LHD 🤷🏼♂️

Yeh same, I don’t have another £10k 😢

Thats a thing of the past.
Most manufacturers only change the affected side - they dont sag or droop like they did in the old days
Just as well by the sounds of it

Try this guy on Insta: elvin_6188

That's annoying. We are lured into a false sense of security with the Relax warrant aren't we.
I am also surprised they didn't recommend repalcing both sides at the same time - maybe that is a thing of the past?

Fills me with a little more comfort that a handful of you have been and had this work done 👍🏼

Indeed lots listed there but he clearly bought a car that had been used abused and neglected maintenance wise.

Happy with mine for a while, but if I did move it would be RS6

Might have lost your F, but still have your sense of humour I see lol

Out of interest, what mileage are you each at?

For mapping, you will want to contact "RR Racing" or "Tuned by Loi".
Both are in the US, RR will want your ECU sent to them or you will need to purchase a new ECU from them (tuned) or Loi will send you a handheld gizmo with remotely tune the car via software share.
I have looked into both, but for me, the cost far outweighs the negligible HP gains - each to their own however.

That UK port or Japanese?
Looks great

Sad to see you go buddy, but enjoy the new toy!
@hockeyedwards what are you driving these days? PS I managed to import a set of GSF wheels from Yahoo Japan - cant wait 😄

If your tyres are sound and a good premium brand, I too would look to the diff.
First thing to do which is relatively cheap vs any other potential problem is new oil.
The wrong type could have been used (as mentioned) and or it hasn't been changed in a while.
Speak to Opie Oils if you want to get something really decent put in there.
They supplied me with uprated oil for my old IS200 gearbox and that oil change alone cured juddering at low speed!

Anybody looking to import parts from Yahoo Japan, I have just used a guy to import a set of GSF wheels and have to say he’s been a pleasure to deal with.
DM me for details thus not to advertise.

Car looks awesome and what a top spec too by looks of it.
USB is obviously the fastest colour ;-); facelift DRL lights (a must); the option alloys and RED LEATHER!
Pleased for you! Good luck with the import, hopefully you'll bring to a meet and or show or two in the UK - stay active on the site matey.

It’s a satisfying job to do yourself. The engineering makes it very easy. If your discs are siezed on use the 13mm caliper bolt to screw into the threaded hole on face of the disc to push it off the hub - genius!!

My 2017 GSF has 37,500 miles, on what I believe are the original discs and pads - I bought the car 3.5 years ago at 19,500 miles and then you could feel a considerable wear lip on front discs, so Im pretty sure theyve never been replaced.
2 years and around 10k miles ago, the Lexus dealer reported pads at 4mm, then at 2 mm one year later (1 year ago).. recommending replacement both times. The wear sensor should trigger at 2mm, but still no alert.
2 weeks ago the same dealer gave the brakes a clean bill of health during a major service! I pointed out that the previous year they flagged the front brake pads as an mot advisory item, but was told they were fine on this occasion.
It seems that I have self healing brake pads fitted!!! 😅 The brakes still perform absolutely perfect, so Im leaving them for now.
If you have self healing pads, then I have self healing tyres! haha
I fitted new tyres Feb 2022 (8mm tread).
Aug 2022 the annual service vehicle checklist shows 7,7,7 across all 4 tyres - as you would expect.
Feb 2023 I went in for the fuel tank recall. The health check reported 5,5,2.5 on the fronts and advised me to monitor the inner edge (being 2.5). It was not this low, I measured it at home. The same technician also told me I had "a slight lip on discs" - I had fitted brand new OEM discs just 2 weeks before this report lol.
August 2023, next annual service. Health check reports 5,5,5 for all 4 tyres and "nearly new brakes".
Take the health check with a pinch of salt and do you own checks afterwards. I think in my case the same technician did my 2 annual services and different one did the recall work.
However, seems you DO need discs and pads. My recommendation is OEM discs with Red Stuff pads and reuse the sensors if you get them off carefully - spray and clean before trying to pop them out of the old pads - they do go brittle.
You might also want to purchase new fitting bolts which come in a kit. As @mr2lad said above, go to RockAuto as despite coming from the US you can get this kit (and sensors) for a fraction of the price. Nice new shiny bolts add extra satisfaction to the job 🙂

Please come along and say hi

Hi all, I was invited and accepted to display my car at Go Japan this year which is being hosted at Brands Hatch (Kent).
As such im afraid I won’t be stepping up to organise another meet in Sep any longer.
If anyone local (or not) fancies it, it’s Sunday 24th Sep and general entry tickets are cheaper if bought online in advance.
Ill be in the “individuals” area which if same as last year will be next to the main entrance.

Awesome 😎
Bet you can’t wait to get out and smash it up to 6/7000rpm 👌🏼
I hear you RE the track days. I had such a great day on my first (Bedford) then I fitted the Invidia and can’t go back there 🙈

Yeh that's good. Sidcup insisted on keeping the car all day for "a big job" but I was one of the first to have it done there so they are probably much faster at doing it now. I didn't get fuel either - just an inaccurate health check claiming my brand new brakes (50 miles old) had a lip on them lol [sigh]
