  1. Because im not sure if i will keep that one or get an Orion HCCA! lmao!! :shutit: BTW redz wot sort of rms are u pumpin out at the mo?
  2. Went to Bass Junkies in B'ham yesterday to try to decide upon an install for the IS. Being my first saloon car gettin the sound from a sealed boot is proving to be a challenge - as with any saloon - esp if you were looking to enter in a SPL competition!! Spoke to the chap in the store and a few other ppl and we decided upon a heavy bass system - its not the loudest system in the world but we wanted to get the best out of my budget and the gear available. I initially thought about having 4 10" subs powered by one big amp; this is something i have seen done in a number of saloons where they are facing upwards 2 each side of the wheel arches. The problem with the IS is the very odd shaped boot which does not help with bass transmission - the shape of the boxes required would be very complex. I also wanted to have access to the spare wheel and the satnav drive as well as the tool kit (i might never need to use most of that stuff but you never know!!) So eventually after much debate we decided upon a custom box possibly with a port facing into the cabin through the ski hatch but with the sub either in reverse phase or normally facing. The box should be with me by the end of the week. Having looked at the forums for a while now (thanks to Wozza for his very informative install threads and Redz for some of his advice against a 15" sub lol!) I went for a sinlge 12" sub (which will remain unamed for now????) and a HiFonics Brutus BXi1608D amp which throws out approx 1600wrms @1ohm. The unamed sub is running at just over half power but when i heard it running it sounded good enough and was loud enough to flex some of the panels on the car. I went for a 0awg wiring kit as this is always a good starting point for any high power system - esp if i choose to expand it at a later date. The whole install took around 3-4 hours but if any of you guys were in B'ham yesterday the rain was incredible - i've never seen a whole car get splashed by a bus!!! I'm still running my Pioneer HU and i will in the next few weeks try to get the bass controller looking like it wasnt plonked onto my console!! I'll post sum pics at some point with the whole install setup once my box is in - jus running off a standard box atm. Would love to see what some of you guys going to Bass Junkies have got installed/planned - im not sure i'll be up to some of the stuff you have got done (REDz DAMN YOU!!!!)
  3. Very nice looking car - i think theres a thread on here for an Aristo VIP project looking jus as good but i dont think its done yet . . . . but looks fantastic so far!!
  4. Hi all, I have recently got hold of a set of IS200 headlights from a friend as i am planning to do the whole angel eye/halo conversion as well as spraying the internals black. I thought it wud be a good idea to practice on a spare set so any problems wouldn't leave me with a set of messed up ones. I will be doing the above shortly but i would like to know how much any of you guys would realistically pay for a set that had the internals sprayed black but without the halo kit? (Obv they will still be useable and in good working order.) I know that the standard headlight can go for quite a high price - some of the ones on ebay are circa £100 once bidding is close to ending. So your thoughts are much appreciated as i may well sell on my spare set if the interest is there. Thanks all,
  5. bid in by me - really is a good deal i think, if i can win lol
  6. I'm having my standard alloys sprayed a very similar colour to yours but my IS is Granite sky - i'm hopin to get a smoked type theme by changing the lights n stuff too. But your wheels look very nice and i like the centre cap contrast! Good job!
  7. These things are just crappy resistors arent they? Waste of time. I think the manufacture cost is equivalent to a couple of pence lol! As above; where in Coventry r u? I'm in Courthouse Green - i think theres quite a few of us in Cov now so it would be good to meet up at some point . . . . .
  8. Very nice redz, btw is the bass junkies meet still on? Has there been much interest and if so is the saloon class confirmed and how many ppl are going now?
  9. Have u got any pics of your car in the sunlight when it jus been washed? I'd luv to see the finish of the paintwork a lil closer if poss!
  10. Hi all, I've been in touch with a bodyshop local to me in Coventry to correct some paintwork on my IS before the Bass junkies meet in Wolvo. They are going to give me a quote for the work needed but im also considering having the standard SE 5 spoke alloys sprayed. I was thinking about having them done the same colour as the car (Granite Sky) or possibly Chrome . . . The car itself has no exterior mods apart from an sports grille and a standard spoiler so i would really appreciate some ideas of what colour i could go for . . . If any of you guys have pics of what you have done to your own standard wheels it would really help . . .. Thanks,
