  1. I’m guessing this is good news for residuals… If they considered doing a swan song LCF … I would be tempted.
  2. Excessive moisture could be as simple as leaves being stuck in your vents. Admittedly I don’t have an ES but often it’s under the bonnet where it meets the windscreen. Give the vents a good clean outside the car. Used to be an issue in my Merc and GS as I used to park under trees. Hopefully that helps.
  3. You’re note a retired dentist are you?😂
  4. Fingers crossed. Do you actually want it back though? Notwithstanding the hope that the scumbags who stole it get what’s coming to them…
  5. This time, it’s from throttle house. What a lovely interior and exterior combo. Hard not to smile.
  6. I think you respond saying, “good news, I’ve found you a solution. Encrypt the messages flowing across the canbus, and update any control modules it’s talking to. when can you book me in for a fix?”
  7. This won’t save you from a canbus attack. Once they access the wheel arch, with a £10 widely available device, they can basically talk to the brains of your car and tell it do what they want… control all systems, locked, deadlocked, without key, it simply does not matter. The flaw in the system is that bad. Hence the outrage on many of these forums. It’s recall worthy. Especially as the root cause, in my opinion, is negligent design that is inherently flawed. For the RX, at least they are passively offering some physical deterrents, which is a small step in the right direction albeit it too slow and passive, especially for a customers possession that could cost ££££. And to my knowledge nothing exists for LCs or NXs…
  8. I’ve just asked for some advice for the LC500. I’m guessing they too can be gone in second seconds. Let’s see if they make the directors cut.
  9. So sorry to hear. I’m guessing the you won’t be replacing it with a Lexus.
  10. I’m not convinced they are putting enough pressure on Lexus. All rather passive.
  11. Similar observations on this thread… and many others… https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist-canada/1356390-porsches-not-being-stolen.html# Even on a Porsches not being stolen thread, Lexus’ get a good mention (along with Land Rovers). Very sad.
  12. UK - 35mpg easily on a run. On my usual runs to the super market / town driving low teens. The way the engine ticks over at high speed is something really special.
  13. You recall the great fuel latch recall during 2019? Savage stuff. It was up there with finding an alloy wheel refurbishing centre that can do chrome wheels justice. The worst experience I’ve had thus far is condensation in the rear camera, made worse by the dealer not having the Nespresso pods I normally like when they swapped it out. Not sure it’s forum worthy. As you say, a good sign. Stay tuned, as when 2030 (when my extended warranty will expire) comes by, I’ll mod mine with quad exhausts and a slightly revised defuser (cosmetic only). But until then, expect road trip photos…
  14. I’ve got a confession. I’m doing the NC500 in mine next year with a car club. Can’t wait. And it will be one of MANY road trips. Like the Nori example, Sonic Red also goes through a metamorphosis (not used that word in a while) in direct sun light. I want more miles one mine. It needs to be imprinted on more retinas. I owe it to the public. Deep down I pray (to the car gods) I never need a respray.
  15. I’m on the camp of it being a pain and worried about scuffs, not to mention the added weight / heft to carry in my relatively small boot (LC). The right answer is a software fix. Or hardware fix. Else as others have mentioned, insurance premiums will continue to sky rocket, customers will be turned off.
  16. Lexus main dealer fitted it for me and said it was good. Not sure how you’d get hold of OEM 🤔 Good luck. It’s been covered in another thread, but a willing thief will just make a single cut in your steering wheel and slide it off. Sadly, this is common practice. You may want to use a full steering dish style lock to prevent hacksaw to the steering wheel itself. Lexus need to perform a software fix on this, ASAP.
  17. Adding in another photo… Starbucks this time
  18. For what it’s worth… I like the alloys! Don’t pay 10k plus for a new set…, check out this site. It is where I would buy a new set from. Even with import fees it would be cheaper. I don’t see the new style on yet but give it time. If anything you will have a new set for 2-3k and you can use your current as winter tyres or sell on. https://www.jauce.com/search/Lc500+wheel
  19. Audio from a cable works best. You are right. You need to set the fader back AND turn off surround sound too. Once done I actually think it’s back to being ML how I remember it on my GS and IS which were both great.
  20. My insurance renewal was very similar, 500 last year and circa 1k this year with absolute zero change in circumstances.
  21. Ones that would tempt me…. on the used market: - Mercedes AMG GT - the new one just announced, after a year or 2 of depreciation or a relatively new ish current Gen AMG GTC or S (with the widescreen infotainment) - 992 911 Carrera S (after some depreciation, the GTS may be a better new proposition but I don’t think it’s worth the delta on the second hand market). - DB12/11, again after some serious deprecation very new still, like the AMG. DB11s if you can get past the interior. I think the exterior looks lovely. - Ferrari Portofino - always liked the idea of owning a Ferrari. Be keen to hear what others think.
  22. Definitely too small for a marathon bar too. I’m sure they will sell a duster and pipe cleaner to get behind that.
  23. I’m going to show you a great video of the 2024LC. Take a look at the gap between the steering wheel and main infotainment screen. Just about enough room to store a Mars bar for those long drives. What were they thinking! Not cohesive in my opinion… just lazy!
