that won`t fool the gas analyser at a uk mot station and don`t forget if you have to take part in a mot roadside check and fail it is no defence to have a current mot certificate, cave, gds :) :) :o :o
zee. the brute force technique worked, main beam is sylvania 9005 hb3u (e1)22n 12v60w, dipped beam is sylvania 9006 hb4u (e1)22p 12v51w. anyone know a source in the uk, many thanks, gds :) :)
supercharged or not mileage is about fuel burnt which is about gas created, in any case, the question was about an is200. if the toyota cat spec is up to mb the life should be 100k miles but why not ask toyota/lexus, cheers, gds :) :)
the life of all cats is mileage not age dependent under average driving conditions, eg the original cat on a merc is good for 100k miles in the uk. cheers gds :) :)
:) :) :) :) altezzaz, brilliant, worked exactly as per your instructions, what next there are now two bolt heads exposed, one on each side of the ac controls. sorry be a pain but all this diy is a foreign country to me. many thanks, gds
altezzaz, i have tried to lift the felt at the top of the console to the point when i feel damage will be done. what are the positions of the clips holding the felt covered board of the top tray???? appreciate your help, :) :) gds
hello. it is possible to buy a good radio/cd unit for under £300, however, has anyone removed the old unit from an altezza-z console without wrecking it, if so, i think you will make a lot of friends if you tell all, cheers, gds
<_< hello, although i have not yet had to replace any of the lamps on my 1999 build altezza-z, i have tried to remove those of the headlamps but without success. there is a small clip on the lamp holder which i think should release the lamp but applying reasonable force does not work, is there a trick???
help gds
<_< well none of the tips to clear the cd jam work on my 1999 build atezza z and does anyone know what "err 3" means. my handbook is in japanese and unfortunately do not know anyone who can translate this into english. however i must say that the drawings are excellent for explaining a great deal of the script.cheers, gds
now comes the tricky part, how do you get to the back of the radio it all seems a seamless part of the cosole and now the cd has jammed and none of the tips given elsewhere work.
to all, here`s how you check it out, open your key, one small cross head screw, remove the chip and battery container and see if the mechanical key will start the car. i am told that the container can be sensed if in the car so to be sure it is nowhere near.
cheers, :)
fidqits, congratulations, the first to accept that the driver often has the solution to better tyre performance in his own hands[and right foot]
correct tyre pressures also plays a part!!!but of course none of this applies to lexus drivers.
batch says he does not have the electronic system which prevents his mechanical key from starting the car, its the ignition you know!! though not crystal clear he sacrificed the toyota immobilser for an alarm.
cheers, :duh:
here is the latest on my key problem, clever old toyota have linked the physical key electronically to the car, so unless the immobiliser is immobilised a physical will not start the car. so to produce a second key, the kit to read the cars immobiliser and then to program the chip in the key must be used. the code is changed every time the car is started. toyota say uk lexus dealers are not equipped, don`t loose your only key ;)
my local lexus dealer in southampton does not want to know about getting me a spare key for my 1999 manufactured personal import a 2 litre altezza. can anyone help, thanks gds
