hello, anyone having cd player problems should go to US FORUM for e300 and read the gen from subsciber PIONEERSUBY you will then be able to ask your lexus dealer some good questions, cheers gds :) :)

hello all with cd problems, if you have not done so i suggest you look in the US Forum for e300 and find contributer PIONEERSUBY where you will find some very interesting info about the quality of the cd units fitted by lexus. replacing one made by fujitsu with one NOT made by pioneer is not much good. this guy is someone with the facts pity he is so far away, cheers, gds

:) :) thanks fluff, will try my local maplins next week if i get a new cable i will want to checkout the unit on the bench. do you have any information about the function of the pins in the sockets at the back, speakers,power etc. seem to remember a post months ago but can`t find it, cheers, gds

:) :) many thanks alteza & fluff, the tip about removing the fascia great. have now dismantled the unit. made notes of the sequence of removal and the screw type. discovered the problem, a previous owner had damaged the ribbon cable connecting two of the circuit boards. now the problem is finding a replacement cable in the uk. may end up writing to fujitsu ten in japan, cheers, gds

all lead acid batteries have a vent per cell for the hydrogen gas to escape. i think you should talk to someone before you do some damage or you trying to wind us up :mat: :mat:

hello. go to your local battery wholesaler see yellow pages, ask for a varta 60ah for your is200 price including vat under £50.00 . see other posts how to remove your old battery and charge it outside your car and see the vent of each cell is loose. if your battery is just flat and your charger is ok it will indicate when the battery is charged, should take about 24 hours with a domestic trickle charger. good luck, gds

hello all, many thanks for your helpful notes. my fault for not being more soecific but i have no problem with removing the battery or putting it back. the question for those who have changed the battery for one of increased capacity, bearing in mind the size restrictions, which make and type of battery did you get? are you satisfied with the performance? how much did you pay and where did you buy it, your help much appreciated, cheers, gds

well i knew the small battery had a small capacity but leaving the boot open overnight flattened it, so i want to replace it with a recommended higher capacity one. what is the word from you gents experienced in these matters, thanks, gds

pity you did not trawl 2003 post, 2nd july my post "exploding ignition coil" reported similar event, my local toyota specialist diagnosed it without fancy electronics, jusr listening to the engine told him "three not four cylinders" removing the lid told the rest. i hope you did not pay for the dealers` useless report, cheers, gds
