  1. Thanks for the replies gents. Steve, I accept your offer of £1136. I'm on the way to your house now. Get the coffee on.
  2. "Perhaps get a valuation online" Do you mean We buy any car? As for photos, I'm a 77yr old technophobe. Anything after daguerreotypes are a mystery to me 😃
  3. The chance of buying an immaculate GS450H SE-L has just come up, so I need to sell my car - having recently splashed out on a new Aircon compressor, Damn & Grrr. I have no idea how much to ask, so would appreciate any guidance. Many thanks
  4. I just posted on another thread regarding this problem. I just ordered a valve from Lexus, Chester - £110.
  5. One of my tyre valves snapped recently. I just ordered one from Lexus, Chester - £110 Ouch!!
  6. I'm sure I read on here somewhere that a kit is available to do it.
  7. Just going through the same process on my current GS300 (2006). Rear exhaust + gaskets, springs, bolts and chrome tips came to £517 from Lexus Parts Direct, Swindon (free delivery). This was around £100 cheaper than the quote I got from the local main dealer. I was tempted to go down the stainless steel route again, but I need quiet in my dotage.
  8. George, like you I prefer quiet. Having said that, although the stainless steel exhausts I had fitted were slightly noisier I'd still go for them in future.
  9. I replaced original exhausts on both a BMW 735 and my last GS300 with custom-made stainless steel and in both cases the ss ones had a higher, tinnier sound ...and yes, I know they quieten down a bit after they get a carbon coating. Before I made the change I asked the Longlife guy about extra noise and he said that ss will always be noisier than mild steel. I still went with ss due to cost issues.
  10. Might also be worth trying:- http://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/ Stainless steel definitely won't be as quiet as OEM
  11. You could get a whole (from the cat back) custom-built stainless steel exhaust for around that price. I used Longlife on my last GS300 and they did a great job http://www.longlife.co.uk
  12. Exactly the same thing happened on my GS300 just after I'd bought it. Lexus quoted me over £600 for a new alternator, but I got the old one reconditioned for less than half that. Your £100 + labour looks like a good deal.
  13. This 12 year warranty; does the car have to have a full Lexus service history, and is it transferable to another owner?
