thanks wozza; i have been looking at the links - they are great; i have also been looking at the prices on fitting at my local area. so far i have been quoted £60 + parts - have been checking out all my options - we have to wait and see what i decide. thanks once again.

right doing the unit myself - well from the information i have been told - 1 the amp has to be bypassed (behind the glove box) 2 need a facia 3 need a device ?(box) that will allow me to bypasas the amp. the rest i have to look into and see what i can fisnd out and do; - thank you for the information so far.......

hay - gust saw a guy doing a BMW; asked him on the prices - £50.00 each.....not bad if you have new tyres, and the BMW was almost done he was just cleanning them. not bad job - i wander how long they will last? Another thing - Why dose'nt /did'nt LEXUS put the car on troyers well some sort of wheels and then work on the car, other idea work on the other locks ie doors, boot etc on the road,well where the car is at the Mo.

Right - I think you all need a update, so:- 1 On Friday 13th the car should of been done - :tsktsk: BUT delay on the master Key. At last keys Div On Monday; 2 On Monday car was promised to be done - :tsktsk: BUT they were busy so pushed to Tuesday. in hope should be done Tuesday afternoon. 3 Now Just got a call from Lexus Edgware Road :tsktsk: SORRY the key that was ordered dose not work, they can not move the car into the garage to work on. Was informed they do not have any information on their system that the engine key been changed, that’s the same here..... 4 So they will have to break the stering lock and replace it again (IF MORE THEN SAY YES) now, in hope the car will be done and i have the "YES"word on / by Tuesday. The same question is going into my head again, what if i have to buy a new car, in the middle of all the mess the country is in at the mo, high loan rate; high petrol prices; etc.... :tsktsk: talk about BAD LUCK !! - first my Dad dies on Monday 26th May; My wife looses a £200.00 watch at my Mum's House; the Keys & wallet gets nicked...

Some News: "MORE THEN" Engineer have approved the re-fit of new Lexus keys...at the cost of £2000.00 The cost will be paid by me - and MORE THEN will pay me back. my Insurance is due in July 2008 - I am fully com, with protection on the policy - will i have to pay more?? The plan - 1 Keys & car will be ready on Friday 13th;(Dam Unlucky). 2 Book car in a body shop for repair on rust/dents - (been Approved by MORE THEN 3 MTHS ago) 3 Get some new alloys 4 replace the CD player with a new system. The car should be good as new - and will be cheaper then buying a new Lexus. :winky:

i now 11K is a lot of money; i am thinking about things that may go wrong with the car in the future - the car has 103k on the clock; a problem on the back wheel breaking system. the alloys need changing as well all been eating away. the car is due to have a new body check-up and finish due to a young "L" driver smashing into me, 3 mths ago from the back. so i have to look at all these facters before deciding.

Right - its getting harder to choose now; from the information so far all say "buy a new car" - still waiting for contact details of companies and locations so i can get the Cars system re-programed. thx

okay guys / girlis lets way-up the cost.. car keys £2100.00 + £200 Insu Free. servicing / MOT / Car Insu / road Tax - all due in july - lets say £1000.00. so in total £3000.00 cost to have my Old car back on the road. if i part - exchange with a new IS250 i think i should get 2K-3K for my car - that will leave me with a total to pay for a new car £11,000 okay i will be paying a lot in the long run; but as my car gets older they will be more problems on its way. what do you think?

hello Guys; :winky: i been having some realy bad luck - no more spare keys. my keys & wallet got storlen yesterday, and i have been talking to the car Ins; MORE-THEN. they informed me i can get the keys done from an Lexus Dealer ship. the question is what shell i do? the car LEXUS IS200 SE 'T' 1999 - from my information value of the car is £3,500 too £5,000. Cost of the new Key system £2184.00 - if MORE THEN say NO! too much. Pay the amout my self? Or part exchange the car with a New LEXUS? Go to another Dealer or another Garage / Car Electronics. your advice is needed. Thx

:winky: hello Guys/Girls - its been a long while; hope all are well and enjoying there cars......... i have a question - i need to repleace my rear Brake Pads and Disc; my Garage has quoted me £185.00 for 2 wheels; 25.00 for the pads and 130.00 for 2 disc's - what do you think; i know they are a lot of feds on DIY....but not so good on that sort of thing. would you use Lexus make Disc's or can we use others? your help would be greatful. be safe - :winky:

Hi - Guys & Girl’s; :) Its been a long time since I got one line to LOC - I missed you lot........Lexus lovers; i have been with my Lexus for almost 5 year's now - its coming to its 100k service soon and i have loved every second....love to change / upgrade - but family comes first; - Now i think i should come to the point - well my Engine light keeps coming up. been to check the car, results as follows - Lexus - need a new exhaust My Local Garage - he resets it, and its fine - until i over rev the engine too 4000-5000 revs.... Also - it has passed the MOT - while the problem. any ideas???? Thanks for your help -

hay guys; my engine light come on again (odd) , it's odd coz the problem must not be the CAT but the sensor's - due to passing the MOT. - another problem - the handbreak light not turning off. - the Radio/Cd stoped working took all my CD's and got the "EER3" - and no i missed the 5 years..... was thinking coz my LEXI is getting old - more problems will come out from the woodwork.........options - 1 repair the problems and carry on, & hope for the best - 2 part exchange my LEXI for another new one. some times this is the best option....but need help to make my choice. please help and give me some advise.... :winky:

Update – Be surprised – :o Took Lexi to my local car garage; gave him some of the information…… 1 – Need MOT 2 – Please check breaks (was told needs replacing) 3 – Have a look at the CAT (he knows about the Engine light been on) I got the car the same day, that’s fine BUT one big difference, jobs that needed doing before the MOT compared from the information from LEXUS Dealer. 1 – Break pads & Disc’s changed (for front wheel) correct 2 – Nothing wrong with the CAT ? (very odd LEXUS informed me needs new one – and will not pass MOT!) 3 – MOT passed with no problems. I am a bit confused why did LEXUS dealer asked me to change the CAT @ £900.00!!! – I have been driving the Lexi for over a week and the Engine light has not come on once (hope it stays that way). If anyone has any ideas why, please post info.

thanks Guys; after putting the post on the system, i use the WEB :mat: found a breakers web-site saleing used CAT's from 80 - £110.... But that's for a normal one. was talking to my Bro (Subaru Impressor) get a second look - done that - result might be some-thing else. i dont know the lingo but "the 1 or 2 elec parts that go into the CAT might be gone" well i know one thing it needs a GOOD look.... going to get the MOT and other bits done soon & going to see the real problem after that.....and see if i need an new CAT or not. ;)

Hello Guy's - Car Lexus IS200 SE @ 90K - 1999 (T) Just got my Lexi a 90K service, the price was not bad for what it is (180.00). :) I was happy untile they phoned me up - informing me whats needed. 1 new break pads (not so bad) 2 new shocks needed (not bad again) here it comes the bomb shell - :tsktsk: 3 a new Catalsyt, runing on band 1 - @ £900.00 YES you are reading this right its £900.00 - i dont know much about cars and its parts, i think that's a lot. The way i see it, after thinking about......is 1 get a cheaper quote else where. 2 trade it in with an other newer Lexus - ( well its is getting older ) the main reson for this post is - i need help decideing what to do. please vote (1 or 2) or other. Please help me choose........... :winky:

(wife in Hospital stressed). anyway - started to get quotes on Goodyears Eagles F1 - same as i always get - good alrounder and last long. Tryed to pull my self away and go for others but nothing got me. Eagle F1 - £445.86 too 490.00 also thought about getting some new alloys with tyres, but hard to find some that cost around 350-400 for all 4. those budject ones 60.00 to 90.00 each still come round to 300 too 350 thought i might as well stick to Eagles... then a mates freind offered me £340.00 for all 4! (New) have ordered these. what do you think on the price - it seems they will inc fitting, have to see. hoping!!!

Hay - I going to book my car for its 80k Service as well, i also getting prices from 480-550 mainly its over 500. just a question, if i may - Dose anyone know what the 80K Service carry out? a breakdown of the duties they do/whats needed to do........ you know what i mean.....i would be greatful for the info/ thanks
