  2. at a lexus main dealer £850 inc waterpump and full (60k)service - approx £580 without 60k service or less depending on your haggling ability - or cheaper by an independant garage
  3. hello mate - this might give you a clue HERE -
  4. it might be worth a quick look in the boot just to check the spare wheel and jack are secured tightly-the jack in particular
  5. have a look at the sub install HERE or search for member redz with mb quart install - depends how far you want to go with it but many top end ice installers say the lex is best ported through empty rear parcel shelf speaker holes once oem speakers removed with upgraded front door spkrs etc
  6. oops silly me ! - i didnt realise igniters were the same as coil packs - duh !!! - must be loads of duff coilpacks sitting in garages taking up space
  7. if you have any doubts about the car at this early stage i would suggest you check its service history and see when the diff oil etc was last changed - if in doubt claim under warranty to have the work done or get it checked by a main dealer at least - also you dont say if your car is auto or manual - if its auto i would think you have a problem there as the smoothness and imperceptibility of gearchanges are one of the highlights of lexus autos
  8. on gearstick base bezel type place on mine - all lit up in pretty colours
  9. yup mortgage ,petrol and food always first - it should light up around the gear selector so you could have a bulb gone in there-the whole surround pops up really easy if you carefully lift up the chrome surround at the point where your left knee usually sits
  10. i cant remember if it has a barcode but ill check in the mornin 4 u - im pretty sure it has the mileage the belt was changed at handwritten on it somewhere - i think mines a white or silver sticker

  13. sorry mate cant help as only have a 200 - the forums a bit quiet maybe at the moment due to a recent refurb-people still finding their way about-im sure someone with a bit of know how will chip in before too long
  14. well done bruce-perseverence pays off- i thought you,d been quiet lately i mistakenly thought you must be busy fitting coilovers or similar
  15. welcome grasshopper - your posts detail very eloquently the thrill of a new car - well done and welcome - may your health and your car last you ages
  16. bf03 would it be too rude to ask what kinda money you gave for that ?
  17. how did you get on ? failing any repair if you get as far as replacing the units i would have a look at finding a pair of later spec projector/hid units which i baelieve go in with a little bit of work and would bring it up to modern spec-lightwise - you will need to research how hard this is to do as i dont really know but the lights themselves shouldnt be too hard to source from a breakers yard
  18. check -"japparts" &" lexuspartsdirect " you might find they do the steering rack/s at a better price for qood quality parts
  19. have you tried pm,ing the members on the thread linked to see how they cured it ?
  20. thats nasty-would it be possible to suck some oil out the dipstick with a cheap transfer pump or does that risk damaging anything ?
  21. there was one on autotrader for ages with 280,000 miles on it for ages-cant believe anyone would make up that kinda stellar mileage-wanted about £2250 for it if my memory serves me right

  23. cambelt is every 60,000 miles or six years-worth checking your book-if its been done by a main dealer it will have a sticker on top of the cambelt cover itself usually-apart from that its all good-
  24. the shield thing at the back of the disc gets put out of shape quite easy if lent on a little bit - would make a twangy kind of noise - i could be wrong as not a mechanic
