  2. yer i bet, i think the 1st white car looks like a lexus may be a 220d !!!!!!
  3. just come across this on youtube, would'nt have liked to be on the bus !!!!!
  4. hi guys, just for the hell of it, though it may be interesting for every one to post if they have snow, and upload photo's of there lexus in the snow and/or having fun in the snow with there car, RWD and all that !!!!
  5. ok thanks mike, we are due sum snow later this week down in the southeast, hope it will give me any idea on how the car will handle will go from there, if i do end up getting them and using them will post how good/bad they are safe driving to everyone if we do get the snow !!!!!!
  6. has any one used the snow socks or know any one that has ? if so are they any good ? i have spent the past few hours looking on youtube at them and they seem to work but can only find videos of the companys that are selling them there are a few reviews online about them but again they are big companys selling them, dont want to go spending £60 odd on them and they are rubbish but at the same time i have'nt had a rwd car in the snow only fwd and 4wd and i dont want to end up putting my much loved is300 into a kerb or the back of sum one eles !!! thanks.
  7. be careful buying them from ebay, as alot of them are universal fitting and end up having to have the hangers welded on to them which means extra cost may sound silly but check out there feedback to see if others have had issues with there exhusts, i did this a few years back and had a nightmare getting it fitted, because i didnt check if others had issues my girlfriends dad has a gs300 and was under there the other weekend fixing the exhust and i noticed that the back boxs are only short so if you are going to go down this road make sure you measure the size from the joint to the tip of the tall pipe to see if they will fit, also check that the joint fittings are the same, if you manage to find one that fits could you forward me the link as his back boxes are on the way out as well thanks hope this helps.
  8. ok thanks, do you know if theres any guides on the forums for the throttle body like how to take them off (not so hard) but putting them back together thanks.
  9. so MOT day no issues thank god for that, but the whistling comes and goes and did it when the guy was doing the MOT so talking to him after he give me the good news of passing, he said it could be one of two things more likly to be an air leak from one of the vac pipes, or the butterfly in side the carburetor sticking open a small amount allowing the air to whistle around it is this possable i think i will go looking for the air leak again 3rd time lucky as they say
  10. i looked into doing this on my girlfriends dads gs300 due to the same issues, after hours of looking on the web and not coming up with alot i called one of the big alloy wheel dealers, the only thing they said that you had to make sure you do is keep the rolling road size of the wheel and tyre the same, so for smaller wheels bigger profile tyres for bigger wheels lower profile tyres. because if you dont you will have issues with cornering, mpg, breaking, and if you have an auto gearbox the ratios are set for the best performance with the size of wheels. hope this helps.
  11. as long as you get one that has been looked after you wont be unhappy, i was'nt and still ant
  12. yer i did check the pipes yesterday as you said, though i would double check them again before going to get some easystart this morning, before checking them i started the car as i did yesterday afternoon let it idle for around 5 minites let the choke come off, rev a little no whistling left it again for a few more minites did the same again still no whistling, held the rev's at 3000 still nothing went for short drive to see if it would do it under load still nothing, :D dont get me wrong its a good thing but would like to know what it was, MOT is on friday so if anything is wrong am sure they will pick it up when doing the emissions test :shutit: thanks for your help steve ;) will let you how i get on friday tony.
  13. lol, just dont do it on the 5th november they may not show up if needed !!!!!!!!!! :winky:
  14. i see know one has posted here for a few months so i though i would just done the age thing am 26, running an is300 on a 51 plate 7 years NCB how comes i still have to pay just over £800 for 3rd party fire and theft have owned my IS for around 5-6 months now it is worth it tho
  15. just a quick post took my is300 for its mot yesterday, passed with flying colours, no advisory am well happy though it was going to be an expensive day.
  16. thanks steve just been out and made sure all bolt on intake are done up and all vacuum pipes are on as they should be, started the car and no nosie left it running idle for 5 minites still no nosie rev it a little as soon as i touched the throttle it started again ??????
  17. hi again am in need of some more help please, :) after the fixing of the exhust gasket the engine has now got an high pitch whistling sound, which i think is coming from the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR if not then very near to this because when push down or tap it the sound changes tone ???? has anyone had this before if so how did you fix it please also does anyone know why this would start after fixing the exhust many thanks
  18. exhaust fixed ;) well almost just the join n/s back box to look at seem to have sum water/condensation dripping from it only a small amount tho, this ended up being one of them jobs that you think will only take 30-60 minites !!!! no try 4.5 hours because the last owner or may be the one before that new the gasket was in need of replacing instead of doing what i just have and probable every one else that has a gs300 and spend £11 plus an hour's work, :iraqi-info-minister: no they spent £40+ getting it welded by a cowboy that didnt do the whole thing only the side bits where the bolts go but they also welded the dam bolts, :megaangry: so out came the angle grinder not the easyist of jobs i must say but got there in the end after a few choice words ok more than a few . thanks again to every one that helped, :winky: i seem to have a new issue which i will start a new post for tony.
