  1. RRG generally get very favourable reviews here. Stockport, Bradford and Bolton are good. Whenever I've been to Manchester they have also been good.

The photographic evidence you mention is for Lexus UK to do their own checks as they pay the dealership for any work carried out. Therefore, a dealer could technically just vouch for any customer damage ie a smashed side mirror to fork out extra money from Lexus UK which is why they ask for it. Not the dealers fault on that one.

  2. Yep does look good but I also prefer the F sport. I'm not too fussed on the Premier kit as it just annoyed me. Too many bing's and flashing lights with RCTA and BSM. I find they distract me more

The ML needs tweaking a lot. I tend to leave mid where it is and stick both bass and treble up. Others have suggested moving the balance more towards the rear so it sounds natural. Some sources such as USB also sound better than others

I'm not too fussed about the exhausts. Just something extra to polish! Much easier to dress the plastic diffuser

My RX lights are all warm apart from the reading lights which I prefer. It feels more comforting imo with warm lights

  3. Yes i agree it is a strange one we also had a RX 300 in the past which was a very refined car, only problem was the swerving every time you passed a filling station. As i have said before the Nx is a really nice well put together car as you would expect from Lexus but we are not imagining this hill problem it is there and after nine months of ownership we would know.

Simple answer is that issue apart the Nx is great, so its weather you can live with it?

I guess it depends where you live. London or Manchester might not be a bad place for the NX300h as hills are few and far between. Yorkshire on the other hand is a different story!

I guess many people only find out when they have bought the car already as most dont tend to go on hills on test drives.

I don't know. I've driven the NX300H and a lot of other cars including the CT. I had no issues with the CT going up the hill, or my previous RX300 or even my RX450H. The IS300H is fine too. The NX300h is an odd one, it has to rev alot to get up a hill. I was literally flooring it and it just gets tiring. Reminds me of my son's friends Fiat 500 which has trouble getting up a hill. Recently been sorted with software change.

  5. Hmm come to think of it, my 2004 RX300 had no trouble getting up hills and it only had 201 hp. However, it did go to a lower gear on hills to help pull the car up.

With CVTs there's no gradient sensor so you have to modulate using the accelerator pedal whereas in my RX300 it'd automatically go to a lower gear if it thought the car wasn't going to get up

  6. 3 years on the same rubbers? They tend to go hard over winter and start to make noise even if they don't split - go on treat yourself to a new pair.

Yep. Still as day one. My car is garaged though :). No noises yet. Mine are actually over 3 years old now. Probably change them when they start wearing out

  7. The VAT part is irrelevant. If the RC was sort after the used price would be more than new given the short supply, like with an F-type jag or RR Sport when it was only 6 months old.

Exactly my point! F-type Jag's and RR Sport's hold their value very well for how much they cost to buy in the first place, as does the M4 to an extent. The RC-F has taken a pretty big hit even though there are only 200 destined for the UK in the first year. There are 30 or so on the Lexus used website which only leaves another 170 left, some of which are probably in the showrooms and some of which are unsold.

  8. It only take a couple of days to actual manufacture the thing but normally take a couple of months to arrive, based on feedback from people ordering new vehicles on these forums. I guess it depends how luckily you are with timing for a slot on a boat.

Dealer told me it was already on the boat when they were looking for stock but no one had ordered it so they bought it.

UPDATE - Dealer phoned me today as I asked why it wasnt in the brochure. Turns out the car has a custom interior and is not going to be available in the UK. Somehow this one just ended up here but no idea who's it is LOL.

  9. I'm assuming this became an option in April along with the other revisions to the range. Did it still have the F Sport black roof lining?

Lexus are useless; their press pack, brochure and online configurator don't list this as an option.

Yep you can see it on the 2nd picture on the a pillar.

It wasn't available in April. Apparently this is the first one in the UK in this colour combo. I noticed the tyres were Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and not Bridgestones

  10. I can see your point of view and on a car at that cost then yes, on a cheaper car it could be ok and you could actually save money. Trouble is these days they offer better deposit contributions on finance sometimes and cash customers miss out a bit unfair. Luckily Toyota now I'm not if Lexus comes under this but they are one of the better mainstream brands for holding value.

That's why I said before, the cheapest way to own a car is to get the finance contribution and then pay it all off after 14 days.

With the finance contribution, it only works out cheaper if you have 0% finance, otherwise you'd get a £1k discount and get charged £3k interest so then youre worse off by £2k

  11. Is it really a lack of power? I have an IS300h, which I appreciate is different and weighs less, but power is not an issue, are you referring to the CVT gearbox screaming when any power is needed, giving the illusion? I find the IS surprisingly swift, particularly if driven around the gearbox to keep revs down, it is so refined it feels a lot slower than it is.

Trust me its power lol. It just doesnt want to go up the hills! You have to be at halfway on the power band to get any real go

  12. Only pulling your leg m8 ... couldn't resist it, life would be pointless without a little humour don't you think ...;-)

Could try it with heat proof gloves but then you wouldn't know if it's hot would you? Lol

I know a guy who tried feeling the heat from a stuck caliper on his cheek. Got his face stuck to the wheel and a permanent Audi logo on his face lmao

  13. If only they would release the 350 here!

Id prefer an IS350 though! Appears that the RC200t is coming to the UK along with the RC300h. There'll be too much of a gap between the RC200t and the RC-F though. Lexus needs something in the UK which bridges the gap a little bit.

Yes I agree an IS350 ( or a drive train that would given the similar performance ) would be ideal. An IS450h would have been perfect!

I guess the IS200T wont be too bad! 7s is OK and with similiar torque to the IS350 it should feel faster! Im just wondering how an RC200T will feel. Hopefully it wont be too much weight for the 4 pot to handle.

  14. Well that is true about the 4 potters. But try a 530d or 535d 6 pot...and like I say it's the driveability of those diesels (especially from BMW and Audi) that really make them good to drive. Even at about 4000RPM you are going so blooming' quickly it's scary.

But if you want a H, then Lexus is still the way to go.

But then they compete with the 450h which blows them away with its handing and powerrr!
