yes I have had that dump valve kind of noise. I know what you mean.

I was trying to figure out what it was' sounds cool though. its not loud no where near as a real dump valve on a turbo engine.

I always notice it in the evenings when the temp is cooler and the engine is hot.

it always happens when driving gently in mid rang up to 4k rpm using e shift controls.

not sure what is though -

off topic with noby76, talking about 530d, I am playing with E46 m3's getting infront always. we have an E90 330d m sport in the family and gave it a run. it cant stand well with the is300 in no angle. . IS300 is a undercover beast. not many know its capabilities. its a superb cruiser with hard reliability & the quietest engine I have owned with 215 bhp. and it certainly goes a lot more quicker than the book figures..

I never knew this until I owned one for 2 years.. for the value I would say the best motors out there. it certainly fixes up the big headed german owners!

its possible I think, but a lot of headache. . it wont drive no where near like is300.

get an is300. job done.

yes . the better I have found was lucas fuel treatment.

no harm in using forte treatment, its good.

the best treatment for fuel i would say, that I have found & felt was using the best fuel out there eg shell v power nitro.

at 7 years yes, you done really well.. wear & tear.

I couldn't have gone over 3 years! always burning clutches out.

its why now for the last 9 years been on auto trans -

clutch plate snapped off ? you been downshifting hard or doing burnouts lexusloon ?

guess it was wear & tear then without clutch slippage.

I assume you got the wiring loom of 2jz as the 4g engine loom is different inc air con.

4.2 litres with oil filter change is optimum.

you oil level is ok.. you say the fuel is fresh and fine. have you checked the timing yet ?

that's a good price for an original pump. but your after an Is300 pump.

the fitting is different from an is200. you need one for an Is300 or gs300.

thrust bearing normally would make a little rattle when its broken or pedal be stiff like you said.

that's the worst case if not the slave cylinder. gearbox out then. hope you get it sorted bud -

check your oil level. its either way too low or high.

and the above I mentioned ^

depends on what kind of noise you got. hard to say without hearing it.

the tensioner could be the culprit or water pump bearing under load.

if you cold somehow put a video up, it would help us all.

you could have air lock in your system.

yes bleed it then take it from there.

put a hose pipe in the matrix pipe to flush it & make sure the coolant pipes are warm & soft before you drive the car along with the radiator fan kicking in.

you could do either both will look good. black would blend well if you got a black front grill..

personal preference -

i think that gear knob as standard grips better than the IS leather knob.

although the IS leather gear knob seems to shine more -

yes your symptoms on the car describe a clutch slave cylinder -

try bleeding it, if not you got to change it if you want to be changing gears :arrrggg-matey:

i would do black background.. but then again what colour is your car ?

i have seen some with grey backgrounds & couldn't tell the difference much what background it was

I had a spare set but gave them away! should have kept them they can come in use.

don't know where you can get them rings alone.

try filling up the damper with grease then heat it up slightly to melt it & leave it over night. the grease is a lot thicker then the sprays. works slowly though. next day get a flat head screwdriver & tap it with hammer on the end of the ring of the groove. give it a few strong hits being careful not to round of the groove. once loosened you then use the normal tool.

I have done this many times on many cars, it mostly has always worked.

also make sure the car is jacked up to release tension.

yes Ashar, these cars are top notch for there time & going -

we have a bmw e90 330d m sport auto top spec In the family & went on a trip to Glasgow this summer. I drove there & back..

after the trip I felt like I had driven million miles on a world tour. had body pains all over, even though it had full leather interior.

we done the same trip in the IS & we all came back relaxed..

no way near as reliable & the car costs twice as much to run over the year than the IS200.

so I think it still competes even with newer cars. the only major difference I would say is the high power/torque of the bmw.

in the end it makes sense to hold on to these cars with many years to come -
