  1. no rubbing issues with 19's on standard suspension.

the lower the suspension drop, the lower profile of tyre should be used as much possible to avoid arch rub. eg 225/40, 235/35.

I think 40mm set up with 19's should not cause rubbing issues unless carrying full load & dependingon the strength of the dampers.

( ride & handling will be effected )

  2. not sure how to bring the diagram up but its a round bush that sits below the hub.

on the track control arm you got the link bar which runs through then the shock damper & the hub bush or control arm bush.

this bush sets up the rear geometry.

your car must be fishtailing if this bush is worn with play

  3. as people said above ^

your tracking is the main issue. lexus is known for inner tyre wear as the settings are wrong from the company.

you could try the tyre pressures at 35 instead of lexus 33 psi.

if your knocking noise comes out to be the bottom ball joint then have that replaced then do the tracking correctly.

also you might want to stick with stock tyre size for a 17'' rim.

    hope this helps :glare:

  4. well your not wrong for having it mint or close to it. these cars are old now & any scratches or dents will make the car look tatty & show there age. I try to keep mine new as possible and it does not look like a 2000 model car even when next to a sort of brand new car.

the way these cars are designed its still not out of fashion and looks up to the years going of the future

I know they are not worth a lot for what you are getting & adding extra cash to it will be a loss when comes to a sale but the way I see is, if going to have a lexus keep it mint as possible & keep the status high up . . . just my thoughts -

  5. I personally think the ride will be not so good on a lexus with konis plus you got to change all four dampers or not much point.

they are stiffer and great for spirited driving & cornering with less body roll.

in the wet you will end up with all kinds of steer problems & tail happy rear end with rear set of konis.

do you have oem front dampers ? you could fit the rears in & see how it pans out for your driving style

koni dampers are good but at the rears only in rwd car ? I don't think so'

  6. give it a few days of touch up. if its getting better and fading - its working -

you said 100 quid to get that scratch removed ? that's a brilliant price. he might do similar what your doing and mop that end to blend it all in. I would only use g3 polish with a decent mop. it does miracles!

  7. freaking haterz! they need to be keyed in the face so every time they look in the mirror they remember what they have done!

mine was done last year on rear quarter and bonnet. you could try this - get the touch up paint from lexus & touch it up lightly.

the next day touch it up again for a few days keep doing it.. then wet flap the section along scratch with p3000 paper & warm water. dry it up and use g3 polish with a mop machine all on that body part. eg door.

I have done this on mine and can not tell at all there was a scratch.

the other next cheap option is change the door in same colour.

worst case you get it sprayed hoping the anal holes don't come back again!

the deeper the scratch the harder it is but looking at yours it can be done and can come out 98% perfect at worst -

  8. got a metal knock from the driver side front wheel. happens when I turn the wheel a bit when stationary, sometimes over bumps and when braking. it happens majority of the time.

    new parts changed:

    bottom and top ball joints

caliper slide pins and brake pads

    link bar

there is no play on the suspension or any sign of wear on any item. everything has been checked and tightened.

could this be the steering rack by any chance?

  9. advisable to check your brake shoes and drum. it could be sticking. how many clicks you got on the brake lever ?

as mentioned above post is the correct way of adjusting the handbrake.. it could be too tight aswell. .

if its on the tight side try loosening it on the brake lever 1st then take it from there.

if still not sure, then drive down the road :driving: & do a handbrake turn. it ought to fix the squeal :hehe:

    kidding

  10. I am sure I heard that land rover sell atf oil which is Toyota/lexus equivalent & at cheaper price too.

i am using semi synthetic dexron 3 comma atf oil in mine..

there are many brands out there of oils. just make sure you get the right spec oil that meets the requirements.

  11. if its mpg concern Abid, you rather go for a Toyota avensis 2.0 litre vvti cdx auto, 150bhp, leathers, 6 disc cd changer, the works.

its as good as the IS without the name lexus. .

    avensis aprrox 40 mpg combined

    IS approx. 28 mpg combined

hope I have helped the confusion out for you -
