I know... I replaced a full set on mine a couple of months ago and still weep to this day. 😢
That said, it did transform the ride and handling of the car plus eliminating a knocking noise and some interior rattles along the way.

There is a hybrid model for other markets.
Is it a 300h?

Hi Simon, apologies, my bad - that rear strut at £122 is for the GS430 and GS460. I cross-checked the part number with Amayama.
In summary:
Rear shock for GS450h
Rear shock for GS300
Rear shock for GS430 and GS460
In any case, if you email your vehicle reg to Lexus Parts Direct, you will be advised of the correct rear shock absorber for your car.

Hi folks, reading this thread with interest, since I have an 07 450h which needs at least 1 rear damper. Lexus parts direct have the struts themselves for £122 each, since I reckon the springs etc are all OK and after 170k+ miles I hope it's just the dampers.
Not sure if you're aware but the rear strut that Lexus Parts Direct retails for £122 is for the GS300 and not the GS450h.
Also, thanks for sharing that link 👍

Such a shame it will not be available overhere. At first i thought that would be because of slow sales but now i noticed it will only be available with 3 engines and NO hybrid.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Maybe (hopefully) it's just limited engine options at launch.
It would absolutely blow my mind if Lexus went the other direction ditches hybrid altogether for the IS while competitors have soldiered on to PHEV in this segment.

I think it's a design success. Second-best looking IS in my opinion (behind the 1IS 😁)
Absolutely love it.
Real, real shame if it doesn't get launched here at all.

From what I've read on here, the delay of shifting from low to high gear on the GS450h transmission is a precursor to an oil pump bearing failure.

I have just bought a radar unit for the front of the car from Ebay. I made a cheeky offer of £45, and the seller accepted it.
Nice one - will be interesting to watch this progress for sure. Have you also procured the specific ACC front grille?

My car has ACC so happy to take photos/video of what you need, if that helps.
I think you should consider starting a build thread for this, John 🙂👍

The IS200 was a rebadged Toyota Altezza.
Just like the LS400 is a rebadged Celsior? Not sure about that... 😉

It did well for the 100k service, you must be glad 🙂
I won't forget my 100k service at the main dealer - it would have cost me £2500 if it wasn't for the extended warranty. Leaks from the timing chain cover, VVT-i cam gear replacement, and leak from the aircon condenser. And having to pry the gearbox out of the way to remove a rubber grommet that caused the aircon condensate water to stagnate and wet the carpets....
Interestingly enough, not too long after that service, the family and I did a road trip to Zurich and back. I'm sure you'll love it as much as we did 🙂

Wow you don't mess around do you, Qamar? Well done! 😉👍🏻
Looking forward to more pics!

Also interested to know how you are planning on testing it 😉

Good choice 🙂
Parts shouldn't be an issue these days with the likes of Amayama and BeForward or even eBay.
Places like Nippon Auto Spares in Derby and Jap Spares Coventry also stock JDM parts and can import parts to order.

Wow... just wow 😍

I really hope Lexus UK soldiers on with the 4IS.
It's bad enough that the ES is being stretched to accommodate the GS sphere, it would be tragic if they stretched it even further to accommodate the IS's.
Also, why isn't the IS500 an IS-F? For the media to not draw parallels with M3 and C-AMG?
Does anyone know what this is

It looks like you have a standard amplifier instead of the Mark Levinson one. That extra connector could be reserved for the Mark Levinson amp.
