  1. looking good peter! I have yet to upload your other carbon fibre trim photos! i'll get right on that this weekend.
  2. looking good indeed! There's a meeting on the 11th now? awesome! Man how long have i not on here for! like a week! haha.
  3. Haha special sim upgraded footwell LEDs :) I like the sound of that. I tell you the white LEDs on the white car looks amazing! Take a look at my other threads I've put up some pictures in them of it.
  4. yeh i think losing the touch screen move is a downgrade, they only did this to follow the germans
  5. carbon trim always looks good, but definitely a slippery slope as once you start you can't stop till it looks just right! :)
  6. oh dear, that white one with red leather will make me poor.....
  7. Yeh I'm trying to figure that one out myself, or at least have it as optional extra. These little things just make the car that little bit more special. Oh yeh you need to get onto those, I can see a lot of people would definitely be interested in doing those mods. I'll upload your carbon pillars aswell soon. Pictures have come out quite good on them.
  8. Hi i thought i'd put together this UK version of how to fit the illuminated sills in the ISF for those who wish to fit them themselves. The ISF doesn't have the plug and play version of fitting the Illuminated sills, so a bit of wire splicing/tapping is required in order to make them work. Materials required: Illuminated sills Spare wire approximately 2 metres worth (any old insulated wire will do, i used speaker cable) Multimeter Wire cutters/splicers (also 4 x wire taps if this is the way you want to connect wires) Insulating tape Small screw driver The passenger side and driver side differ slightly in the way you connect the wires as the driver side already has a connecter available just need a negative and the one that is in the connecter isn't connected to anything for some odd reason? Passenger side First off all you have to remove the front and rear door sills in order to be able to remove the B-pillar trim which are all held in by push connectors, just need to pull fairly hard directly away from car in order to remove them. We need to remove the B-pillar in order to access the wire loom for the 12v positive and negative. To get better access to trims and wires you might find it beneficial to move the front seat all the way forwards and at its highest setting. DSC_1875 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1876 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1877 by simsimma4, on Flickr As you can see from the above pictures i have moved the seat belt out of harms way by hooking it around the front car seat. You need to remove the blue plastic cover by inserting a small screw driver into the cover gripers (the holes, 2 on the left side and 1 on the right side) and pulling the cover out, to reveal the wire loom in which we will tap the positive wire from. The negative wire will be tapped of the purple wire (which is used as the door switch). You can either tap the new wires direct from the visible wire using wire taps, or you can connect the new wires directly into the clips, i did the latter. But be careful when connecting the new wires not to expose the opposite end of the wires to any bodywork/or to each other as this will blow the rear door fuse and therefore not only will your rear door window not work but also the illuminated sills won't work. It would therefore be advisable to use a bit of insulating tape on opposite end of wire. You may find it useful to use a multimeter to check which wire will provide the positive, however this usually is the bottom thick black wire on the connector. You also will have to have the front door open in order to check if wires are correct as we are using the door as the switch to give power. DSC_1878 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1879 by simsimma4, on Flickr This is what the finished product looked like on mine. DSC_1880 by simsimma4, on Flickr And that is it, feed the new wires down and into the front sill location, you can put the blue cover back and B-pillar trim along with rear sill. The new wires can either be tapped straight into the illuminated sill wires or you can tap into the connector, i did the latter so if i ever wanted to remove it i can :) Then fit the sill on and job done for this side. Driver side This side is relatively simple as there is a connecter already in place, only thing is this connector doesn't have a connected negative, so a new one will have to be sourced from the door the door switch wire. Firstly remove the front and rear sills in order to remove the B-pillar. We need to tap off either the exposed white door switch wire or directly from the clip, again i did the latter. DSC_1882 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1883 by simsimma4, on Flickr This is what the finish product looked like on mine. DSC_1884 by simsimma4, on Flickr Once done feed the wire down and to the front sill connector and refit the B-pillar trim and rear sill. The other side of this new wire will be either tapped into the white wire going into connector or directly tapping into the connector, again i did the latter and then tape it all into place. DSC_1885 by simsimma4, on Flickr And that is it, connect the illuminated sill and enjoy the finished product! hope this helps out anyone thinking of doing the same to theirs. Big thanks to Peter for allowing me to take pictures of me doing this to his car. DSC_1851 by simsimma4, on Flickr
  9. Awesome mate. Just let me know when and I'll sort it out for you :) Oh yeh the rear LEDs do look amazing!
  10. Congrats mate! Lovely car, you won't be dissappointed
  11. I managed to upgrade the foot well LEDs or should i say retro fit LED light strips :) I think they have turned out quite well. Pretty straight forward to do, just need to use the power from the original LED and attach a LED light strip which stick to the bottom plastic covers on passenger and driver sides. I think they really add to the rest of the LED upgrades that i have done in the car. Also thanks to Peter for fitting in LED rear brake lights. They also dim like the original LED's DSC_1864 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1871 by simsimma4, on Flickr Some videos https://www.flickr.com/photos/78162243@N05/14460781206/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/78162243@N05/14296816080/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/78162243@N05/14296726590/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/78162243@N05/14482108854/ Here are some other photos of the LED upgrades that have been done :) DSC_1862 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1860 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1857 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1856 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1855 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1854 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1846 by simsimma4, on Flickr DSC_1844 by simsimma4, on Flickr
  12. Awesome day guys, very productive and nice weather for it too! Was good to see a street full of ISF's :D Big thanks to Peter for fitting my LED brake lights and front headlight lights, big job but well worth it. Hope you enjoy the illuminated scuff plates and footwell lights roheel, they really add to the car. Thanks again guys, Sim
  13. I would also like to listen to it, can you email a clip to me too. Email is simranjitjhita@hotmail.com
  14. That sounds really nice. Be interested to see how it sounds in the flesh. But from simple speakers and on you tube, it seems to sound more subtle than H&S, perhaps even a little deeper
  15. I will be fitting Roheels' sill on Sunday. I will be taking photos as I go along, as good as the American write up is it wasn't 100% accurate to the colours of wires we have. Plus it's always good to make a UK version of their walk through just incase anyone else wishes to do the same mod over here.
  16. when driving slow there is little to no difference in tyres so why not just get the cheapest possible tyres? The whole point in tyres is to make the car safe, comfortable and efficient. After all of that power and engineering the only thing delivering it to the ground will be a small contact point from tyres. If you were to get in a tricky situation i believe in having the best possible tyres on my car so to escape the situation. For me it's knowing that if i wanted to go around a corner fast or do some maneuver that would stretch my car to the limits i have the right tyres to see me through safely :D not that i go around corners fast all the time but if i wanted to i could without hassle :D That being said all tyres have their pros and cons, its just about getting the best one that suits your needs, that is the best tyre to go for!
  17. I've run bridgestones, michelin pilot super sports, and currently got goodyear eagle f1 as symmetric 2. Have to admit michelin tyres were leagues ahead, down right grip is phenomenal! Even in wet. However when cold they don't perform well. They need to be warmed up and that's when they really shine. Having said that the goodyears I've currently got need warming up to, not quite as much but they do. Goodyears perform brilliantly in wet, but dry performance is not good, always losing grip round corners. Goodyears are softer tyre hence better ride comfort and quieter, however the michelins will certainly outlast them so can cover more miles. Only reason I changed to goodyears was because I wanted to try them out as I've heard good things about them, if given the chance I would certainly change back to michelins! Just a better tyre overall and not much more expensive
  18. Hi Andy, as Peter rightly said i got mine from Roheel who got them from a lexus dealership here in UK. Roheel would have more info on where he sourced them from I just paid the price :D
  19. Excellent. Yeh I wasn't thinking the same can't be much harder than doing the sills.
  20. Ahh excellent. Sunday shall we say 10am? Earlier the better? Yeh wiring I might be able to do myself but need to see what goes where and how hard it is.
  21. That's a good plan. However I've just seen my work schedule, looks like I'm working Saturday :(. Bummer But how about we do it Sunday? If that's alright?
  22. No problem Roheel. Can perhaps do Both on same day. Or I might be free this weekend. I'll let you know in due course. They look awesome at night. During day you can't notice if they on but they look a bit more class than the originals
  23. Awesome, yeh me too once that's done and front and rear bulbs we fitting on Saturday should finish that off nicely. Soon as I've had a go at doing my footwell LEDs I'll let you know, take a few pics so you can see how they look. Can do those at same time not a problem.
  24. Not a problem Peter. I can certainly do them for you, it was more straight forward than I initially thought. Plus I had the time today and itchy feet to get them fitted seeing as I had them just laying there! When does your car come back from the shop? I don't mind at mine or yours, you live relatively close. :) Just a few more 'light' enhancements to do and I'll be happy Have to admit the white LEDs on door mirrors are bright! Plus look awesome on white car
