  1. power steering fluid change

  2. I had this problem last year,2 local garages qouted me about £450 to get the cam belt & waterpump changed. The first one had it for half a day then informed me the job was too big/complicated for them. 2nd garage said no prob.3 hour job £450 took the car along they tel me within 20 minutes to say they made a mistake and it would take 18 hours labour at £40 an hour,so I got my car back. I then took it to Lexus in Chester who had qouted me £650 (actually charged me £630), for all the belts & waterpump,it took them a good 8 hours (including cleaning the car) very happy with the job & service but a lot poorer. My advice would be to get a fixed price qoute for the job either from Lexus dealer or might be bit cheaper from Toyota. Also the work & parts are guarenteed. Steve
  3. Tom was that your Ls400 with gold badge I saw at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd last week,& again today going over the Borth crossroads towards kinmel bay?
  4. Had my cambelt, waterpump & all belts changed at Cheshire oaks Lexus dealership in March last year cost £650, brilliant customer service.Wish I could afford to use them all the time. It maybe a bit cheaper at a Toyota dealership. Good luck
  5. Just thought I'd warn you guys about the national tyres website. They have a automated quoting system for oil changes, which recomends the oil & tells u the cost and allows you to book online. When I used it they quoted £43.55,which I thought was brilliant. But when I tel the local branch they informed me it was the wrong oil & it would cost me £70 odd pound for the right stuff. So get back onto the website to chat (type) to someone ist person doesnt reply,2nd person more helpful but it still takes best part of the day to sort it out.The wonders of online shopping!! SO BEWARE OF THIS SITE AND IT's FLAWED INFO.
  6. I would just like to say hi to the new member from Denbighshire.I am just over the border in conwy.Had my mot test yesterday passed with only one advisory & that was "unable to test rear adult seat belt because child seat fitted!!!! not bad for a 16 year old car, and from the impression I get from here mine is probably a bit of a shed, but it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.I still feel lucky to have found her.Happy days
  7. Thanks for that Dale. All I need now is someone who lives in or near High Wycombe to have a look at the car & let me know if it's worth me spending time & money going to see it. I might give them a ring tomorrow. thanks again Steve
  8. Hi everyone I have asked this question in new members but got no replies,so thought I'd ask here as I could do with an answer asap, I'm also bit crap at searching the forums. Does anyone know if the parts, bodywork & electrics from a 1995 m reg LS400 fit a 1996 N reg LS400. Reason being that I have spotted a LS400 for sale in Buckinghamshire, which I think is the same colour as mine ( moonstone green ) which I have thought of buying for body parts etc. Has anyone been to view this car?If so I'd appreciate your opinion.as I live in North Wales & cant spare the time or money to travel to see it. Would really appreciate help on this. Thanks Steve
  9. Hi I bought a 1996 Ls400 back in Feb & I luv it,had no service history but did have brand new mot so dispite misgivings I went ahead & bought it for £800.So far it is money well spent. I had a new cambelt, waterpump etc fitted at Lexus in Chester, expensive but very good service, had it serviced by local guy.I decided in April to have it converted to LPg by Profess gas in south Wales no complaints there. So I have had what I consider to be the major stuff done, hope noone is going to say but what about so & so.But there are a few bodywork blemishes and the alloys need work so I am considering buying a donor car. I have spotted a 1995 car that looks in reasonable condition & appears to have the parts that I need at a very good price. My questions are will the parts from a 1995 m reg fit a 1996 n reg.specifically bumpers, wing mirrors, boot, doors etc. Are the wiring looms/connectors identical on both models? Will the wheels from a 1995 ( they look like original alloys to me ) fit directly to 1996 model. Its on sale at a dealers in Bucks, has anyone viewed it? if so is it as good in the flesh as it is in the pics? I would appreciate any info on the above questions, specially anyone who has seen the vehicle as I live in North Wales & dont fancy a wasted & expensive trip to Bucks!! Hope you can help Steve
  10. Just had my LS400 converted to lpg by profess LPG in South wales. Very pleased so far, drove home 180 miles with no problems. The car drives as smooth as ever, may be my imagination but drives smoother than before. Dont know what my mpg is at the mo, but at 75p a litre it's got to be better than petrol.
  11. hi bought my Ls400 a few weeks back & love it. Decided to convert to lpg using professautogas. just wondering if anyone has had a recent conversion there? If so,was the conversion good or bad?. Any problems with insurance?
