  1. I must admit I hadn't thought about that, good point ESP as its my daily driver, thinking back to my Soarer that had 265/18 on the rear and that was a real handful in the wet and impossible in the snow,. So......... Upto 19" and keep standard rim size or 18" and coilovers ?????
  2. Found some more info saying its 46mm ......
  3. Found some info pointing to the 300 sport offset on the 10" is 42mm ..... According to the calculator I'm using this makes them stick out a further 33mm !!!!! My standard 8" wheels are already close
  4. Cheers for that Dave ...... Just wondering how accurate these offset calculators are ..... Looking at the standard wheels with an offset of 50 and how close they are it doesn't give much room to come outwards and the offsets needed in the calculator to achieve this take so much from the inside it just looks like it wont fit ..... Unless I'm missing something fundamental
  5. ??????????? Two replies already telling you which 10" wheels will fit your GS430! Mk1 and ??????? , and I bet the mk1's are like rocking horse poo to get hold of
  6. Hi Dave do u have any idea what offset they were ...... I really don't want to make an expensive mistake when I go for a new set of wheels
  7. According to the calculators they won't clear the arch unless the offset is really high, then you start to lose inside space between wheel rim and suspension stuff .........
  8. Looking at all the offset calculators its not possible to fit 10" rims without rolling the arches or having really high offsets which don't exist so I'm not sure where the staggered wheel suppliers get their info from and no one on here knows what will fit anyway
  9. Got a pair for mine £95 ...Toyota and Lexus ltd
  10. Sounded and felt a bit crunchy this morning, jacked up one wheel at a time and found play in drivers side rear with hands at 12 and 6 o'clock when pushin and pullin on wheel so guessing that bearings shot , booked in to be replaced Friday
  11. Hi all, On way to work today I had travelled about 6 miles and many roundabouts was just going round the last one before work and this noise started that sounded like the exhaust had come loose and was dragging on the floor, pulled over and looked under car ..... Nothing!!!!!, carried on noise stopped, parked up left work drove home still no noise whatever the speed, weird !!!! Any clues anyone , wheel bearing perhaps ?
  12. Lexus all the way, shame they don't make a 4x4 with load capacity of a ford explorer
  13. Update ..... Wasn't the front at all, it was the rear rotors, where they have a groove for the shield to run in they had so much rust and crud in there it couldn't help but rub, cleaned it all out and skimmed a mil or two off the ridge on the back plate ESP at the bottom ....... Noises all gone now .... Peace reins once again
  14. 19 was about the diameter I was going for, want to go staggered 9.5 rear and 8.5 front offset is going to be the sticking point
  15. Bummer, hope u get it sorted ....prob a wheel sensor gone bad
  16. Hi all Relatively new to the gs and was wondering just how big one could go without rolling arches rubbing etc, will be fitting coilovers soon so I can lower her a bit ..... Was thinking 19's all round with 8.5's up front And 9.5's at the rear ...... Have no idea what offset I would need, standard is 50 by my measurements ...... Did a search but came up with such random results, so I'm asking those that are there already pls share your experience Many thanks terry
  17. All done now ..... Feels like night and day difference solid as a rock
  18. Would do harm !!!!! Or would do No harm !!!! Think I'll do it anyway if nothing else for peace of mind
  19. Welcome John, I too have taken to the same model as yourself, lovely car much easier to work on and far more reliable than my XJ8
  20. Hi all I have just removed my front lower ball joints and the no.2 lower suspension arms, to be replaced with new, question is all the bolts holding this stuff in seem to have had what looks like thread lock applied by Lexus when putting together, should I do the same when I rebuild this little lot or just torque up as per spec Cheers tel.
