  1. I have this exact setup with the A119S and I can thoroughly recommend it because it's super stealthy in the position above. Don't bother with a hardwire kit as wiring it in is easy enough too as the cable will slip in under the various bits of interior and is long enough to reach to the floor mounted socket in the middle. Make sure to get the right 119 from Amazon/whoever as there are a few variants - get the GPS mount version: https://www.amazon.co.uk/VIOFO-A119S-Version-Capacitor-Recording/dp/B06Y2P7VB9/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1528448212&sr=8-2&keywords=A119s I've also fitted a non-GPS 119 to my rear window as the price is sufficiently low that fitting two is better than finding a specialised front and rear camera Thumbs up! p.s. I can also attest to the stickiness and durability of the 3M sticky pad that comes with the camera - it was exposed to direct sunlight last summer in 30+ degrees heat while parked all week and hasn't budged a millimetre.
  2. Cheers guys, like you I always use the same tyres on the same 'axle', but i was a bit worried about mixing them up front and rear, thanks for the reassurances
  3. I'm wondering which is the most influential factor? Height of sidewall, size(weight) of wheel, or width of tyres? I'm assuming that the 15" wheels are more economical because of reduced width and weight?
  4. I normally like to buy a full set of tyres but the Hankooks on the back of my RX400 are going bald on the outside edge. Are there any potential problems if I replace them with Michelin Latitude Sport 3s and keep the Hankooks on the front til they wear out?
  5. Ordered it despite my misgivings and it arrived today - all 26" of it" Seems like either the description did have a typo or the shop just sent me the right part anyway. Now to move the replaced Lexus wipers, with new refills, onto my RX300 and replace the Bosch ones!
  6. Well I wouldn't be asking on here if I hadn't already tried to find out, I'm probably not using the right search terms
  7. Do you have any references for that because I'd really like to find out more
  8. Sorry I should have explained, I want to get an actual Lexus wiper blade because I think they're slightly better looking than the bosch/pattern parts and yes I know that's silly. and eurocarparts website doesn't work in either my IE or Chrome so they're not getting any business if they can't be bothered to test their website in more than one browser
  9. I'm considering buying a Ct200H and while I understand that the real world mpg figures are more like the 40-50 range I have also heard that the smaller 16" wheels are more economical. Does anyone have any actual figures real experience related to this rather than anecdotes? Any difference by tyre manufacturer too? For reference I'm expecting to be doing about 4-5k miles of urban driving and maybe 2k miles of motorway driving per annum so it's urban mpg that's the primary issue.
  10. I'm looking to replace the driver wiper blade on my 08 RX400H and this is what the lexus official store lists as a compatible part: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Lexus-RX-OEM-Front-RH-Wiper-Blade-740mm-29-2005-2008-8521248100-/251992948996?hash=item3aabf34104 However it's 740mm/29" rather than the 650mm/26" I was expecting. Is this actually a compatible part or have they made a mistake on the listing? If the 26" one is the right part where can I get a replacement as the ebay shop doesn't seem to have any? p.s. Yes I do know about wiper refills p.p.s. and what happened to the parts page, it's been missing for a a while now it seems
  11. The title pretty much covers it. My 04 plate RX300 clock wont adjust the clock time when I change the time zone or the daylight saving time options on the screen and afaik there's no option to set the time manually, or is there? Any ideas how to get it working?
  12. Actually what I needed to find out was specifically how to remove the trim without breaking it. It turns out that there are three latches on the edge of the panel nearest to the seat and you need to poke a screwdriver or similar sized flat object into them and push them backwards (towards the front of the car) to release them. I asked Russell at Toyotec to show me the latches and he very helpfully did but until you actually see what they look like it's very difficult to work out how to open them.
  13. I'm trying to find the fusebox on my 2008 RX400H and going by the diagrams I've seen online it should be somewhere under/behind the glovebox. However there's a large plastic panel there to prevent the passengers feet getting up into the gubbins and I can't see how to remove it. There don't seem to be any screws so I'm assuming it simply latches into place but I've tried various ways to tug it open and it doesn't seem to want to open with gentle force and I'm worried about breaking it if I apply too much force. How do you remove the panel or access the interior fusebox in a 2008 RX400H? Preferably with a picture!
  14. I've just fitted a dash cam to my rear window and I'd like to hardwire it in. There are plenty of kits with voltage regulators (e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nextbase-Car-Camera-Hard-Wire/dp/B00XHYSQAC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495387551&sr=8-1&keywords=nextbase+dash+cam+fitting+kit ) but is there a way to hardwire this somewhere into the rear rather than running the cable across the roof and down to the fusebox?
  15. I've been using autotrader to compare MPG figures RX300 - 16mpg urban, 27mpg extra urban - that matches up with the real world figures I get in my RX300 RX400 - 31mpg urban, 37mpg extra urban - so far I'm averaging 24mpg urban and haven't done any motorway - significantly under the mpg figures from the same source So either the figures autotrader uses are form different sources or the RX400h figures are substantially overinflated - it should be better than the RX300 or what's the point and there's so many different opinions it's impossible to gauge anything Grrrrrrr
  16. Sorry forgot to say, that's at autobahn speeds - 80mph I've recently got a 400h so I'll see how that does on the same journey, if it's not significantly better I'm going to be quite disappointed with the claimed mpg Lexus gives
  17. I know it's only anecdotal but my RX300 manages 27 mpg in a trip across Europe during the summer - I haven't tried either the 300 or the 400 hybrid in winter though. I'd definitely be dissapointed with 24mpg.
  18. I have one of these types of cassette adapter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Leaper-Universal-Cassette-Adapter-Sumsung-x/dp/B0186RNP46/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483525135&sr=8-1&keywords=car+tape+player+adapter It's not a perfect solution but it is very easy to use and extremely cheap. Just saw this, might be worth a try: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ION-Audio-Bluetooth-Cassette-Adapter/dp/B00I3YLHAC/ref=cm_wl_huc_item
  19. Well it's been stood for a while from the look of it so it's possible the alignment is out, it's one of the things I'd have checked anyway if I buy it. I always get stuff like that checked, along with brakes, tyres, etc.
  20. Hello I was looking yesterday at a 2007 GS450h SE-L that had aftermarket 19" alloys with 255/35 tyres. I gave it a short test drive but I think the tyres were quite low pressure as the car felt a bit heavy in the steering (and there was a tyre pressure warning light). Does anyone have 19" wheels fitted or are there any potential problems with fitting them or is it simply not a problem? Also where can I get a decent idea of prices adjusted for mileage? This one had 114k and I usually stick to lower mileages but it is a very nice red colour.... Also, after coming straight from my RX300 with its huge flappy ears, does it seem that the GS450h has quite small wing mirrors?
  21. Does he not know about the diff lock? Or does the newer RX not have one?
  22. I think the pads have been replaced once in the same time frame, there were new pads when I had the new discs, and the current ones are apparently at 50%. So one and a half sets of pads in 20k.
