  1. I too have more wear on the inside edge & to a slightly lesser extent on the outside edge of my front tyres - rears appear ok - I am not exactly sure what a 4 wheel alignment is though - is it a 4 wheel version of tracking ? or is it someting completely different to tracking ?? - I am only used to hearing about the term tracking when talking about possible excessive tyre wear - I have a six month old IS200SE Can someone explain this a bit more to me?
  2. As nobody has really answered your question fully yet, I will! I do 75% ish town work (using optimax) and find I regularly get 20-22 around town, disappointing but what can you do!!
  3. I have a 53 reg IS200 SE with the standard 17" alloys and I was informed at the dealership that recent cars have alloys that have been finished/lacquered to a higher standard. Although I am hoping there will not be any problems, I have already noticed the odd very minor blemish (at this stage) already ater a few months. This makes me ask the question - have Lexus solved the issue of corrosion on these alloys - I am not convinced that they have! Although the alloys are lovely, I think to myself, if these alloys are giving cause for concern then why on earth don't Lexus not change the design. I have had other vehicles with alloy wheels from far less respectable manufacturers and not had these concerns. Taking this a stage further, if Lexus replace the wheels under warranty, do they replace all five alloys and do you get new tyres with the replacement alloys or do they fit your old tyres on the replacement alloys?
  4. Folks How do I get my car (or any picture) in my "details" bit on the left of the message e.g The Don's Black IS200
  5. My standard IS200SE is now about 4 months old and has done about 3k - 90% of our driving is town driving and we get about 20-22 mpg using Optimax - hoping it may get a bit better as the miles go on - the performance (or lack of it) and economy are the only real letdowns I feel - I would not mind the poor economy if the performance was electrifying !!
  6. How old is the car because that is an absolute bargain? Isnt that around £25000 new? Yes, it is indeed that price! First registered in june last year Was this from the Ipswich dealer and what reg is the car
  7. Hi I have to reverse my vehicle up on to my concrete drive - which has a 30 degree ish ramp to it before it levels out. I find that occasionally when reversing as I hit the point where the ramp changes to the level section I hear a grinding type noise depending on who is in the car, how it is loaded etc- I cringe when I hear it and I believe it is part of the exhuast system as there is the odd minor scratch etc when I have inspected the underbody. I may have to lower the drive somehow or change the car!! I'll try the drive first. There is no way that I could lower the car anymore (although I am not into modding as yet) - I try to keep the tyre pressures up as much as possible as every little helps! I take it all you guys with lowered IS's have to be really careful over speed humps etc anyway
  8. Lexus Ipswich They now tell me owned by Thorndale Investments - who have a connection with Colchester Toyota??
  9. My 53 reg Sept 03) IS200 SE has a chrome tipped exhaust - although it appears to be integrated in to the tail of the box - there is no screw/allen key fixing that I can see of though (some previous replies indicated there is a fixing - perhaps on later models it is different unless I am talking about someting comletely different!!)
  10. Lexus Ipswich My local dealer tells me they are owned by a chap called Mr Shaun McElhinny (personally) rather than under any company name - unusual ?? but possibly true!
  11. I have an IS 200 SE (53 Plate) I find that any make of CDR seems to work ok - barring the odd hiccup between tracks etc but mines a new un so I hope I don't have any probs This also raises the question of whether the Standard Lexus CD Unit should be used to play CDR's - the owners manual says it "MAY not play them etc" One further bit of advice - I have been burning CDR's for a while now - although you can use "computer/data" CDR's to record music on, I always use CDR's that are marked "audio/music use only" - they are a bit more expensive but I find are more reliable
  12. 1. Boyzone (for mrs doobs) 2. Busted (for all of us and they are a local band to us!) 3. Aussie girl from Neighbours (not Kylie) but can't remember her name 4. Mix 5. Mix 6. Mix Incidentally, do you folks find your standard fit lexus cd player plays CDR compilations etc ok??

  14. I have a two month old 200SE and funnily enough have exactly the same problem and queried it with Lexus Ipswich - they say it can be a problem but to experiment etc - pity they don't tell you these things before you buy! I am still trying to find the best pumping position but will return to dealer if things do not improve as pump clicks every 3-5 seconds even with minimal trigger pressure
