  1. I'm posting about this for a friend who is considering purchasing an IS250. He has found this one locally: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103220458615?model=IS 250&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&postcode=cw114qh&radius=1500&sort=distance&include-delivery-option=on&make=LEXUS&advertising-location=at_cars&page=1 It looks like a clean example to me. Any thoughts? Seller says he is open to offers and I always find it hard to value low mileage examples. He says he is open to offers. What do you think it is worth? Thanks all.
  2. Car was picked up yesterday. New owner is delighted with it and will hopefully join up here in due course. Shame it couldn't go to an existing member but there you go. Will be test driving the RX450h and the Porsche Cayenne when the garages re-open next month. I appreciate that these are very different cars but these are the two cars we are going to choose between.
  3. Good idea. Probably something between £14-25k. Not that fussed re. colour but probably a darker interior is preferred by the Mrs.
  4. Update: the LS600h sold today to a private buyer (not here). However, I think you'll have a new member here shortly. Result! So, in the market for a nice RX450h if anyone knows of one that is for sale. Thanks all.
  5. My Lexus LS600h sold today. Good news, so now in the market for a nice preowned RX450h if anyone is selling?
  6. Not yet, but open to offers. Not in a rush to sell though as the wife is not looking to change her car for a couple of months at least. There are also a lot of worse options than keeping and enjoying this amazing machine!
  7. Asking price reduced to £9500 in the hope of a sale here in the next week. If not, the car will be advertised on Autotrader etc in early March. I'm really hoping a forum member can take this car onwards.
  8. That's another one to add to the list. Honda is my second favourite brand. I think I'd rather have one of those as opposed to an XC90.
  9. Well, its complicated and I won't bore you with all the details, but she definitely prefers the higher driving position. We've had Volvo XC90s in the past and they have been perfect. Quite tempted to go back to one of those but I do like the idea of the RX450h. I think they are both great cars from what I've heard.
  10. If you are thinking of selling, I'm on the look out for one. Do let me know as I'd much prefer to buy one from a club member than go down the dealer sales route.
  11. Thanks Malc. Yes, strange times indeed. I will be very sad to see her go. However, I need to get a car that is more suitable for my wife to drive. Her disability makes getting in and out of 'lower' cars difficult so a RX450h will be perfect. I know that an RX is not a LX but I'm sure it will be a lovely car too. I'm chatting with Lexus about a pre-owned one but my hope is to find a private seller here.
  12. Sure, here you go: Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to chat about the car too if you are interested.
  13. Hi all, I've been very happy driving around in a beautiful LS600h for the last few years. However, due to some changes in the next few months, I'm going to be able to 'retire' from my job that involves a regular commute and my wife and I are looking for a car to share. She needs a higher driving position due a disability that she has, so the LS600h is advertised here and I'm looking out for a pre-owned RX450h. If anyone is wanting to sell or look to exchange one for a beautiful luxury saloon do get in touch. Thanks, Jonathan
  14. Hi all, I'm selling my LS600h and I'm hoping that it will go to a member here. I've not advertised it anywhere else and will not be doing so for the next two weeks. So, fingers crossed, I will find a new home for it. Ad is in the appropriate forum here but happy to answer any questions here too. I'm looking for a RX450 for a shared car for the Mrs and myself moving forwards so happy to look at trades up or down from this. Cheers all, Jonathan
  15. I was surprised that they were covered too. I was expecting an argument about that! When my three years of ownership are up, I'll be looking to sell the LS600h and get something else from Lexus. My wife is keen on a RX450l so we can take the grandchildren out and about all in one car. I'm not convinced yet. Whoever buys this car next year will know that every single thing that has been done throughout the entire life of the car has been done by a Lexus main dealer. This was my intention when buying it two and a bit years ago and I'm pleased that I've managed to maintain it in this way.
  16. Always good to make others feel happy! I loved both my LS400s so I know exactly where you are coming from here. Happy motoring!
  17. Well, I had two Mark 4 LS400 prior to this car. I still had some bills to contend with but clearly the level of technology in the LS600h is several steps up compared to the LS400 (not necessarily a good thing btw). However, when all is said and done, I'd much rather be driving around in the LS600h compared to the LS400s that I owned previously (both bought for around £1k). Sorry to upset those of you that argue for LS400 ownership.
  18. I've been enjoying what is now my third year of ownership of my LS600h. Those with good memories will remember that I bought this from Lexus Stoke just over two years ago. The car came with a full service history with Lexus and just over 100k miles on the clock. Having just ticked over 140k a week or so ago, she went in for a full service. I had noticed a bit of a clunking sound from the front suspension; also, I noticed that when the radar cruise control was turned off an error message was displayed asking to refer the car to the dealer (although nothing was wrong with the operational aspects of the system). Anyway, I asked Lexus to look at that. Suspension issues turned out to be front shock absorbers (around £640 ex VAT each) and suspension arms (around £400 ex VAT each apparently). The cruise control issue was a faulty ECU (yet to be replaced as it had to be ordered from somewhere). Add in labour costs = a big bill. Good news - all covered by the 3 year warranty that Lexus offered with the car when I purchased it. So, silence will be restored when the work is completed and I"m going to look forward to another 10k miles of happy motoring.
  19. I have this in my car. I am sure it is part of the standard spec. It definitely works but don't ask me how I know this! Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  20. Unless you can do work yourself, I think it is important to factor in a few £ for maintenance. I had a few bills for both of my LS400s at an independent garage. The expense was never huge, thankfully, but should definitely be factored in.
  21. I hope that this message finds all LS owners (and others) fit and well in these strange times. I had a good day yesterday because I was able to pay off the final lump of finance on my LS600h with Lexus Financial Services so I now own this fine vehicle outright. I've still got over a year left on the manufacturer warranty that was supplied with the car (3 years in total) so intend to keep it until this time next year at least. I just need to get a couple of new front tyres and she'll be in fine fettle. At that point, who knows what to do next. Keep it and enjoy it. I don't think I'll find a better example. Upgrade to a newer model? I was also quite taken with the LC but I don't know if I could live with the almost unusable 2 rear seats.
