  1. Yes Steve, a decent price I think. More and more parts seem to be discontinued from Lexus so it won't be long before it'll be aftermarket or nothing.
  2. They are all genuine Lexus/Toyota parts bought either from Lexuspartsdirect or Lincoln Lexus, brand new in the original packaging, all for the Gen 2 LS400, bought for a 1998. Pair of rear discs (Currently £143 at Lexuspartsdirect) Rears pads (no longer listed, about £100 from memory) air filter (now discontinued, £20 for copy on ebay) cabin filter (£16) one valve cover gasket (£15) All together to buy from LPD would be around £290 if they were available, selling for £100 including tracked, insured delivery. That's less than Chinese bits from ebay would cost. I won't split the bits, if they don't sell I'll give to a friend who does autojumbles. Thanks for reading.
  3. Two LS400s is almost greedy! Good luck with it Callum, I hope the fix is a simple one, it's nice to know it's gone to a good home. As you have bought the car and I can see you're not going to break it, if you do want the spares I have feel free to make me an offer. I'd rather you have the use of them than have them sitting on the shelf.
  4. Having just sold my 1998 LS400 I'm clearing out some spares. They are all genuine Lexus/Toyota parts bought either from Lexuspartsdirect or Lincoln Lexus, brand new in the original packaging, all for the Gen 2 LS400. Pair of rear discs (Currently £143 at Lexuspartsdirect) Pair of rear top suspension arms (£427) Rear pads (no longer listed, about £100 from memory) air filter (now discontinued, £20 for copy on ebay) cabin filter (£16) one valve cover gasket (£15) I'd prefer to sell as a job lot. I don't think it'll be long before many of these parts are discontinued, air filters are already gone, so if you are going to keep your LS400 long term and prefer Lexus parts then stock up while you can. All together to buy from LPD would be £721, asking £495 plus postage or collect from near Louth in Lincolnshire.
  5. I think the DHP makes a difference to the quietness and ride quality. Not quite as wafty but goes round corners a little flatter. It would be interesting to try 16'' wheels instead of the DHP 17'' and see the difference. I suspect it's mainly down to the profile of the tyres.
  6. As an aside, I bought this manual http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260974812097?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_2052wt_1163 For £1.50 you can't go far wrong and a 2000 and 1999 car are virtually the same.
  7. It could well be on the dash. If you look from outside there appear to be two different sensors on the dash near the bottom of the windscreen. I don't know what they do but at a guess I'd say one is the GPS sensor and the other either a light sensor for the auto headlight function or a temperature sensor for the climate control. I do have a workshop manual on pdf so if I get a chance I'll see if I can find out, unfortunately it doesn't have an index so I'll have to use the search function.
  8. I don't think it's a problem but to save all your settings you need one of these http://www.drapertools.com/b2c/b2cbrowse.pgm or a garage that has one.
  9. Cheaper insurance is the one of the few things good about getting old. My LS400 cost me £181 tpft this year. it would have been £300-odd fully comp.
  10. 'Might need ball joints or bushes'. With a front top wishbone from Lexus at £400+vat check carefully! They can be had for less than half of that from Rock Autos though.
  11. Thanks Steve. Just concerned that Postman Pat had lost it.
  12. I joined and paid on 24th August, now it's 17th September and not heard anything. Is this normal?
  13. Either side mirror will tilt when reversing. You have to select the one you want on the mirror adjustment switch. If the switch is in the central position neither mirror will tilt.
  14. I've not heard anything yet, I hope it's not lost in the post!
