They are all genuine Lexus/Toyota parts bought either from Lexuspartsdirect or Lincoln Lexus, brand new in the original packaging, all for the Gen 2 LS400, bought for a 1998. Pair of rear discs (Currently £143 at Lexuspartsdirect) Rears pads (no longer listed, about £100 from memory) air filter (now discontinued, £20 for copy on ebay) cabin filter (£16) one valve cover gasket (£15) All together to buy from LPD would be around £290 if they were available, selling for £100 including tracked, insured delivery. That's less than Chinese bits from ebay would cost. I won't split the bits, if they don't sell I'll give to a friend who does autojumbles. Thanks for reading.

Two LS400s is almost greedy! Good luck with it Callum, I hope the fix is a simple one, it's nice to know it's gone to a good home. As you have bought the car and I can see you're not going to break it, if you do want the spares I have feel free to make me an offer. I'd rather you have the use of them than have them sitting on the shelf.

Having just sold my 1998 LS400 I'm clearing out some spares. They are all genuine Lexus/Toyota parts bought either from Lexuspartsdirect or Lincoln Lexus, brand new in the original packaging, all for the Gen 2 LS400. Pair of rear discs (Currently £143 at Lexuspartsdirect) Pair of rear top suspension arms (£427) Rear pads (no longer listed, about £100 from memory) air filter (now discontinued, £20 for copy on ebay) cabin filter (£16) one valve cover gasket (£15) I'd prefer to sell as a job lot. I don't think it'll be long before many of these parts are discontinued, air filters are already gone, so if you are going to keep your LS400 long term and prefer Lexus parts then stock up while you can. All together to buy from LPD would be £721, asking £495 plus postage or collect from near Louth in Lincolnshire.

It could well be on the dash. If you look from outside there appear to be two different sensors on the dash near the bottom of the windscreen. I don't know what they do but at a guess I'd say one is the GPS sensor and the other either a light sensor for the auto headlight function or a temperature sensor for the climate control. I do have a workshop manual on pdf so if I get a chance I'll see if I can find out, unfortunately it doesn't have an index so I'll have to use the search function.

Cheaper insurance is the one of the few things good about getting old. My LS400 cost me £181 tpft this year. it would have been £300-odd fully comp.

Thanks Steve. Just concerned that Postman Pat had lost it.

I joined and paid on 24th August, now it's 17th September and not heard anything. Is this normal?

I've not heard anything yet, I hope it's not lost in the post!

Up until a year or so ago insurance companies didn't mind one SP30 but apparently recently they've started whacking up premiums so be afraid at renewal time!

Get yourself a RoadAngel Connected. I'm careful anyway but it's so easy to drift over the limit sometimes and the speed limits can change several times in a short distance. There's a road near me where there are three changes of speed limit within a mile.

Try here for the owners handbook. It's US market but essentially the same. I've just bought one for my LS400. Can't go far wrong for £2.82. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250908472475?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1973wt_1163

They look good. I've just ordered a front wishbone from Rock Autos, £190 inc taxes delivered so this place looks better value and a bit quicker too. I just couldn't stomach the £400 +vat Lexus wanted. Even with club discount these are much cheaper. I'll report on the quality when it arrives. A list of trusted suppliers would be a good idea. Could one be set up as a sticky thread?

Many thanks.

The ebay pollen filter has arrived and fits perfectly. It has a few less corrugations than the one fitted but is otherwise identical so I'd recommend it.

I've just joined as a Gold member. Any idea how long it takes to get the membership number through? I'm keen to get some bits through Andy at Poole. I got a quote from my local dealer for a top suspension wishbone for my LS400 and both eyes watered. The quote from Andy only made one eye water. :) It certainly makes gold membership a no-brainer.

I'm after a handbook for my '99 LS400 Mk4. It was registered in January 1999 so presumably a 1998 build but 1999 'model year'. The handbooks seem hard to come by but I've seen a 1998 one up for sale. Are there any significant differences between the years? Mine has the satnav as standard but I have the separate manual for that. Any thoughts?
