  1. the second gen is from my knowledge.. if it comes with factory 18" wheels, they are 8j front and 8.5j rear with offset of 45.. So id say that they are probably running default tyres at 225/40/18 front and 255/40/18 rears. hope this helps you mate
  2. So i wanted to buy some wider wheels with a more aggressive stance and saw the XXR 527's in 18" 8.75j fronts and 9.75j rears, offset 20 all round My car is currently lowered on 35mm springs and wanted to know if id have any issues with fitment of these wheels at all and also what sort of tyres i should be running them at Was hoping you guys might have some experience and tips for me lol
  3. Previous owner might have thought that it has the same tyres all round without realising that the lexus comes stock with wider rear tyres and also the 18" wheels have a staggered fitment of 8j and 8.5j for the rears. Seems a bit silly to me if it was done on purpose!
  4. what size tyres are you running on them? et 20 and et 35? do you get any rubbing on the arches with these wheels? as the backs are pretty pokey! just wondering as i love the wheels might have to get a set if their not too much of a headache to cope with! mine is lowered 35mm on springs
  5. So tell me guys, where do you all get your wheels from? Maybe theirs a secret place that sells cheap wheels? :shruriken:
  6. yeah i know exactly what you mean steve, im just wondering how they would actually look if they were to be diamond cut as i can get 4 done for just under 200 quid i believe but unsure of the outcome.. also im finding it a real pain to find suitable centercaps for these as i wanted to keep a lexus feel to the wheels with the L centercaps, any ideas?
  7. Here we go, im looking to get my wheels refurbed sometime next week. Was thinking to go for another colour combination but thought might be able to get some ideas from you guys lol So fire away :) These are the wheels by the way
  8. always a problem trying to get things to actually stick to blutac! lol
  9. http://www.maplin.co.uk/6-led-flexible-magnetic-pick-up-tool-513259
  10. Yup I got one from maplins, literally just got it out, worked a treat so if any of you guys get in this situation, this is literally the way to go! So glad I got it out without taking the headlight off! Thanks for your help guys, saved a lot of time :)
  11. normski where can i buy such a tool from? i thought they might have it at halfords but nothing! just looking around want to get it sorted today as i dont want the bulb going in the other direction lol
  12. Was just changing my sidelight bulbs and the bulb has fallen through into the headlight :megaangry: Whats the best way to get the bulb out? any way of getting it out without actually taking the headlight off? Thanks
  13. yeah mate mine were badly corroded aswell so i stuck on some rota alloys. as for the squealing, i really didnt think changing discs and pads could make that much of a difference, guess i need to get mine checked out as mine are always squealing and averaging around 30mpg mixed driving which im not so happy about!
  14. you think it actually makes a difference on performance or not? ive heard that they dont actually change the drive much just how much you push the accelerator pedal
  15. anybody know if that apexi smart acceleration controller would work on a 220d?
  16. all sorted now, got the same as you!, turn out my headlights needed some serious realigning especially as the car has now been lowered, i really couldn't see anything when driving on motorways because of how low the cutoff line was but now its changes and forms a perfect z shape!
  17. anybody got a pic of the stock 17 inch multispoke alloys finished in black? thinking to get mine sprayed but wanted to see how they look beforehand. thanks
  18. is that even after it being lowered? i want to go for the same sort of look but mine is lowered 35mm already, just the spacers and stock 17" wheels
  19. I should be recieving my spacers tomorrow, i went for 20mm rear and 15mm front, i hope they work well and also look great! :)
  20. i like the ride of h&r springs but bear in mind this is the first car ive had thats been lowered! i feel that its quite a lot bouncier when going over speedbumps, need to be careful not to scrape the bumper. overall made the car sit very nicely and ride comfort hasnt changed too much, so quids in tbh lol would it be a good idea getting my steering allignment done after putting the spacers on?
  21. did u get around to tinting them mate?
  22. so if i got this right, 20mm spacers on the back will make my wheels technically 25mm offset from the 45mm it started with?
  23. So 15mm is the max I can go without rubbing on the front and if I go anymore than 20 on the back it will scrape too? Thank you for your reply though
  24. hi guys, so i have 18" rota p1's on my car, and h&r lowering springs, the wheels are 8jj and et 45 offest, wanted to fill the gap in the arches by getting some spacers, i was looking at 20mm spacers as their quite a big gap, do any of u guys know if they will rub or not? i believe fronts are 225/40/18 rears 245/40/18
