  1. It took me so long to get them to pay for the engine at their cost, I might just pay for the rad ill see what the service manager says if he doesn't budge then ill just pay for it, either way still better of than paying for a new engine
  2. Well at least I have a faint idea of what sort of results I should be looking at now, need to remember to be faulty gentle on the engine though, I do tend to have a hard foot sometimes lol
  3. ^^ I wish I could think of things like that to say when I was arguing with Lexus, they didn't really seem to care at first! Guess they got annoyed with my emails and complaints lol
  4. Im getting around 32-36 and that around town and motorway, aswell as the engine overheating once i go past 100 on the odd occassion. So if i get mpg like you are then id certainly be more than happy :D
  5. Ive got the head gasket problem as we speak and Lexus have finally agreed to sort it for me at their cost, so they are now going to fit a new engine for me on the 25th. I also had my last service done at another garage other than Lexus. I dont think it should matter to be quite honest as the car is still being maintained and serviced as it should regardless if its by Lexus or not.
  6. Anyone know how much the performance of this car is improved after having the new engines put in it? Lexus are changing mine due to the headgasket problem and just wanted to know how much better the car will run.. Better MPG, Better performance all round?
  7. You hit the nail on the head for me there! My cars going in for a new engine on the 25th so i assume that they will replace them for me there, fingers crossed.
  8. Unfortunately i dont have the extended warranty but just in my luck the engine was covered for a little longer. I really struggled to get it out of them but they agreed to fit a new engine after a whole month of fighting. So a new rad from Lexus is going to cost me £300? I really do hate how dealerships have to have such high prices for everything lol
  9. I need some of them for mine too, my engine covers are missing a few of them, I hope someone can help us. I've been meaning to ask on the forum about these clips. Haven't got around to going to Lexus about them yet but i suspect they will charge an extortionate amount just for the clips lol
  10. Well they've told me that mine needs a new rad too but have to pay for that myself however nothing for labour as their taking everything out the car anyway, but other than that its just the engine itself. I mean i can live without having a car for 5 days but if its likely for them to take longer i think it will probably be better for me to ask for a loan car because i hate taking trains to commute! Did you have the extended warranty by any chance RichC?
  11. They told me they would probably need the car for around 5 days for the work to be done, its booked in for the 25th of Feb, i just wanted to know how to go about getting a loan car from them and if it would cost or not. Never had a loan car from dealership before so have not the slightest clue how it works lol
  12. So finally I have got Lexus to agree to give me a new engine because of my headgasket problem on the Is220d. I just had one question that I didn't get around to asking them and that was would they offer me a courtesy car for the period of the repairs? I hope someone can help answer that for me.
  13. Ive got the same thing, a lot of rattling sound, bit more like a blown speaker if you ask me, however, ive taken of my subwoofer in mine and inspected it. I cant seem to find any tears or rips in it :megaangry: so now i dont know what to do. I do believe this is quite a common problem as the stock subs do appear to be quite fragile.
  14. My one has exactly the same problem but less mileage, mine has packed up after 16K miles, its quite ridiculous, im going to be popping over to the reading Lexus on Wednesday and see what they can do as mine has only covered 92K mileage and is a 07 plate.. not very happy
  15. I have got the exact same situation with my lexus is220d, so how did you get on in the end? im planning to give lexus a ring tomorrow and see what they can do, as my headgasket was done at 65k mileage and now its at 91 and it really does seem stupid and dissappointing to have it done again!!
  16. Hi there, so i just went and brought myself a Lexus IS220d a few days ago, with 91K on the clock and 2007 reg, my engine coolant seems to be losing water and is also at a very high pressure, even after the car has been parked for 2 days and not driven the coolant still gashes out when i try to open the cap, is this normal? Ive been told by a few people that it could be a possible headgasket, which im very afraid of as they are extremely expensive to get fixed! :( I was hoping some of you guys would be able to give me some advice, or might even know what the problem might be
