My o/s mirror has the same fault 50% of the time it jams and the other times is fine. When it jams I can still move it manually no prob, so I suspect some kind of software issue not a mechanical fault. If anyone knows of a fix I would be interested.

Hi, Had our 2008 RX400 for 6 months and absolutly love it! Regarding the fuel economy my personal experience is that until the engine reaches normal temp (approx 10-15 mins) it will not run on battery power alone. Ignore the previous post saying that they run on battery power only under 30mph, the computer decides what power input to use, it can run on petrol only at 15mph and can also run on battery only at 60mph. My wife uses car during week for work commute which is a 25 min stop start drive and gets approx 26mpg, Last weekend we drove from Sheffield to Alton Towers which is a 1.30 hr country drive each way and we averaged 37mpg (v happy). We have only had our car through winter months and I have been told that the MPG should improve with warmer weather. Not sure how these figures would compare with a non hybrid but I would highly recommend.

Mmmm, Did the reset, filled the tank and reset the computer. However on this tank full I did 287 miles and averaged 24.8 mpg !!!!!! Will try another ISC reset and see what happens this time.

Just found this solar battery charger that fits into the EOBD port, located under the fuel flap button. Looks like it could solve the prob of battery drain when parked up for long periods, and also gets around the issue of the cigarette lighter not being a permanent live. I have only had my 08 plate for a few months and not yet had a problem with the battery, however it has not been left for more than 2 days without a run. Hi, Thanks for your advise, I will Google the ISC reset proceure or might pop into my local Lexus (Sheff) to see if they can do it for me. Will advise if this makes any difference over the next few weeks.

I have been the proud owner of an 08 Plate RX400h SE-L for 3 months now and absolutly love the car however !!!! I am dissapointed in the MPG I am getting and am concerned there could be a problem with the Hybrid system or am I just expecting too much. I am averageing 26.5 MPG with a mix of city traffic and quiet country A roads. The tyre pressures are correct and I am using BP not supermarket fuel. I am also driving like a light footed grandad and lifting off the gas whenever possible. Looking at the fancy power graphics my battery very rarely goes into green and has never shown completely full, also I can be driving at 20mph on the flat with good battery charge but still the engine kicks in. Is this normal or should I book in for a check as I understand the Hybrid System has a 5 yr warranty ???
