    Mpg

Well here I am again. Still disappointed with the mpg and was going to get rid of the car as previously mentioned, but hung in there and still got it. I might have to change my style of driving and not be to heavy on the throttle. 42-45 mpg.
  2. Well he's not only a petrolhead he's also a knobhead.
  3. Why is everyone still talking miles per gallon, when we all (apart from the Americans) buy our fuel in litres, and their gallon is different to the imperial gallon anyway. Surely its easier to work out miles per litre ?
  4. Adam..consider myself told off. I initially bought the ct for the mpg advertised by the brochures plus the 'sexy' styling of the exterior and quality etc of the interior. I do two/three trips to Spain annually each round trip about 2000 miles including running around while there. My around town at home would probably work out about 3000/4000 miles. Taking this into account I thought it would be a good all-rounder? But very disappointed with the mpg, acceleration noise and hard ride. I have been looking at other motors but none have come close to the styling of the ct so I'm still in Limbo at the moment.
  5. Well I've just driven to Spain and back for the umpteenth time and all I can say is I am more than a tad disappointed with the fuel average. This time it was around the 45 mpg. The performance (even in sport mode at higher speed) very poor. Looking at comments I think most are of the same opinion that the various modes are just a gimmick. Taking into account: the ride, the no tow bar option, No spare wheel although I have added one. So I have decided to get rid. I'm sure I won't have any regrets.
  6. Looks like my next car could be a Jag.
  7. Nice reply Geof. It's a pity the manufacturers don't listen to the punters. It would save them on initial cost to have a tried and tested sat nav system that can be updated on a computer. (and something that works). I'm sure Garmin or the likes would be able to do a deal considering how many motors they would accommodate.
  8. Martin. I totally agree with all you have mentioned. The sat nav is a load of crap. My ct is a 2011 and we were thinking of upgrading to this years Fsport but after having a chat with our dealer listing a few issues we have had with our car I have decided to stick with the one we've got as there doesn't seem much advantage compaired to what we have now. Getting back to the satnav we were told the same thing but they shrugged their shoulders as well. If I do decide later to upgrade to the 2014 model I would definitely not have the satnav built in. I use a Garmin stuck to the wind screen and it works a treat.
  9. Nice reply Geof but those days are long gone. Even the attitude of the dealers change unless they are selling you another model. All aside though I pity the person who buys Simons car unless they sort it.
  10. Is there any update on the mpg?
  11. Well here's my tuppence worth: As I explained in the 'Whats your best average' forum (14 October 2013). Mine was around 41 mpg, and that was motorway driving through France down to Spain at speeds quicker than the u.k. limit. However since then I have done a full tank to full tank (admittedly it's around town for the duration) and averaged the paltry total of 39.8 mpg. No I'm not a boy racer and I don't wear lead boots. As my nom de plume says I'm an 'Old Git' I must admit I am disappointed with these figures but a vast improvement on the mpg of my 'Landcruiser Amazon' so I'm sticking with the Lexus.
  12. Any of you guys have pictures of the finished article?
  13. I totally agree with you Geoff. These things should be 'standard' considering how much Lexus cars cost in the first place. I would like to have the wing mirrors automatic retractable when the ignition is turned off and a switch to do the same when in narrow situations while manoeuvring.
  14. We haven't done a full tank to full tank work out but will do. Most of the time the air con is on, possible to have some effect on consumption.
  15. I DONT KNOW HOW YOU GUYS DO IT. MY AVERAGE IS ABOUT 41 MPG. ALTHOUGH THE GRAPH FIGURES SHOW MY BEST MPG 55. DO YOU ALL LIVE IN HOLLAND WITH NO HILLS AROUND YOU.
  16. Hi Michael Well done. You fitted yours almost identical to the way I fitted mine, only I used strips of plastic. Great job, and still a useable space around the wheel. I had cruise control retro fitted for £168.00 (to me it should have been included in the original build for 'that' extra cost, as it wouldn't have put me off buying it added on initially) (I bought a used previously car). Keep the info coming...
  17. Thanks for the info Geoff. I got in touch with Anthony Wilson who gave me details and contacted our local dealer with the info and have now had the cruise control fitted. And it works a treat.
  18. Can anyone help me to set up a route on the sat nav. I have tried and just can't get it together. The trouble is I have a Garmin and really used to it as it is so simple. Just enter an address and press go and Bob's your uncle.
  19. Hi Wass The retro cruise control sounds like an option I would like to have fitted on our ct200h. However we live don't live in Britain, is it possible you could give me an idea of cost to have this done before I trouble our local dealer (who isn't that helpful). Cheers Michael
  20. My ct 200h is 2011 after fitting the space saver, I have noticed that the puncture 'repair goo' has a replacement date that expires in 2014 (a shelf life of three years?) another ongoing expense by not fitting a spare as standard.
  21. Thanks for that post David. I was very tempted to buy the tray to fit over the space saver. I definately won't now. I have cut some 1/4 inch thick plastic, just wide enough to fit into the rebate, to make up the gap to allow the original carpeted floor to still fit flush. Then taped it down (the plastic, don't laugh) with duck tape, actually it doesn't look too bad. This will do until i come up with a more quality option.
  22. Nice bit of kit Seth. Where did you order it. 'torquequipt' doesn't come up with anything? Mick
  23. Hi Geof Thanks for your reply and extremely helpful solutions. On reflection I will go for the extension lead option, as like you I will only use it a couple of times a year so it makes sense. Cheers Mick
  24. Does anyone know if it's possible to fit a power/cigar socket in the boot. In my instance it would be used for a cooler box. Can it be done by a non pro motor electrical expert. Where would you connect the secondary socket wires. Would it be ok to take a feed from the back of the original socket. Or would it be better to have the pros deal with it. Any help please?
