Hi Jim - love the P6, my friends dad had a 2200 TC and I am also a fan of the SD1 as my brother owned a V8 3500SE in the mid to late 80s....car interiors are not what they once were and it is nice to see a personal touch. Most modern car interiors I think are dull and uninspiring places to be, a case in point is my aforementioned brother who owns an Audi A6 - very well made although inside is typically teutonic. Mike, you could try this:

Looks good Mike....now all you need is a windscreen banner saying 'Mike and....(don't know your wifes name) plus a huge Peco exhaust poking out the back to tell the Saxo drivers where its at haha :D :D :D Seriously though, a nice touch and my uncle had these carpets in his series 3 Jaguar Sovereign. Stunning as they were you felt like you had to wear slippers and smoke a pipe!

Thanks for all your comments - I'm afraid I don't know how to enlarge the text, you could always cut and paste into word, enlarge and print out per stage. Ahhh - if your PC/laptop has a mouse with a scroll wheel, you can hold down CTRL and at the same time roll the mouse wheel and zoom interactively....works a treat

Full four seat convertible - how about this? I think they are very attractive with top up or down and have already achieved 'classic' status with prices moving up quickly, some of the best examples fetch £25k. They are highly sought after and were built in the days at Mercedes when quality was put above everything else. If you want power, then go for the 320 CE. As with most Mercs, they are automatic and so your wife can drive it too :outforcount:

I think they are quite distinctive although in my opinion a real acquired taste - the design does not really appeal to me although I do like many cars that would be considered a 'leftfield' choice for example the aforementioned Datsun Laurel, Nissan 300c, Subaru SVX, Fiat 130 coupe....the list is endless and I even love a Unimog! How about a Honda S2000? - my friend owns one and I have driven it and have to say it is very good with that high revving V-Tec engine and they are easy on the eye too.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen - my choice of Lexus dealers are Lincoln or Cambridge, both approx. an hour either way....purchased a Varta silver with 5 year guarantee for my BMW, so I don't have a problem with buying a quality aftermarket battery like this or a Bosch for example and fit it myself as then I can clean everything up properly including the undertray etc. All I know is that the LS is quite power hungry and apparently it takes around 11 volts just to power the display! maybe I should put a solar panel on the roof :outforcount:

Hi all, time for my LS to have a new battery as taking longer to crank - checked alternator and all ok. What size do I need for my 1997 Mk3? the one that was in the car when I bought it does not fit the tray or the clamp correctly and it is a GM/Vauxhall type!! Also if anyone could tell me the correct - Ah, DIN, Amps etc. Many thanks as usual to anyone who can help and hope you are all enjoying the sun. Jeremy :outforcount:

I posted here with the same leak and have now fixed my passenger side. We have had heavy rain here on a number of occasions over the past few weeks and the 'fixed' side has remained bone dry with no further evidence of water. I still need to do the driver side as water piddles in from the tweeter and then drips down the door card. Hopefully I can do it this weekend and I will post a guide on how to....it is all relatively straightforward I am pleased to say and in my experience the leak definitely comes from behind the chrome trim surround on the door.

Hi Keith, This happened on my BMW - if you are experiencing a judder through the steering wheel on braking, then it will definitely be your discs and pads. If there is not much left on the pads and you can smell burning as you say, then you are grinding metal. The evidence was clear to see on my BM - and after a few days of use I could see that there was a heavier than normal deposit of brake dust on one of the wheels compared to the others. After a journey of around 20 miles or so, I could smell the burning too and even feel the heat from the wheel. I had exactly the same as you - vibration got worse as the brakes heated up and then when I left the car , they cooled down sufficiently to the point where the judder was slight but still obvious. My brake sensor light on the dash was not illuminated. As Gen says, the only way to check is by taking off your wheels and having a look at the condition of your pads/discs. Jeremy
