get the warranty mate as my head gasket went and lexus told me to do one, 57 plate 78k miles, 1 missing stamp from 8 and Ive had none done yet as it went withing 5 weeks, also the vsc is another problem, cover your back mate asmy head gasket was £1200 from a independent garage, think what lexus would charge????
-
what average are your readings off as there are 2. mine is sitting very low at the moment around 30 for tank average and 34 for average. has your car had the head gasket changed as this is very common, mine went within 5 weeks of me owning it (78k miles) and ive had the vsc warning light which resulted in a new egr being fitted. ive had the car about 6 months and its been away for about 2 months and has seriously pushed me to the limit as lexus is always in the top 3 of reliability, I have the sport model so I know my mpg will be slightly down from a normal lexus but this is terribly low for a diesel

ive had a new egr valve fitted and now my fuel economy according to the trip computer is worse, the "avg tank" has dropped from 37-30.2mpg and the "avg" has gone from 36-34mpg, also the car now idles at 1200rpm instead of the ysual 700rpm, any ideas on this and would an ecu reset help I do have a sport version as well

had a new valve fitted Friday after my check engine light and vsc warning came on and was diagnosed from lexus as egr valve, now I have it back it now idles at 1200rpm instead of 700rpm although sometimes it does drop back to 700rpm then back to 1200rpm. also my average fuel tank before was 34-35mpg and now after 50 miles on the new valve its saying 29mpg at cruising speed of 72mph. i know its so soon after the fitting but this surely isn't right is it? ps, i have the sport edition so i know my mpg will be down on other lexus' the egr wasn't done by lexus so would the ecu need resetting after a new valve being fitted

spoke to lexus Cambridge and there customer services and there both still trying to fob me off, I have an outside warranty with the rac and I believe that lexus Cambridge tried going through them (twg) instead of going through lexus warranty as they haven't had a claim go in, Cambridge told me they use twg for outside warranties but surely this is a lexus problem as Toyota have already made the stipulations about what cars are covered
-
I heard back from lexus and they have told me my car isn't covered by there extended warranty, here is there excuses. not all my stamps are lexus, ( 2 out of 7 are) missing 1 service stamp car is to old, (registered in jan 07) I told them all this was pony as I read the ad warranty from Toyota then they said because my car isn't lexus approved and was bought from an independent garage that's another reason, I have spoke to lexus Cambridge and there customer relations, where else or what else can I do? I spoke to the head bloke at Cambridge and he said when he filed the warranty claim it came back auto denial!! I knew lexus would try weaselling out of this, absolutely terrible customer services as they know its a common fault, is the office of fair trading worth going to
-
just over 2 months ive own it. there trying to weasel out of it by saying not all the stamps are lexus (2 are) and there was no stamp in 2011, but these things are nothing to do with me and a service wouldn't effect the head gasket. she was going on about they may do a good will gesture depending what the warranty bloke says, I know they will look for anything not to pay or to pay as little as special but im not to concerned as I got a rac warranty when I bought the car so someone is paying out
-
Mate i have the same problems and.took.mine to an independent garage yesterday to look at and reckons its the head gasket. Going to lexus Friday as i have an extended warranty with the rac as i only got my car 2 months ago. Am i only right in thinking this is a common fault and lexus will do free repair on a head gasket failure if your mileage is under 106k miles. Mines a 57 plate

honestly normski the less i have to fiddle with the better, i have seen them 2 bolts at the back and did very quickly try to see if i could get to them with a small exstension bar but no luck and the big bar is to long with the battery in. does the battery just need the 2 terminals removed like a standard battery as i saw a connector on the side of the outer casing and looks like that needs disconnecting? sorry to be a pain but does anyone have the link for the window resetting if i remove the battery, i did see it on this forum somewhere -

i was running late on saturday seeing my daughter so i set the cruise to 82mph when i normally cruise at 70-72mph and tbh the fuel used appeared to be the same, on the sport at that speed it was only on 2400k revs -
