My sills have bubbled and I had to have welding work done for MOT a year or 2 ago as they poked a hole in it and the result come daylight is shockingly ugly. Unfortunately there's little I can do about it and I have noone local to Bristol/Bath I can trust to do the big job without fleecing me so I've just had to let it get worse. Mine is 03 reg so it's hard to justify the investment but a car this beautiful yet beastly deserves to run until the engine goes.

This sounds remarkably familiar since by 03 reg IS300 had the engine light come on a month or 2 ago and I borrowed a friends OBD2 to see that it was O2 bank1 sensor2 at fault. We reset it but it came back on the next day. I've since had a bunch of expensive work done by the main dealer to fix other problems (caliper, pad, disc etc) but they had to wait for the sensor to come in stock. It's now come in stock but it was about £250 all in which I found too expensive. I've since gone to local recommended garages (Bristol/Bath) and the only quote I've got back was about £280 which shocked me. If it is indeed the sensor just off the side of the engine then it is very accessible and I'd be tempted to change it myself if I had the right tools. I've definitely not just changed my oil! However I'm unsure if a sensor change will fix it since another issue I've had is a slight rattling (particularly when idle in drive) over a year or so that noone has diagnosed but now the local garages suggested since this sensor is related to the CAT that it may be the CAT that is rattling. This kinda scares my wallet a bit but it would be nice to sort it.

There just seems to be so many different types of them - numbers of leds on them, arrangements of leds etc - hoped to get the same ones someone has already confirmed fit without adjusting etc and give good spread

HIya - do you have any links to where I could order the right ones in the UK? Or is it a case of anywhere selling any labelled T5 and T10 I can use?

I'm not trying to pimp mine up - they've started dying so "I need to do 80 to see how fast I'm going officer" :P I considered blue cos it looks somewhat cool but as I'm likely leaving the centre console and keyhole orange I thought maybe do white instead. Attached is how they look currently ... Any clarification/links would be great - it'd be nice to get done on my week off now! Also, I like to drive with my sidelights on for visibility (helped when I had front LEDs as sidelights too which I currently don't anymore) and cos my rear lights look cool (imo) haha but in the day this dims the dash/console lights which is annoying. Short of leaving main lights on whole time rather than sides I don't know how I can get round this? :(

[NB - just dug through invoices and found MOT notes from last December - says "front disc worn, pitted or scored - but not seriously weakened" - it says the same about "rear disc" but doesnt' say which. Maybe I'm looking at 4 new ones then? Tbh I'm used to Toyota garage replacing everything rather than just leaving notes about it like Lexus have it seems] Thanks for the thoughts - well before it was washed the other day the driver side one looked clearly different to the other because instead of the usual signs of radial wear, the wear would skip little bits on its way round - as it were. Hard to describe but it made sense that in places it wasn't being rubbed and others it was. And yes when turning sideways hard things don't seem quite right and the wobbling under heavy breaking is indeed concerning and a big clue - and primary motivation to get it sorted. Now you mention holding brakes on a lot I guess I am rather guilty of that and have generally only thought about the consequences on brakelights staying on rather than the discs staying clamped - especially when you have 5 like I do now :D Perhaps I'll switch to N+handbrake more often if it will save on discs too. In the meantime I guess I can look for discs or disc+pad combos online and compare to tradeprice OEMs. Anyone have any particular recommendations? I've been driving this one 1.5y and its only recently bringing the wobbling to the forefront.

So I've noticed recently on my 03 IS300 that it was a bit shuddery under breaking, and that if I listened with the windows open while driving slowly I could hear the typical soft whooshy sound every cycle of the wheels as I drove past things - seeminly from the driver side. I got my mate to take a look and he said it appears my driver side front disc is warped as the rubbing on it wasn't uniform and seemed to skip sections. I just tried to take some photos of it just now in hard sunlight and couldn't really see my phone screen well so the results aren't good but to me they appear identical mostly on both front sides - this may be because it hasn't really moved since I hosed it down a couple days ago? Maybe it needs some driving/breaking to be visible. He also said he could get me lexus discs at trade prices and I shouldn't bother getting the local lexus dealership to do the job as it's only an hour to do them both if he did it. But then I like the simplicity and peace of mind of just paying for a garage to sort parts/labour and get the job done in a visit. Anyone have any thoughts? Pics may be useless until I've driven it a bit.
