  1. Hi update Sorry I cant make it now gutted, my car has been booked into the Lexus dealership for the 4th time on the 23rd for a week since buying the car back in april I have had a clanging sound when setting off with the steering right hand down so my apologies.
  2. Hi Chris if its over spray go to your local decorating merchants and get some wonder wipes they are like hand wipes but for getting oil based paints off your hands I've have used them to get red paint off my leather seats which where a light colour I suggest you do a test patch some where out of the way and decide if its for you ,when finished I wiped the area with a soapy rag and conditioned the leather.
  3. I had a 2009 RX 400H 38,000 on the clock and had this problem too had the balancing and tracking checked had Lexus check it to no avail, checked tyre pressure weekly in the end it cost me two new tyres must be a Lexus trait.
  4. Hi Vicente I have the RX450h f-sports I was not happy either about not having the ML stereo that my last car had but having had my new car for two months now I cant complain about the quality I also miss the touch screen that my old car had but I am assuming Lexus is trying to save money and in my opinion going the wrong way about it these little touches made Lexus brand what it was regards peter.
  5. PS just read earlier posts camping idea dead lol where's everyone meeting up at the museum so I can find all you Lexus owners .
  6. Afternoon all new member here before I put my name down where is everyone deciding to camp for the night, fancy a night under the stars drinking beers and eating burgers lol cheers peter.
  7. Hi Pete yes checked the brakes they are ok I have just spoken to the manager he is going to arrange for a Lexus specialist to come down and spend a couple of hours checking the car over. But like we agreed with the fault being intermittent it might not happen while he is there, so I will have to wait and see what happens and take it from there as for the car itself, looks and feels fantastic ride is great fuel consumption is excellent but it's just the little bits that you don't expect from a Lexus car which is letting it down my last Lexus which I had for 4 years never went back to Lexus accept for a service and two new tyres lol would be interesting to know if anyone else has had this problem. thanks for the advice speak soon bye
  8. Morning Ste thank you for the advice meeting with the manager tomorrow I will look up the sale of goods act today as for the patience of a saint don't ask my wife lol I sold our last Lexus without her knowledge and surprised her with the new one she was not happy she loved the old one so much. I will say the staff have been fantastic in trying to resolve these issues some like the tracker being faulty is not there fault , as for the metal clanging I don't think they even know what it is I will update you tomorrow on what happens thanks for the advice regards peter.
  9. Morning Having read your reply I think I will give the manager a ring today, I have had the car since march and I feel I've never been away from Lexus the amount of times I have been back their. it started with having a tracker fitted and when fitted the device did not work so had to go back the following week to get another one fitted, then found out the cd player did not work so had to wait a week to get a new one to find out Lexus had sent the wrong one, had to wait another week to get another one to only to find out when fitted the computer had crashed and would not reboot and when I got it back discovered scratches on the glove compartment door and the front panel of the cd panel not including the 3 times it been back for the metal clanging noise. I must say the Lexus staff have been fantastic to resolve the issues but I am falling out of love with this car which is a shame because it should be a great car .Ok enough of a moan back to the issues scratches to glove compartment door buffed out scratches to opaque panel still their and can only be seen in certain sunlight the service manager said they will replace it if I cant live with it but it involves putting in another full cd system as the panel does not come separate as for the metal clanging noise it is intermittent and a mechanic sat in the car and he heard it but changing the rack has had no effect. It only used to happen when reversing or driving off at an angle but wife informed me last night it happened while driving straight ahead I have had the car for about 8 weeks with two of those weeks being in the Lexus garage so at this moment in time at a cross roads regards unhappy Lexus owner :megaangry:
  10. Evening all I hope someone can help me please I have purchased a new rx 450 h and I have had a few problems with this car, but the main one now is when I reverse or set off at an angle their is a metal clanging sound from under the bonnet its been back to Lexus a couple of times to be fixed and on the last time they had it for a week and changed the steering rack but guess what still clanging I don't know if I should just leave it or send it back any advice you can give me I would be grateful.
