  1. Hi Phil £85 sounds the going rate we sell Lucas batteries 3 models for each size of battery an LC, an LP and varta LC = 2 year guarantee LP = 3 year guarantee varta = 4 year guarantee so when buying your battery try and get a three year one so if the battery fails in its 3rd year say you get a new battery which should last another 3 years thus getting a battery for 6 years for £85 regards peter.
  2. Morning Phil Looking in my battery application book it recommends a Lucas premium 249H 91AH 780 cca length 302 width 172 height 225 hopes this helps regards peter.
  3. I am afraid it doesn't work like that anymore my mate got his car damaged the guy was caught in the act arrested charged and fined he said he could only afford to pay £5 a month he made two payments and nothing more in todays society you are looked after and sent on nice holidays if you misbehave.
  4. Hi I have had at least 20 car owners coming into my shop over the last fortnight with damaged cars from broken aerials to being keyed one last week a lad walked down the street smashing all the wing mirrors of every car he passed about a dozen I believe and when he got to the end there was a cop car when arrested they asked him why and he replied I had an argument with my girlfriend and wanted to take it out on something the following day he was released but not before being told he was a very naughty boy.ps he lives in the street he did the damage.
  5. Got to admit That looks a hundreds times better, maybe another pass with the needle and the whole door buffed up should be near enough perfect glad to see it has worked to some extent thanks for the pics regards peter.
  6. Hi there We are having the same sort of problem on a new f-sports but only when we do a right hand down or left hand down reverse or setting off ours is a metal clanging noise we have had both front suspensions and top joints re-placed and steering rack re-placed we have had the trouble shooter down from UK Lexus with no joy and as we speak my car is in the dealers for the umpteenth time having 3 days of echo tests done the Lexus mechanic and the service manager admit they are at a loss and don't know what to do next is this the same as you regards peter.
  7. the only two codes I can find for the is in green going up to 2008 is 6R4 and 6U3 which is a mid green metallic
  8. Hi jp just to throw a spanner into the works just looking on my paint system and 6R4 comes up as Lexus dark green mica
  9. Good Luck its the cheapest option and will hide the white primer but it will suffice in the short term as like me I don't think you will be happy until its perfect once again good luck.
  10. hi again If your going to Halfords they sell the needle bottle I was on about but they wont sell it as a single you have to buy a bigger touch up bottle and they will chuck the bottle you need at an extra cost think you will be looking at about £16 from Halfords if they give you the excuse they cant mix it in the small bottle tell them to put a mix of a 0.025 litre formula in the comp good luck lets us know how you get on but remember have a practice first its not easy regards peter.
  11. Hi JP Wilson Feel you pain mate, if all else fails I mix my own aerosols and touch up pens and brushes, go to your local car accessory shop see if they can make a small bottle of touch up paint the ones I have you can unscrew the lid which reveals a small brush or this which could be your answer pull the lid off to reveal a needle which you insert into the scratch and as it follows the contour you squeeze the bottle to fill the gap with paint the idea being the needle stays in the gap and doesn't slip its just another idea to poss try anyway good luck lets us know how you get on regards peter.
  12. HI I've not heard of this one ,but I do know if you want all the windows opening at the same time and not in the car you can press and hold down the unlock button which will open all the windows, also what I be asking is why your interior sensors never set the alarm off is there a possibility someone unlocked the car by accident but I am sure a member on here will have an idea why it happened and will reply soon regards and welcome peter
  13. Cheers Ian Good idea about the local tabloid will see what the outcome is and keep it in reserve , also john when you say the dealer principal who do you mean is that the owner of the dealership, and if so how would I find out his name and address. whatever the outcome thank you very much for your best wishes regards peter.
  14. Well today is the 4th and of 9.00am my car has gone back to the dealers for the umpteen time and for the final time I hope, for the echo test which Lexus Uk are adamant they want before going any further. I don't see the point myself as I am confident the test will shed no light on the saga and will still not solve the problem and as I have already told the dealer and Lexus I don't want the car now and it is not fit for purpose. So I will wait for the tests to finish and then its both barrels as I want a quick and speedy resolution and the only end result I will except is a new car. same car same colour same interior so if your reading this Lexus uk do the right thing four months of clanging and numerous times car left in dealers workshop for work to be done is not right its not what I expect of you , and if its not sorted then this will be my last Lexus. sorry guys Friday morning whinge is over now lol here's hoping peter.
  15. I just been looking through my application guide book and I say 90% of Lexus cars state Dot 4 all but 3 are down for dot 3 which are GS300-berline 3ltr 94-97 LS400-Berline V8 90-95 LS400 - Berline V8 97- onwards but take nothing for granted check you manual before putting anything in do some home work and as Steve says get a new unopened bottle only around £2.50 for 250ml regards peter.
  16. I have been dealing with Lexus customer services for about two weeks now first time I got a lovely lady who was very helpful the second time I got a gentleman who I can only describe as void of any emotion and sounded like he was reading from a pre written excuse list I am sorry but before we can go any further we have to follow Lexus protocol before we can discuss any other options we might have I was hopeful of a quick and satisfying outcome but reading these comments I don't know I always check my mileage before leaving it overnight and to be fare the dealer always rings me to ask if they can take it out over night for tests please keep us informed on how you do regards peter.
  17. Hi Ian Can you put me and the wife down provisionally wont know for certain till up to the last minute due too on-going issues with the car, but would love to put names to faces and chat to other members here's hoping hopefully peter and Lynne.
  18. Hi john You are right we have lost faith in the vehicle because no one can tell us what the problem is therefore no one can tell us if it is doing any damage . As you say Steve 2006 and Ian S200 are both correct and the only way forward is to replace the car which is the only option I will now accept as for the protocols that is Lexus Uk before they will discuss anything else with the dealer thank you for the best wishes will keep you all updated regards peter
  19. Hi Ian I have rung both parties now and said I don't want the car Lexus uk have come back to say before any decision is made they have a protocol to follow that's why they are insisting on this echo test which they say should of been done earlier .As you said i have been to patient but my patience is all gone now I have fallen out of love with the car and don't want it .So I have given myself till Thursday and if I don't hear anything from either of them then they will get both barrels and other parties will be involved here's hoping it doesn't come to that but if it does I am well prepared and have more than enough evidence to prove the car is not fit for purpose regards peter.
  20. Morning dorcas It only makes the clanging sound when we are reversing or going forward when doing a full right or left hand down manoeuvre the sound I can only describe as if you imagine a suspension spring pulled tight then released hitting the metal plate that noise when it does go off it now sends a bad vibration under the floor and its getting worse so I am now waiting for someone to let me know what is are next step will keep you all informed regards peter.
  21. Well welcome back Lexus lovers to my saga I got the car back off the dealers after having the Lexus uk trouble shooter have a look at it and even having more work done on it but to no avail, Its still making the clanging noise but now has got much worse , I have rang the dealer and Lexus Uk and told them the car is not fit for purpose and I want a new car like for like. Lexus uk have asked the dealer to perform a final test which is an echo test to pin down the noise exactly . Not holding my breath Lexus uk say they have to follow protocol before any decision can be made I will let you all know the outcome bye for now peter
  22. Hi purple badger I am going to have a look at mine today and see how I get on as for the rubber replacements they are very easy to fit just pull out your old rubber, measure and cut the new one, I have a pair of special cutters for this but a small hacksaw will do fine making sure to measure from the locking pins end if you cut them off then you have to start again slide the rubber in along the groves cut end first and when fully in the two locking pins will keep it in place the replacement blades can be bought as singles and up to 28inch in length. we sell these replacement rubbers for £2 each so go to your local car accessories shop and ask for a replacement rubber for your bosch wiper blade hope this helps regards peter.
  23. hi tallyho I own a car accessories business and mix my own aerosol's and if a customer comes in with the paint code then I have never had a problem with the match the only times I have had a problem is when the I have been given the wrong code or if the car colour has faded over time to look totally different to the new can but saying that it only takes a couple of tiny drops of paint to alter the colour it has to be precise and if the operator was in a rush then it always end in a bad colour but I hope you get your colour sorted out and is the perfect match regards peter.
  24. I have had black and silver but my favourite one is the one I have now which is artic white takes a lot of cleaning but when cleaned its a head turner
  25. Hello all again Just an update since my last letter I have had the car back about a week after the car being back at the dealers yet again for 4 days and having more new parts fitted (guess what it still clangs) . I have now had to book the car back in for another week of tests for the 23rd of this month so a specialist from Lexus can go to the dealership and work with the technicians to resolve this problem here's hoping. which means I now cant make the Lexus meet on the 23rd gutted , this will be the 4th time the car has been back in for this problem I will say the Lexus dealership and staff have been fantastic trying to solve this problem and admit to scratching there heads as they have never come across this problem before on a new car and they are hoping the man from Lexus might have some ideas or information from another dealer on their database from around the globe regarding this issue. I get the feeling everything is being pinned on the Lexus guy to solve the problem as all other options have been tried, i will keep you updated but my apologies for not being able to get to the meet regards peter
