  1. Just wondering has anyone found a way to turn satnav voice commands on and off easily and safely whilst driving? One tap on my Tom Tom Via screen and it is on or off immediately. (I have a CT Luxury Nav) Many thanks
  2. Adam, Many thanks for the info regarding fully charged battery and regeneration!! Robin
  3. Just a thought on regen braking - what happens to the excess electricity generated after the battery is showing "full" and you are still descending a steep hill?? Many thanks Robin
  4. Malcolm, Colin, Thank you for your thoughts! Colin how do you get the fuse box cover off?? - Mine seems to be very firmly shut!! Cheers Robin
  5. Mike, Thanks for the post - astonishing value and a rear camera as well!! I take your point about the distraction of the camera screen but in my research I have checked many manuals and the better cameras do allow the screen to go blank after a predetermined time. I'll add your suggested camera to my short list! Robin
  6. Hi! I am considering installing a dash cam in my CT200h and hard wiring it into the fuse box. There are simple devices available which enable an extra circuit to be added to the fuse box into which you can plug in the cigarette power supply for the camera:- http://www.carcamerashop.co.uk/piggy-back-fuse-holder.html http://www.carcamerashop.co.uk/12v-cigarette-lighter-power-socket-adapter.html It seems that it is important to use the dash cam supplied adapter as many of them step down the car's 12volts which means that you could blow the dash cam by cutting off the cigarette plug off and wiring it into the car's fuse box directly . 1. Has anyone hard wired a dash cam into their CT and if so which fuse did you take the power supply from? 2. I have located the fuse box cover using the handbook but have yet to manage to open the cover!! There is a small catch just below the glove box but it doesn't seem to release anything!! - any suggestions as I don't really want to force anything. 3. Does anyone have any thoughts on the neatest way to route the cable around the window / pillar? 4. Any recommendations on which dash cam is the best? - There are dozens available - I am currently looking at the Mio Myvue 538 De luxe:- http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/cameras-camcorders/camcorders/dash-cams/mio-mivue-538d-dashboard-camera-black-text-duplicated-10024432-pdt.html Any other thoughts on dash cams generally would be appreciated. Many thanks for reading and I look forward to any comments. Robin
  7. Nice! Who was the salesman? Was it Jason Gregory? He's the only person there who actually cares about the customers! Ill be brutally honest - Lexus Bradford sucked the last time I went to them before they were part of the RRG group. 2 years ago, I went to view an RX450h F Sport to compare colours as they had a black one and a white one. I said I wanted to buy knowing which colour I wanted and they didnt call back - ended up losing £50k worth of business in the end. I was with another salesperson as Jason Gregory had gone to Land Rover! I tried a few times and gave up - went 30 miles away instead to Stockport who gave me the best deal and better service! I wonder if they've changed now they're part of the RRG group Hi!! I wasn't aware that RRG had only been involved with Lexus Bradford for the last two years - but I can only speak as I find and I have been pleased with their service - so perhaps RRG have turned things around!!
  8. When I purchased my new 2014 CT200h from Lexus Bradford in March this year I was very impressed with the service I received and also with a Lexus branded ball pen the sales person gave me!! I have used the pen a great deal since April and I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised when eventually the ink ran out!! As I knew I would be passing the dealership I thought I would call in to see if I could get a replacement but the salesman I spoke to informed me that unfortunately there were no more available but that he would see what he could do. He popped into the sales office and came back out with one of the office biros, took it apart, extracted the refill and checked it against mine - a perfect fit!! - So I now have a fully functioning "Lexus" pen again!! An empty biro isn't all that big a deal but I was impressed that Lexus Bradford had taken the trouble to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction - I wonder how many other dealerships would have taken the trouble??!!! I must say I am really enjoying the CT!!!!
  9. Rich, I couldn't agree more with the need to have a one click way of turning voice commands on and off. My Tom Tom Via does this perfectly. I have resigned myself to using the navigation system without voice commands. - At least the screen splits into two on the approach to turn instructions - which does give a visual reminder. Using the most appropriate map scaling for the journey is a big help and generally on cross country trips the no sound option is OK - if the journey includes a tricky city trip I use the Tom Tom. I can't see why a firmware update can't be produced which would allow, say, a two click operation to mute / unmute. Loving the CT though!!
  10. After 2k mine is now getting 55 mpg - based on brim to brim readings. This is on mainly A, B and unclassifed roads with about 200 long motorway runs. Very little town driving. Hopefully this will further increase as the car loosens up more. I generally use the normal driving mode, occasional use of sport for overtaking and a growing use of Eco mode for a smoother ride for passengers. Really enjoying the CT after getting used to the change in driving style - following umpteen years driving conventional cars!!
  11. Citroen cactus? But its so not a CT. Citroen need to package the concept considerably more attractively, they could start by moving design, engineering and production out of France and into say er Japan and then work in conjunction with a well known local outift in Tahara, Aichi, oh er say Lexus. The Citroen idea is mildly attractive but I think that the self preservation thing was perfected some time ago with the concept of the series 1 landrover. A series 1 landrover would clearly solve the supermarket parking expert issue but it still isnt a CT. :) :)
  12. Could this car body feature be the way forward??? :) :) http://www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/motoring/car-reviews/richard-hammond-citroen-cactus-sharp-3769909
  13. Steve, Thanks for the explanation.
  14. Thanks for the info... the wiring loom!! - But I suppose it is a concern. Just out of interest were you insured through Lexus insurance? So far I am very pleased with my CT and have just returned from a week's holiday touring Herefordshire. I am begining to feel very much at home in the car after driving conventional gearbox cars for more years than I care to say! Comfortable, economical, stylish, versatile, compact and different!!!
