Wow!... did not expect it to arrive so quickly!

No problem... It worked OK for me and proved to be a cheap and reasonable solution. Let me know how you get on.

  2. So, I have a factory fitted lexus 30 pin connector in my glove box which is operated via the "disc" button on my dash. When connected, the iPod I use comes up with a little lexus sign on the screen and it plays fine. What I want to be able to do, is to stream music/digital radio from my iPhone 6s to my car via Bluetooth. I spotted this Layen device on Amazon and contacted them, explaining the above and asking if this product would work - they said no!!! However, it seems as if you have a similar set up and yet you have had some joy. Do you see any reason as to why it would t work for me? Ste
  3. I'm also considering adding DAB to my 400h. So any reports on having this successfully fitted would be welcomed!! I would also opt for the Pure 300 unit.
  4. Ive had a look and there is nothing untoward I can see. There is no water damage or anything like that. I assume that when the water enters the the space between the roof and the roof lining, that it channels away and drains out somewhere. Or, I have a problem. If anyone takes there car though a car wash, could they pull back the moon roof cover (keep the moon roof shut) and watch for any drips of water.
  5. I believe that if they sell you the warranty (which manchester did) then they should honour any repairs under the warranty without question. Any issues they have between dealerships and warranty issuer should be resolved internally without dragging me into the middle of it. It looks unprofessional and customers should not be subjected to it. I always manage to get a courtesy car. I do book well ahead. At least a week ahead. Also possible that they try and keep me sweet as they seem desperate to upgrade me to a 450 lol!!!
  6. In terms of noises, I have most of the obvious. Skeaky armrest in the back. Noisy parcel shelf which can be locked. Then upholder in the front centre also rattles a bit, but that can just be removed. My noise is a metal on metal noise coming from around the moon roof area for sure. Teamed with the water ingress between the roof and roof lining. Odd one!!
  7. OK, so my roof still rattles a little and I have something else new...... I took the car through a car wash (I know, but i was in a rush) and I had the moon roof cover open (moon roof was shut). I could visibly see water entering the car!!! There were lots of water droplets coming in from outside into the cavity in the roof. No idea where the water goes - it doesn't make it inside the car, just into the cavity. I found this odd to watch. Anyone else noticed this, or any ideas what going on????
  8. They were better - to be fair. Greeted nicely and courtesy car provided. Work done in a few hours and no problems collecting it. Full mirror unit was replaced and its as good as new!! Free of charge under extended warranty.
  9. Hi guys, thanks for the feedback and spelling out a few acronyms! I think I will give the guys at Teeside a go at the 70k service. Dan, it is well known that service of any kind is better the further South you go :) I have no doubt your Lexus dealer is spot on - lucky guy. Car is going in at 0830 tomorrow so I will write up how it goes!
  10. Hi all, Just thought I'd share my experience on claiming under my extended warranty with you. I called Lexus Manchester to tell them I had a lazy wing mirror motor. The After Sales Consultant informed me it wasn't broken and just needed adjusting (as the dip when you put it in reverse can be adjusted). I explained to him that I knew it couldn't be adjusted, I had tried it and the opposite mirror was fine. He said bring it in and he would have a look. I asked that if I brought it in on Thursday at 08:30 could it be diagnosed and fixed by Friday night - he said yes. I arrived early on Thursday morning and was greeted nicely by the staff. The ASC seemed in a bad mood - not a good start. He said he would go into the car park and it would be fixed in 10 mins. Around 20 mins later, he came in and apologised and said it needed to go down to a technician. At this point I had stupidly signed off the paperwork stating a £75 diagnostic fee - I will come back to that. So, I had explained that I needed to be in a meeting in central Altrincham at 10:00. The ASC said I would need to allow 60 mins travel time. So, by 09:30 I was becoming anxious. Finally at 09:40 the ASC said the technician had taken the wing mirror apart and greased everything etc and it couldn't be fixed. He was happy to put the claim forward to Lexus for it to be repaired under the extended warranty I bought through Lexus Manchester for £950, but there was the fee of £75 - for ensuring there hadn't been any damage caused by me and it was a fault of the part!!!! Long story short - I refused to pay. In the end the ASC said "Its not worth it" and handed my keys back. He then asked me if my car had been re-sprayed another colour!!!! He said he asked because its rare to find a white 400h. Yes it is, that s why I bought it. Cheeky blighter. I was very annoyed. I left the building and he said he would call me to let me know if Lexus were willing to repair it under the warranty and when I could bring it back. I was 30 mins late for a meeting - so annoyed. The ASC called later in the day and left me a voicemail requesting photographs of the wing mirror. I called back to ask why on earth they would need photos. The ASC explained that it was like an insurance policy and they wanted photographic evidence to prove it wasn't damage caused by me. Not good enough that the dealership could vouch for that, Lexus needed more evidence!! I sent the photos and all was fine. Full wing mirror to be replaced. I don't know if its necessary to replace the full wing mirror unit - I wonder if the dealership are pulling a fast one with head office? Finally, car booked in for this Thursday and a courtesy car to be provided. I asked the ASC when I could pick my car up and he said "The courtesy car will be booked for the duration of the day, the dealership will close at 17.30." Is it just me or does this not really answer my question properly. I'm a fan of good communication - this guy isn't. I received a follow up call from RRG and I explained to them the painful circumstances in which I wanted to have a repair carried out under warranty. I told them I was frustrated, given promises they couldn't keep, insulted and felt I had to bend over backwards to facilitate the repair. This isn't a Mickey Mouse warranty or like claiming on travel insurance. I pay a shed load of money for it and wanted an easy ride. Lexus Manchester were amazing when I was paying them £745 for a 60k service and £950 for a 2 year warranty. Not bothered about me when I want to use the warranty I pay for. Lets see if they redeem themselves this week. Anybody else got any good or bad feedback on Lexus Manchester? Tempted to take my car elsewhere in future. I live in York, so Leeds or Hull may be worth a go. Heard bad things about Hull. Not sure on Leeds. Any opinions?
  11. Gonna have to give this a try. As far as I was aware, my two units in the back worked independently to the one in the centre console.
  12. Thanks guys - will try these seat tactics this weekend :)
  13. Currently £128 on Amazon - usually £160. Any colour you like too! They also have isofix base built into this version. http://www.amazon.co.uk/RECARO-Monza-Nova-Seatfix-Shadow/dp/B00CKJ8QB4 Ste
  14. Hi, I have same DVD players in the back of mine with a 2.5 year old. They do have their own headphone jacks and what I have done, is bought car seats with built in speakers: http://en.recaro-cs.com/child-seats-details/monza-nova-2-seatfix.html So I just plug the provided lead into the seat and the other end into the monitor. Job done :) I am not aware of any way you could get the sound through the car speakers. You could try something like this or similar: http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Browse?storeId=10151&langId=110&catalogId=25051&mRR=true&c_1=1|category_root|Technology|33006169&c_2=2|33006169|iPod,%20MP3%20and%20headphones|33008472&c_3=3|cat_33008472|MP3%20accessories|33012947&r_001=9|Price|20%20%3C=%20%3C=%2030|2 On this one, you may need to extend the lead itself depending on where you plug in the power bit. But in theory, you could plug the jack into the monitor and then use one of these devices to stream the sound through an FM frequency. Ste.
  15. Hi guys, Had an annoying rattle in my roof for the past few months and need to figure out what is it. It sounds like metal on metal. Doesn't make the noise constantly, only with certain movement of the car. Not sure if its moon roof relating. Has anybody an ideas or experience of what it could be??? Also, on a separate issue, is it just a quirk or the car that the leather seats in the back constantly squeak when driving? Nobody in the back and they are noisy seats :) Ste
  16. This is good news :) my passenger side mirror does not drop as much as my drivers side mirror when selecting reverse. Used to be fine, but been like that for a few months now. Oddly, the manual adjustment works perfectly on both mirrors. Just when selecting reverse, the passenger one is lazy. So, should this be fixed/replaced under warranty? I have an extended Lexus warranty on my 400h.
  17. Has anyone any examples of square plates on an RX? Thinking of having some made up for my RX400h. I think it looks good on the American/jap examples I have seen. Unsure whether to go for square on back, or back and front.
  18. Hello everyone. Just got my first lexus at the weekend - 2008 RX 400h SE-L. Any tips for me as a fresh Lexus owner? I was chuffed to find power for a Wii, PS3 and Xbox under the front seats! I have already had fun putting the IR headphones back together. One of the muff bits had come off, so i took it off, screwed it back in place, then couldnt get it back together perfectly. Anyway, between me, the wife and a bottle of Rose last night, we both managed to fix one each :) fiddly fellers!
