  1. TonyB, thanks for the point raised about the light. I give it a try and see if that helps. Strange thing is it just happened out of the blue. I am seriously considering a Merc.
  2. I ahve owned the car for 4 yrs so couldn't have been abused by any one. Besides problems should have stated earlier that after 4 yrs. Battery in the Fob key has been changed twice and no joy. Thinking of selling and leaving the Lexus world. getting really fed up now.
  3. My car is just over 4 yrs with 36K on the clock. Wing mirror on the drivers side will not move in or out, will only move up or down, Xenon light on passenger side keeps turning off when it feels like it. The car is full of rattles and feels like it will fall apart. Keyless entry works whe it is in a good mood. What next? Anyone else go these problems?
  4. I am also not immune to the problem. Driver’s side mirror will not move up or down only inwards and outwards. Also, one of my Xenon bulbs is gone. Cost to replace is £189 + VAT! Rather disappointing for troubles to start just after 4 years for a Lexus.
  5. Hi, Does anyone know of a place where I can buy a bulb for my 2005 SE GS300? And also 4 sets of tyres (225 x 40 R18). I am not fussy with the tyre make but definately nor Pirrellis as they wear quick Thanks
  6. I also have problems with one electric mirror which will only go up and down and not in and out. Drivers side. Gutted with the GS and no more Lexus!
  7. There is a block of flats in the Dietikon area marked for visitors. I spoke to the building owners and they are ok for me to park there as it is obvious that my car registration is foreign.
  8. Does anyone know if the xenons on the GS has to be adjusted to comply with EU laws when driving in mainland Europe? Thanks.
  9. I made it to Switzerland at last. Travelling time was 11hours and got fined on the A$ in France for speeding. Typical. Thanks for all your info which really helped! Will always drive a GS. Very smooth on the motorway and averaging 30MPG
  10. Thanks for all your advice. parking sorted and the disk sorted. Now changing Euros and CHF and I am off this sunday
  11. many thanks for all the info which is very informative. My worry now is parking place in Zurich which could be hellish. Anyone knows a parking place for rental for say 1 month?
  12. So I guess it will be a toll roads then. How much roughly will it cost for the total trip on tolls? How long will it take on from from say Dover? I know the ferry takes about 90 min from dover to Calais
  13. Hello all, I am seriously thinking of driving from London to Zurich. What is the best route avoiding road tolls? Is it via France or Amsterdam? What is the approximate travel time if I leave on Sunday say 11 am? Regards
  14. Useless lights in the fog. I think the Xenons are nicer. Some Merc models use them to light the road as you turn
  15. Depends on your negotiating skills. I will hold the cards to my chest by not sounding too eager. In that case, the dealer will bend over for you. Good luck. I have a GS300 and it is such a sweet little beast. Boot space on the hybrid is small though........
  16. I was in London over the Easter break to find that all the buttons by the Sat screen were stuck. That is the Map/voice, Dest, Disp, Menu, Temp up and down buttons on the drivers side, Info. I managed to free most of them by using toothpick but the Info and Menu buttons responds very slow when pressed. The car has been parked for a while as I am mostly away and has under 31K on the clock. I appreciate the car turned three years in Sept gone but should the buttons be stuck after 3 years?

  18. Does the BMW, Audi, Merc and other cars suffer this alloy symptoms? i guess not so the problem is not restricted to the UK. Besides, I have a GS300 and the allows are still looking good
  19. As this is a known problem on the new IS and GS range, my only guess is that Lexus will be willing to rectify this. Do you have a work history of the vehicle? Do you know if there has been an attempted fix of the rattle? Discuss it with your local Lexus centre and if nothing sensible comes out, contact Lexus directly. I had the IS 200 years back which was known to have CD and corrosion problems. Lexus replaced the CD without any hussle after the warranty run out and the warranty on the CD player was also extended. Good luck Philip
  20. Many thanks for the info. Can't I buy the road tax online few weeks before I return to the UK and have it posted to me in the Schweiz? I currently work two days in Zurich and three days in London but will finally move for 3- 6 months in the Spring
  21. Gents and ladies, I may be moving over to Switzerland for 3 to 6 months and my road tax is due soon. Could I possibly declare a sorn when my road tax runs out as I will be in Swiss? What is the insurance implications of driving in Switzerland?
