  1. Hi all, I've got a NX300H - with the Premium Navigation. When a route is set, and your on the motorway - the screen appears to be split into two - giving information about Jcts / Service stations etc. Any idea how I can turn this off ?
  2. Oops... Wrong engine for the NX.. Should be the 2AR-FXE.. Apologies http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_AR_engine#2AR-FXE
  3. The IS300h is produces 220bhp and uses the Toyota 2AR-FSE engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_AR_engine#2AR-FSE The NX300h is products 194bhp and uses the Toyota 2AR-FTS engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_AR_engine#8AR-FTS
  4. So after 1 week of ownership I'm starting to explore the car in more and more detail. Yesterday driving to South Wales I was constantly getting a double "ping". Nothing on the dash, nothing on the center screen. How puzzling. It took the wife to notice that it was seemingly happening the same time as the speed cameras were present. And it is - didnt know the car had this feature (nice having come from a Merc and BMW where they won't fit Safety Camera alerts - some European Law or something ??) So what features did you not know the NX had ?
  5. After a 300 mile round trip yesterday, mainly on the M4, I've struggled to get the MPG to anything over 30mpg. I've tried setting the cruise, driving like my gran, even leaving it in Eco - makes no difference. The only thing I've found is that the estimate is shockingly poor. At one point I had 96 miles left on my journey home with 106 miles of fuel left. Driving at 60mph, within 10 miles there was less than 50 miles of fuel left. Another 5 minutes, and there was 20 miles left. Now my daily commute to work is less than 1 mile - so fuel consumption is not really an issue for me. But heck - if car can't either a) get more than 30mpg on the m-way, or b) give an accurate, and consistent reading for estimating fuel consumption/range - this is going to be a tough 3 years.
  6. The fuel consumption is going to be difficult for me to be a judge - my daily commute is about 900 yards lol, so fuel consumption for 90% of my trips is irrelevant. I've got a 300 mile round trip to do on Monday/Tuesday though - mostly all M4, so that will give me a good idea - but I guess the car is too tight yet for a realistic measurement. I had thought (expected) the EV mode to kick in a bit more often than it is - but that could just be me. Press that loud pedal a bit too hard and it tell you such - and going into petrol mode. No issues with Bluetooth. I've run Spotify through Bluetooth without any problems - seems to stay connected without a problem. Nice touch is that I can control Spotify on my phone with the controls in the car (volume, forward, back next track etc). I also like the TimeShift function on the radio (sort of Sky+ for the radio without the recording). Don't have an iPod - so can't comment on that. Panroof is nice - makes the car nice and airy feeling. LED lights - on par with the Xenons I had in my previous BMW 330d. Not sure I've not found it yet - or if the car doesnt come with it - but anyone know where the safety kit is ? triangle, spare bulbs etc ? Its a no-cost accessory from Lexus - but I thought all new cars had to have at least a triangle these days ? So far - bloody loving it !
  7. After what seems like an eternity of waiting, my 300H has finally arrived. Spec : F-Sport, in Celestial Black Pan roof Premium Nav Still getting to grips with the car. If there's anything I can help to answer in these early days of ownership - please dont hesitate to ask.
  8. Can I have it for the remaining 1%?Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC lol ... deal, if you fancy paying 1% of the price of the car ?
  9. Thankfully - no such problem. 90% of the time it will be just be in the car, 7% of the time my wife in the passenger seat (she thinks she's going to take it horse riding lol), and the other 2% with my one daughter in the back (who was looking forward to the electric reclining seats - until I told her they dont come in the UK spec cars). Roll on monday. Bye bye BMW 330D - hello milk float.
  10. Can't say I'd noticed this in the pics and videos that I'd seen to date. Now you've mentioned it I've looked online and found what your talking about. Silly design. I get mine on Monday. Now you've said - its going to bug the hell out of me lol Thanks lol
  11. My delivery was supposed to be 6th Nov, then it changed to 6th Dec, the 6th Jan 2015, then 14th and now 28th Nov. It'll arrive at some point. Maybe.
  12. There's always variants that have options that are only available on that variants... Lexus is no different to other marques. I ordered the F Sport as I wanted the grille.. But would've liked the memory seats and HUD. Shame.. But that's life.
  13. I thought I read that Lexus where developing a Smartphone app for the nx. Did I misread? Or this now out?
  14. Gutted .. mines delayed by about 4 weeks. Although they do think it will move forward again - but now I've got a date of 5th December. Do all the NX's get built in the Kanda factory in Japan ?
  15. I popped along to my local dealer to have a first look at the NX (even though I've already ordered one). And tried the Qi tray. I have a the new Sony Z3 which is not itself Qi capable without a Qi case. However, you'll see above that Lexus confirmed to me that the Qi tray was 150mm long by 90mm wide. The Z3 is 146x72. Easy fit. Right ? Noope - the Z3 does NOT fit in the Qi tray completely flat. And this is without the case remember. I don't doubt the width (it is about 90mm) but the length is more like 140mm, not 150mm. Very much doubt Lexus are going to release other trays for bigger phones. So this feature, might be as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
  16. So this forum is very quiet in terms of folk saying they're awaiting delivery. Given that Lexus have said there are some 800 pre orders for this car is figured we'd see a bit more traffic in here. So who's ordered and awaiting delivery.. And what's your date?
  17. The firm ride is the one thing that's concerning me. Like you quoted - I've ordered "blind". I'm a company car driver and needed to change my car this month - so I had to place the order 2/3 months ago - before the NX was available in the UK. I'm migrating (lets not call it upgrading, or downgrading) from a BMW 330D M Sport to the F-Sport version. I've tended to always have the sportier models of cars so used to the harder ride. But I've never read reviews that focus as much on the "hard ride" as this NX does. I've also ordered without the adaptive suspension - something I usually always tick on a car. Not sure if thats going to make it even worse. Finally - as a company car driver - whatever I think of the car when it turns up .. I'm stuck with it - for the lease of the car. November 6th (delivery day) is could be a very "love / hate" day.
  18. Spoke to Lexus - they confirmed the Qi tray in the NX is 150mm x 90mm So be careful what phone you get if you expect it to fit.
  19. Anyone have an details about the Qi charging ''tray' in the NX? I'm about to replace my phone and concerned that the tray maybe too small for something like the Sony Z3. Anyone know what the dimensions are for the Qi tray?
  20. Just to confuse matters .. The McLaren P1 ...... has a 727 BHP petrol engine and a 176bhp electrical engine. McLaren advertise this car as having 903BHP (http://media.mclarenautomotive.com/model/7/EN/doc/49/) Therefore, I'm saying my NX has 362 BHP (154hp + 141hp + 67hp). I'd be wrong - and it will be the worlds slowest 362BHP car - but its going by the same math as what McLaren use lol
  21. Interesting, so in effect, its an unfair comparison to compare a 200bhp hybrid with a 200bhp pure combustion engine. As the peak power delivery will be very different between the two engines. And in reality, the 200bhp hybrid will, more than likely, appear much quicker than its rival, purely because of the lower peak power point. Just looking for justification that my 300h thats coming in Nov is not going to be a like a milk float!
  22. Can someone more educated on this matter than I, explain to me how the total BHP of the 300H is worked out ? I stole this from another website 154 hp, 152 lb-ft with permanent-magnet AC synchronous electric motor, 141-hp front-drive motor (199 lb-ft, est), 67-hp rear-drive motor (AWD only), 194-hp combined power rating With 154hp, 141hp - and 67hp - how, combining any combination of these, does one get to 194hp ?
  23. I've ordered a celestial black NX F-Sport - from the videos, on the F-Sport variant anyway, its suits the black - a sort of menacing look. The white also looks stunning, and given that i've opted for the pan roof - I should've gone for that - but I've had a white car with a black pan roof before (Merc C Class) - now everyone has one ...... The silver also looks interestin - someone commented that he paint effect really stands out at night. So, to me .. really its either Black, White or Silver. Boring eh ? lol
  24. Got a delivery date of 6th November - which is about an 11 week wait.
  25. So not being able to test drive, or even get to see a NX I decided there was only one course of action. And that was to order one. Order placed. Celestial Black NX 300h F-Sport with Premium Nav, with Panoramic Roof. Roll on October.
