  1. Well if you are having a service soon then you may as well use the best items you can for your pride and joy. The Blitz/HKS/TRD/Apexi Panel filters will allow air to flow at a much higher rate than the stock paper filters from Toyota. The Blitz/TRD Oil Filters usually have a much bigger magnet than the stock Toyota ones which trap a lot more rubbish in them. Like i said mine needs a service soon. Its getting blitz oil and air filter as well as blitz sparks and im going for Castrol Edge/RS Fully Synthetic Oil. At least if you have good quality performance service parts you know your motor will be running at its best :winky:
  2. Does being over 25 really make any real difference? Im only 23 but over the last 3 years i've owned 2 mk4 supras, an LS400 Series3 and 2 Celica GT4's and all have been reasonable to insure - approx £500-900. Even now with my aristo and my esprit im paying just over £500... And i havent been clean as a whistle either what with a few claims and 3 points...
  3. Yep, first thing is i need to get wider tyres onto the car. I doubt the wheels on there will be wide enough for the tyre size i want so im expecting a new set of wheels will be needed too. Probably 9j for the front and 10-11j for the back. Blitz Panel Filter, Blitz Iridum Sparks and Blitz Oil Filter when i come to the service. Gonna ditch one of the cats (so i have at least one to get me through MOT's) and fit a Blitz/Apexi Boost Controller to push her up to around 1.1bar. Walbro Fuel Pump and bigger injectors. Also an Apexi SAFC to control fuelling. Should be easy 400-450bhp at the fly. The 2jzgte sequential turbo system means you have boost from as little as 1500rpm. Also because its still a 3ltr 24v 6 cylinder you still have plenty of torque even off boost.
  4. Could well be, found a picture on the net of the ones i have.
  5. Cheers peeps, thanks for the info on the interior but i specificly wanted one without leather as i preffer velour. And yes the Fluffy Dice was a joke but i for some reason seem to like it now Does anyone know what alloys i have? I thought they were the IS200 wheels but they are actually different. The tyres on them are 235 all round, so im going to need to do something about them as this car is coming with me to the Nurburgring in April and 235's on a car like this just wont work. Does anyone know how wide i can go on tyres without rolling the arches or rubbing? I'll hazard a guess that biggest/best i can fit onto the car is about 255 at the front and 285 at the rear? If anyone has any alloys or tyres for sale that would be near to this width could you drop me a pm :winky:
  6. I've never noticed before....i wonder why... BTW cheers guys :)
  7. Hey Javadude, im from Reading too :) I've seen that guy driving around before. Think his name is somthing ghey like Furry Foot or something :duh: Sounds well dodgy to me
  8. I've never had much luck with them unfortunately. Best quote they could do me on my Aristo V300 was £1600!? :duh: Im 23, 3 points, low crime area, 2 accidents in last year (1 fault) and i ended up going to Elephant for only £520 B)
  9. Hey peeps! Finally picked up my Aristo V300 on Saturday and it was everything i wanted it to be and more :D A few pics - Stock Subwoofer Momo Wheel Drove it back from Swansea on Saturday, only used about £30 in Petrol which means its more economical than my ST205 Anyway two quick questions if i may to those who will know. 1. Is the turbo system on the aristo sequential like the supra or parallel like a soarer? as i cant seem to tell 100% by driving it. 2. When i first get in and press the brake i get this small motorized sound that turns off and i can feel it through the pedal. I also get it again when i get to where im going and park up. Is this some kind of brake sensitivity adjusting thing? Cheers :)
  10. Hey folks Getting my Aristo V300 on Sat and will get to work straight away on it to get it ready for the Nurburgring trip im doing with TOC in April. (i understand LOC are doing a trip at the same time?) Im sure the standard brakes are gonna be no good for high speed braking so will need to invest in an upgrade. What would be the best way to go? UK Supra mk4 17" wheel 4 pot conversion? HiSpec kit? Do the aristos come with both front and rear strut bars as standard? cheers

    Aristo V300

Aristo's are few and far between in my opinion. You dont see many cheap ones around and most people dont know the aristo v300 has the same engine as the supra tt in it. Even those who are in the jap scene. I only discovered them about a year ago myself as a friend had a 2jzgte delivered from the front cut of an aristo.
  12. If an import is already over here and has been registered so has a number plate then you dont have to do anything other than tell your insurance company that the cars an import. This should make little or no difference to your premium. If you are importing a vehicle fresh, like for example a brand new Integra Type R then best thing to do is get a company to do it for you. Then onces its over here the company will probably do all the paperwork etc for you. I have imported myself and the process was very very easy. I got a 95 Supra and simply got it MOT'd (only needed to fit a fog light for the mot) and then i could register it for a numberplate. That was it! - was ready for the road. If a car is under 10years old then it needs an SVA or ESVA test to make sure its ok for these roads. Much easier than most people think :winky:

    Aristo V300

Hey dude, Im funnily enough getting my first Aristo V300 this Saturday. This to look out for are as follows - Knocking from the front suspension - Listen out when coming to a stop and also going full lock from left to right. Turbo wear - If turbos are worn out they will probably produce smoke when driving hard or make a loud whining sound. The engine should not sound any louder under boost than a mere whistle sound. Cold Smoke - Tends to happen on the older vehicles. The valve stem seals can wear out which means some smoke when first started - especially when cold. As long as this disappears after a few moments then nothing to worry about. Gearbox - Make sure the gearbox kicks down nicely when you floor it and that everything changes smoothly. Try going from drive to reserve a few times and it 'shouldnt' make any violent jumps. Take it out for a drive and hit the brakes hard. If it pulls to one side then its got possible steering/suspension damage. Also make sure it doesnt pull during driving anyway. Other than that, best of Luck. If you do get one you may want to join the sister site Toyota Owners Club. This is where i am from!
  14. According to http://www.toysport.com/ the SC300 (Or Soarer as its better known) came with the 2jzge engine between 1995-1999. The 2jzge head yes indeed can bolt up to the supra twin turbo block (2jzgte) but there is no point in doing this. The 2jzgte engine is perfect as it is and fitting a 2jzge head to it will prevent it from using the turbos it comes with. What exactly are your plans? Perhaps i can point you in the right direction...
  15. Sounds like you want something that goes like stink but still have a level or comfort and refinement similar to the IS200. I know they arent new cars but how about... Celica Gen 6 ST205? Leather is optional (255bhp Stock for Imports) UK Spec Supra TT? all come with leather! (326BHP vs imports 280bhp) Aristo v300? 280bhp and otherwise same as GS300 You'd have a lot of change left over from one of these!
  16. Does it move at all even after driving for a while? Do you get hot air coming out of the heater? It could be the thermostat has gone. My Celica GT4 (ST205) had what i thought was a dead temp gauge as it was constantly on the bottom. Took it for a blat down the motorway and with 5mins of 1bar boost it started to bob up and down a bit so i checked the thermostat and sure enough the pin had come out meaning it was constantly open. :)
  17. In theory yes, as your engine will be stronger at the top end but the LS400 is limited to 155mph so unless you remove that your not going to go any faster. Problem with decatting non turbos is you loose back pressure in most cases which means the car will loose low down response/torque. If you mean faster as in 0-60 then maybe. It all depends on how the 1uzfe handles less back pressure. You may find its faster but you may also find its sluggish compared to normal. Only way to find out is to give it a go really :) Although i wouldnt say its worth it myself :)
  18. Glad to hear your ok dude :) I miss my LS400, and im not surprised it did such little damage. They are pretty bomb proof, i miss that feeling of immortality i had when driving mine
  19. No no not the manifold. By downpipe i mean turbo to exhaust system to replace the cats. I come from a mk4 supra background so have a 2jzgte tuning history, we always reffer to the decats as downpipes as the stock system comes as two cats connected via some pipework directly onto the turbo. Most decats connect directly to the turbo manifold and run all the way to the midpipe on the exhaust system. I junked the cats on my UK Supra MK4 TT and it didnt make the car any louder unless you were at full chat. Pottering about town only the turbo whistle was any louder than normal. Thats all im going to do exhaust wise ^_^
  20. Not at all, i want a few extra ponies but wanna keep the car as close to stock noise levels as possible :) De-cat should only make the turbo wistle a little louder, otherwise the stock exhaust system is still in place to keep noise down. Also without the cats the stock system 'should' be good for 1.1bar.
  21. Hi I'll post loads of pics up when i get it on Saturday :winky: I dont want anything 'too' far away from standard. As i like the way the aristo/gs300 is stock and i dont want anything with a loud exhaust etc if you get what i mean. Im going to ditch the cats on this one and put a downpipe in, boost controller and safc. That should give me enough juice without making the car too loud. :)
  22. Thanks guys, seen his one but its not what im looking for. Im after a bog standard (or lightly modded) MK1 V300. Not bothered about equipment, would preffer NO leather as im a Velour man. B)
  23. Hi guys! Cant seem to see a 'Wanted' section like what we have over on TOC so i was wondering where would it be best to post up that im looking for an Aristo TT? Im sure LOC is the place that i should be looking. Cheers Leeky
  24. Found another two since for £2.5k each! :duh:
