  1. We went for a meal last night and there were some chavs causing trouble outside the restaurant. The staff moved them on and then half way through our meal we were told that there were police in the car park and that a number of cars had been broken into. Was mine, a merc and another car. Was gutted....passenger door completely bent like a banana, the face of my stereo was gone, my steering column broken where they had tried to nick my momo, and some other things like my tool kit and fire extinguisher was gone too. Was fuming last night, but got up bright and early this morning and managed to straighten the door out so it closes properly now. Emailed the guy i got the stereo off to see if he can get me a new face for it. Just finished removing the steering column and will be looking for a replacement on monday. And all this 1 week and 5 days before im set to go off to the nurburgring.. Oh well....could have been worse :) If anyone had a steering column bit that connects to the wheel for sale then please give me a PM, also i think im going to change both front doors so if anyone know of a green gs300/aristo being broken let me know ;)
  2. You saying that fitting the smaller pipe improved the setup?
  3. Im getting the mk4 supra blitz 2nd decat pipe fitted as i hear its the best for the job. Im going to leave the first cat in as i want to get it through future MOT's without any hassle of putting a cat back in. Also im looking to run no more than 1.1bar at the absolute maximum and 'should' be able to do this with a single cat still in and still with the stock exhaust system also. Also seeing as if you do decat the the whole system you need a restrictor plate i thought it probably wont flow much more than leaving one cat in anyway.

Cool, the Castrol Edge stuff is 0w-40w.......i've got 3 weeks between now and the Nurburgring Trip anyway so i'll get round to changing it for some 5w-50w before i go.

Anyone ever tried Castrol Edge? I put that into my aristo and i dont think it likes it :duh: Noisier that before...
  6. Almost finished now! Have got the 4 door speakers and the 2 tweeters wired up. All thats left to do it connect the dash centre speaker and the subwoofer up - will do this once i get hold of an amp. Will try to get some pics of the install sometime this week :winky: Already been out in the car playing Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark Sounds superb seeings as you have 6 speakers in such a close range from different angles. Should be even better once the other are wired up with a load of bass :D Will finish the wiring writeup and post pictures verysoon :)
  7. Hey guys, thought id post this up for future refference as there just isnt any info on the wiring of the stereo of the aristo anywhere on the net. I've finally got my DVD headunit and TFT screen into the dash and after blowing endless fuses and removing lots of trim i sat down and did a little diagram of the needed wiring for you all :) So here it goes! First up it may be a good idea to disconnect the battery to avoid blowing fuses like i did. So now lets remove the standard Toyota Stereo. To do this you push the top of the air vents in where the clock is and you can grip onto the bit of plastic to pull it out. You will need to disconnect the two cables. Also open the ash tray and give that a pull and that will come out also. Disconnect the cable going to the lighter socket. Using a 10mm socket you need to remove the top two bolts and the 3 underneath the unit. The stereo will come forward and you can disconnect the cables from the rear of the heater panel and the the ones from the rear of the stereo. Now, you cannot use the standard Toyota Amplifier with an aftermarket stereo. So open the boot and pull up the floor to the right so reveal the amp. Pull out all the cables and using the 10mm socket you need to undo the bolts holding it in. Now thats out and the headunit is out we can forget about those. Ok, there are three cables which came out of the back of the stereo. 2 white ones and one blue one. Forget the white ones, they are no good to us now. The wires in the blue connector are as follows (connector side not wires side) Connect up the black ground cable of your new stereo to the brown ground cable. And connect the red 12v constant cable from the new stereo to the red/white cable. Now i tried and tried but could not find a 12v ACC anywhere in the wiring so what i did was ran a cable from the ACC wire off the stereo through the dash to the ignition barrel and touched wires and turned the key on and off until i found the correct connection and then wired it in. Now all you need to do is connect your speakers up. I am yet to do this and will be doing this in the morning :winky: But should just be a case of running the wires for the 4 speaker along the car and i will wire them into the cables that used to go into the amp B) You will need to get a new Amp to run the subwoofer.
  8. Im still hoping Sega will return to the Console Market I still rate the Saturn as one of the best consoles ever B)
  9. Once i've done the job i'll post up a complete wiring diagram and step by step guide on removing the standard system and installing an aftermarket jobby :winky: But just to convey accross how tought this job is......i've since blown 3 further fuses! :duh: :winky:
  10. I found out today that the 2nd cat is identical to the jdm supra. So you can use the whifbits or blitz 2nd decat pipe from the supra. The first cat is completely different and requires a custom pipe made up :)
  11. Can anyone help? On top of trying to fix an electrical issue and wiring in a headunit and dvd screen it looks like the toyota amplifier wont work with the new stereo so im going to have to rip it out and get an aftermarket amp. Can anyone tell me how many speakers there are in the car and where they all are? So far i count 8 speaker centre of dash above clock Tweeter on left front door Tweeter on right front door speaker on left front door speaker on right front door speaker on left rear door speaker on right rear door subwoofer on rear shelf that all? cheers guys

  13. As the title says, does anyone know? I hear that if you fit an aftermarket stereo you need to ditch the toyota amp and re-wire all the speakers :duh:
  14. I know of the box under the bonnet and the ones under the cover in the drivers footwell. Anyone know where there are any others?
  15. OK....all fuses in the engine bay box and the footwell seem ok....but also noticed the button to open the boot doesnt work either now :duh: Any ideas guys?
  16. have a look at the fuse box in drivers foot well mate, should be in there if its not in the engine bay fuse box. Cheers dude, will go have a snoop now :winky:
  17. Anyone know where i can get this info? Was trying to fit my DVD/Stereo system tonight and got a spark off one of the connectors Yes i know i should have disconnected the battery....but anyway...sh*t happens as they say. Also now the central locking doesnt work and the stock stereo doesnt light up (text is displayed but no back light). Im guessing a fuse has gone somewhere. By any chance does anyone possibly know where it is? Looked under the bonnet but all seems ok and doubt its one of those anyway. Cheers peeps

  19. Great stuff, thanks for the info Colin :) I'll get the first removed then. :winky:
  20. I dont think it really matters which cat you remove, as the restriction should be the same on both. Does anyone know what kinda horse power can run through the standard exhaust? i want to improve the flowing but would like to keep the standard exhaust as its smooth and quiet.
  21. As far as i know you cannot interchange supra and aristo exhausts/downpipes. Boths cats are the same and you can pass emissions with just one in (doesnt matter which). Im having my second cat removed next weekend at Darkside Performance and having a bit of pipe custom made to replace it :) With only the first cat in i will be able to pass MOT's ok and run much higher boost very nicely :D
