  1. Hi Guys Im off to buy this Aristo at the weekend. Registration M65XRO Its a Pearl White (Lower part Silver) V300, has 78k miles on the clock. Two previous owners (one was the dealer for registration), MOT until OCT 06, Beige Leather Interior, Some History, recient service, had Cambelt changed 20k kms ago. Boot spoiler. Aftermarket wheels (which i plan on dumping), everything seems to be working except for the electric passenger seat. Also the ABS light has come on, so may be a sensor somewhere that needs changing or a pad that needs changing. Turbos according to him are in great condition, no whining or smoke. Has lots of receipts and all MOT's from since its was imported. The dude has it up for £3.5 What do you guys think?
  2. Yes, i know the V300 is the 2JZGTE powered version and that the S300 is the 2JZGE version. Yes the GS300 is a non turbo but no it isnt an Aristo.
  3. Its good to be back over on the Lexus side B)
  4. Cool, Sky just quoted me £850 full comp :D
  5. Cool, thanks for the reply. Yeah £3k is about what im looking to spend. I too have come from a mk4 supra background (amongst other things) so its the 2jzgte that really appeals to me.
  6. Hi guys Lee here, Mod from over on the sister site TOC. How is everyone? Been a while since i was last active over here, was when i had my Series 3 LS400! :) Anyways i've decided to go for a mk1 Aristo V300 and wanted to ask the people who know about these a few questions. Firstly how and where do you insure yours? I've done a few quotes for a Toyota Aristo V300 - 94 with a value of approx £3k and most places want £1900!? But i have also done a quote on a Lexus GS300 Import and this came back as only £700 which is fine. Whats the differences spec wise between the Aristo and the GS300? I get the impression that leather only comes on the Vertex models, otherwise the standard v300 has velour. Do you still get the fantastic lexus sound system with the sub? Can i tune the car up using jdm supra mk4 parts or are there differences to downpipes etc? Anything that i should look out for when buying? apart from the usual things to look out for when looking at supras (i mean seeing as they have the same engine) Thanks guys Lee
  7. Just to let you LOC peeps know, there is a TOC meet happening in Henley on Thames this wednesday. Should be a good turn out, everyone and anyone is welcome. People also coming from the SXOC, Supra Owners Club, Celica Owners Club and IMOC. Tescos car park - Henley on Thames - 7:30 onwards - this Wednesday the 22nd of Sept B) :winky: email me at projectleeky@hotmail.com for more information
  8. You may have a point there. I could have sworn that when i put the heated seats on the first time they did take the chill off the leather. But i always thought heated seats went really warm. Oh well
  9. :D Hi guys! Sorry i didnt reply soon, been too busy out driving it Its a 1996 N, Metallic blue and Mint with a FLSH. Dealer was deperate to shift it so i played a hard bargain and got him to literally give me it for free at only £4800! :D Very happy to say the least. Yeah this weekend i'll snoop about for fuses and the like cuz im sure its something like that. I only got the photo from the Autotrader advert at the mo and it looks almost black in that so i'll take a nice pic at the weekend for you all. BTW My local lexus dealer is Reading are amazing. Not only have they given me - Free Keyring, Free Manual, Free Mat Clips and Free Number Plates! They are the nicest most helpful people i have ever met. They cant do enough for you! I heard the lexus service was good but its amazing! And i havent even had a service done on the car there yet or anything! Im going to write a letter to them thanking them for everything they have done for me. I think im gonna be driving Lexus for the rest of my life now B)
  10. Hi guys Finally got my LS400. Love the thing to bits and i cant believe how little fuel it uses! One thing i need to know though is why the heated seats dont heat? Seems like a very common problem on these cars as so far i havent seen a ls400 where they actually work yet. Is it a fuse or am i doing something stupid like do i need to put the heater on full before they will work? Cheers guys :D
  11. Look on ebay as there is a dude selling a complete cream leather interior on there from a 98 ls400 and its started at only £100! :winky:
  12. Ok so i went to check out some LS400's today. Thanks to steve by the way for offering to check it over with me but i only read the PM just before i went so i didnt want to let you know at the last moment. Anyway i did go and see the gold LS400 Series 2 in Bournemouth and it was a bit horrid. Rust poking through in a few places, especially at the top of each front wheel arch. The owners and service history was not what i was told on the phone and generally looked a bit tatty. On the way back i checked out another LS, this time a 95M Series 3. I have to say the series 3 has sooooo much more improvements over the series 2. I didnt notice the diffrence in the length (i hear the series 3 was designed to offer more legroom and a larger boot than the series 2), but the revised front look more modern and the interior certainly looked the business. So im going to start Series 3 hunting. My budget is £5000, mileage isnt an issue as i am used to high milers. But im pretty sure for this kinda money a good series 3 wont be too hard to find.
  13. My thoughts exactly. After living a crampt life in the Celica i want enough room to hear an echo TFT screens in the head rests are just too tempting, also a gamecube! :D (dribble...) After all i have heard about the reliability of the LS i'll risk possible however unlikely repair bills and get a huge blinging comfort-machine. :winky:
  14. Hello peeps! Sold the GT4 so now im moving to the sunny land of Lexus. I was going to get an IS200 but even the cheapest one's are more than i want to spend on my next car. So i've been looking at the LS400, i think for the money you get one HELL of a lot of car Anyway this Saturday im going to look at a potential car. 1994 L Reg Series II. 150k on the clock with a full Lexus service history. 3 Owners. Just had cambelt done. Gold with beige interior. The dealer is asking £3995 for it but im gonna push for £3500 ;) What do you think? From the pictures it looks mint. good price? Is there anything i should be looking for apart from the usual accident damage/rust/abuse/noise/smoke? I hear that the 1uz-fe is a rock solid engine and at 150k the engine will go on for years. I've also heard of jap's with over 500k on the clock! Also they sound quite economical for a 4ltr averaging 28mpg. Any advice or tips would be great :winky:
  15. Anyway went to the trade centre. About 30 IS's there. Also went to the local Lexus Main Dealer, apprxo £20k for a new one is a very good deal. Especially when their used one's are roughly £15k. Anyway i'll have to wait and see. B)
  16. Cheers guys, im going to the Great Trade Centre in London today to look at a few IS's. Tell you how i get on when i get back. ;)
  17. Thanks dobedo, im sure im going to like it over here on the LOC. :D Looking forward to finding out about this.
  18. Hi there Leeky here, im a regular from over on the Toyota Owners Club. Sorry about the two previous posts i was having a strange mail error message Dunno if any of you pop in now and then and have heard but i and selling up my GT4 and going for the IS200/Altezza. Now im split between the two, the IS200 obviously being cheaper ins, has the badge and has the spec but im not happy really with 153bhp. Driving the GT4 im used to running 300bhp and am worried i will find it very gutless in comparison to what im used to. So i've been looking also at the Altezza RS200 @ 220bhp which seems a little more like it. The only problem is have only found 1 ins company that will have it and they want £1600! When the IS200 Sport will cost me £700. Nuff said. My question is i see many Altezza's with lexus badages being sold as Lexus's. So if i buy an Altezza am i able to insure it as an IS200 import? Because this will make the insurance only £100 more than the UK IS200 and i would get the power i want also. Thanks guys, much appreciated
