  1. Have not looked at the link but it is interesting what is being said about a high mileage GS. I have two GS450h, one only 30k (59), the other 140k (06), - both are different specs, oldun has satnav, but both are brill to drive. the older has some blemishes as age usually adds but holds a nice shine and good interior, the younger is lovely inside with unexpected weather related blemishes on the body. The older car I would value at £4.5k, the younger at £8.5k. both have full lexus service history and I have all docs to prove history which i believe is valuable also. Why I give this info is for comparison to the above - enjoy. ==== Have just looked at car - too much money for mileage
  2. IS220d - 07 plate. More knowledge gained - Actually Loss was of Remote Locking, Horn, Indicators, Wipers, Washers, Main Headlights, Fr Fog, Rr Fog. Investigated for a common fuse but struggled with finding info online, did discover some owners complained of tarnished fuses and connectors causing problems which spurred my initial investigative thoughts. Started removing appropriate fuses related to the symptoms, found throughout all fuse box areas and within 30mins discovered that remote locking had returned, then investigated some plugs in footwell and found an extra fuse (black but linked to red going to a plug by accelerator). Unfortunately frustration and constantly getting up and down backwards to see fuse box in drivers and passenger well became annoying so did not do 1 thing then check what result if any had improved so after some refitting of different available connectors and fuses - the symptoms disappeared. Suspect internal fuse box area drivers side and nearby (positioned vertical near accelerator/door hinge) connectors as there is additional wiring tapped into the loom (i suspect for towbar). Drove around and all was well - until yesterday (car had been parked for 4 days) - Remote still works, but back to no indicators, horn, wipers etc. grrr. Discovered majority of fuses related were in the additional fuse box (Identifed as B) in the engine compartment main fuse container - checked all fuses, was able to swap the B box with another car - but no joy. Have even disconnected and reconnected some major connectors near the fuse boxes in a quick hope to solve - but nothing gained. All looks as loom from control stalk has an issue - have tried to find loom info but am struggling to identify correct diagram - seems not much abut wiring looms on the net. Did discover a download it seems for the service manual but all I could achieve was to download an application for PDF conversions - will return to see if I have missed a link. Overall - frustrated. Can anyone point me to a wiring loom circuit diagram that may offer some assistance in this. I am electronics engineer so able to interpret and use multimeters etc.
  3. Did you also notice the loss of indicators? I have a similar problem when I changed the vehicle battery I have lost remote locking, indicators (although 4way works) and no alarm. Am searching for a blown fuse.
  4. Diagnostics interpreted and interesting reading it was too. Clearing the codes by disconnecting the battery did not work (Hybrid Battery may still be supplying system). ABS codes cleared and the lack of brake pressure to wheels removed. Poor pressure at the front nearside (LHS), with nil pressure at rear off side (RHS) was the problem after replacing the stubaxle and connecting the ABS sensor. Additional faults were found related to brake system and all cleared with the resetting of the ABS sensor. Have driven the vehicle since this occurrence and no repeat issues. Very elated indeed.
  5. Have just read responses to my other query about the use of OBD reader and find it is apparently illegal. For me this seems a little extreme as the use of OBD readers by mechanics is permitted, so why not the owner? I see this could bring about much debate and possibly has done, for the interest of my immediate need the decoding of the codes is imperative and I shall find a solution to it. Being an engineer my inquisitiveness will not be easily thwarted.
  6. Vehicle was parked and struck by a vehicle hitting the side of the front wing/bumper and so pushing vehicle into the kerb, 18" wheel on a small axle diameter along with force of impact caused the axle to sheer. On removing the disc and caliper to replace axle foolishly depressed brake pedal without inserting a block between brake pads so I guess may have also created other system failures. The struggle I have is that the vehicle ran out of MOT Mid-Dec, so to drive it and also pass need to have ABS sorted. In addition I am uncertain if other issues have been caused as a number of warnings and lights are showing when started. Overall a number of problems to solve, with diagnosis of the system required to aid the understanding of what is happening.
  7. Hi everyone, I have just purchased a 450h, have also a problem with ABS so got the Techstream. Cannot get past registration request. One assumes this is because it is the "Fuller" version. Checked cable and IC is the real McCoy - phew! Any advice anyone.
  8. Hello Abdul, I got the Techstream on Wednesday, version 8.03, cannot get the software to accept the registration key. On installation instructions it says to remove/rename the Main Menu. I find that the application does not work if this is done. Did you have knowledge of this difficulty, or advice on how to overcome this problem.
  9. Hi - Interested if the wheel alignment cured the problem. I would be amazed if it did.
  10. GS450h - 2009 model. Built Feb 08. Have had to change Stub Axle complete - part came with no GS450h listed on box label, it fits correctly in suspension arm and plug connector is good. Would it be different to other variants as ABS lights do not go out? Any advice about if disconnecting battery to clear codes is possible? Many Thanks
  11. Hi all, Just bought a lexus with a repair needed. Had to replace front stub axle LHS. Curious if this tip of clearing codes would work with the 3rd generation GS450h vehicles?
