  1. Those footwell lights are very nice and I also noticed the lights above the cup holders but didn't realise they change colour when in sport mode.
  2. I think I am getting used to them, I'm still using a cushion on long journeys but shorter ones aren't too bad. The missus has adjusted the drivers seat to her liking and I've been told I can only move it back and forwards now! Maybe we should've got one with memory seats! Agreed about the Advance sat nav, it put me right off and looks like it's been stuck on as an afterthought! Also to add, we had 5 people in the car last month and 3 in the back is a right squeeze but we were dropping someone off down the road so it wasn't for long. We had to go down a steep slope and something underneath scraped on the ground, it looks like it was a brace bar, which is the lowest thing under the car. It did it again with just 2 people in the rear so we'll have to be careful of that!
  3. I've noticed the pre and post 2010 Prius have different tyre sizes on the space savers so maybe that's why. Or assuming you bought it from ebay it wasn't originally from a Prius and was for an Avensis or Celica. Maybe the calipers on the CT and Prius are larger, which is why it was catching.
  4. Yes no other Lexus wheels will fit the CT, it has a PCD of 5x100, the others are 5x114.3, which is very annoying. The Prius and Avensis both have the same offset as the CT, although some seem to be 39 rather than 45 but that difference is so minimal it shouldn't matter. What is the tyre size for the CT on 16" wheels, is it 205/55/16? A few I've seen on ebay are below but I'm not sure what would suit the car. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Avensis-2003-2008-16-4x-Alloy-Wheels-Tyres-205-55-R16-ref-I31/262696354829 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Avensis-2003-2008-16-4x-Alloy-Wheels-Tyres-205-55-R16-ref-H27-/252593415398 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-PRIUS-ALLOY-WHEELS-16-WITH-TYRE-SET-OF-4-CAME-FROM-2008-MODEL-FREE-P-P-/291933152463 Or the other option is to buy some new cheap alloy wheels. Otherwise it means buying the CT 17" wheels and another £100+ on top extra for the tyres compared to the 16s.
  5. I want to get some winter tyres and would prefer to fit them to 16s and not 17s, the tyres are pretty expensive in a 215/45/17. The CT 16s seem to be a rare find so I'm looking at Avensis ones. So if you've fitted these or any other Toyota wheels can you post a photo up so I can see how they look. Thanks
  6. Strange about the space saver, are all the Prius ones 16" or maybe it's only the pre 2009 ones that fit? I have been looking for one from a Prius but might try and find a 17" Lexus space saver now.
  7. Thanks for the update, I noticed Costco now let you book tyres online so you can see prices etc. If the CT hadn't of come with new tyres I probably would've got these. It's a shame the 17s use a 215/45 profile, tyres in this size are pretty expensive, especially compared to the 16s.
  8. Do the discs last just as long as the pads? The first CT we looked at had 63k miles and the front discs had a large lip on them but I couldn't really see the pads so I wasn't sure how much meat they had left. I guess the wheel has to come off to see them properly. The car we bought had 59k miles but the lip on the disc was no where near as pronounced as the other car, so I can only assume they were heavy on the brakes.
  9. I haven't seen that colour in the flesh but it definitely wasn't for us - it would be a boring world if we were all the same though :) We've only had out CT for a couple of weeks, it's definitely one of the better cars we've had.
  10. Well we're really enjoying the car and it's definitely a different way of driving having a hybrid but we seem to be adapting well. I am still noticing little features such as the LED light above the cup holders and at the weekend I found the different displays on the speedo for mpg, battery, range etc. I had thought the disp button was to do with the handsfree as it's above those buttons but after pressing it I realised it wasn't! I then found the settings for the door locks etc, so I need to go through those too. I do have one complaint though and that is I'm not finding the seats very comfortable and they are making my back ache. It's kind of ironic seeing that it's the missus with the bad back but she said they're fine for her! I've never had this with any other car in 19 years of driving but a 10 minute journey makes my middle to lower back ache. We went on a road trip over the weekend and I was sitting in the car for 4 hours, both as a passenger and driver. I took a half moon shaped cushion with me to put behind my back and it didn't ache at all so I need to get a proper lumbar cushion. I admit I am a sloucher both on the sofa at home and my office chair at work so it could be the seats are making me sit in a more natural position, which is causing the ache. On the positive side I manually worked out the mpg after our road trip, which was mainly motorway and A roads and it did 49.3mpg, the computer was reading 51-52, so it's not that far out. The road trip was to collect a genuine Lexus boot tray and rubber mats, both barely used and in excellent condition, I paid £35!
  11. As said below there is not enough room for a full size wheel but I think that's the case with most new cars now :( That storage tray is actually larger than I was expecting and it would be a shame to lose it but I would prefer to have a spare. I've been driving for 19 years and have only needed a spare a handful of times but it's nice to know it's there. I needed to use the one in the Accord the other month when I got 2 new tyres fitted, drove home and picked a nail up in one! Cool, good to know it fits, so does the storage try fit with the 125/70/16?
  12. I downloaded the manual, thanks Colin. The dealer is going to send me one so I can at least keep it in the car, which is better than printing 700 pages off!
  13. Thanks for the link, that's very helpful. We got the car yesterday so I'm keen to get a space saver asap now. I'm sure I had read somewhere that the 2010+ Prius one won't fit though but the link suggests that it will. Or is it the tyre that's the issue, they seem to be 135/80/16 compared to 125/70/16 for the early Prius. The Lexus one is 125/70/17 so the fatter tyre must make it more difficult to fit in the well? After removing the storage tray it looks like I'll have to remove the tray with the tools too unless I get the proper fitting kit from Lexus? I'm ok with doing that though, I can wrap the jack up in a towel and wedge it in somewhere. There don't seem to be many alloys for sale on ebay but it looks like they range from £100-£150 for a set so that's not too bad.
  14. It arrived yesterday and we're very pleased with it We've only driven it around town so far but it's definitely going to take a while to get used to the CVT and whole hybrid driving experience. Plus all the gadgets the cars has! There was no handbook in the car though so I'm chasing the dealer about it.
  15. So the CT should be here on Thursday and I want to get a space saver for it. I have read the threads on the forum about it but just want to check what size I should be getting. The Lexus size seems to be 125/70/17 and I've seen this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Space-Saver-Spare-Wheel-for-Lexus-CT200h-2011-2016-fitted-with-BFGoodrich-Tyre-/222240944243 If I get one from a Prius they seem to be 125/70/16 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Prius-Space-Saver-Spare-Wheel-5-Stud-16-Inch-TJ16x4T-Spare-Wheel-2006-/321588814557 If I got this would they be similar in size, I would've thought I'd need an 80 profile on a 16" wheel? Does the CT come with a scissor jack, I didn't look under the tray so I'm not sure what is there? I have been using winter wheels for a few years now and as the car is for the missus I want to get some for the CT. We live on top of a steep hill and around town where she drives is hilly as well. From an insurance point of view I'd rather just get another set of Lexus 17" rims to put the tyres on otherwise I'll have to tell them. I've not seen many on ebay though and the ones I have are miles away. It seems the CT uses a different PCD to other Lexus models so other than looking at Prius wheels what else would fit the CT, is there a website that lists what wheels are compatible with other makes?
  16. Just an update... We went to look at the car last Thursday and it was Michael's day off so Rod dealt with us on the day, he's a great guy, very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The showroom looked similar to the Edgware one and was very nice, but I wasn't too keen on the posh coffee! The car looked great and we both enjoyed test driving it, the ride is fine IMO, we both took turns to sit in the back and I can't see what all the fuss it about. I was sitting in the rear of a 2010 Fiesta the other day and that felt rock solid compared to the CT. Unfortunately we noticed some clearcoat peeling slightly under the seal of the small window to the side of the boot. Rod wasn't happy for us to take the car with it like this so they are sorting it out and delivering it at their cost on Thursday. We can't wait...
  17. My brother works for Inchcape and I was looking at their 3 Lexus dealerships for a used SE-L as he could get me a discount but their prices for the spec were more expensive than other dealers. I have bought one from the Stoke dealership instead and they have one more left, which has just been reduced - http://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/dealers/Stoke-on-Trent/Lexus-Stoke/2926890-605896412-1607044.aspx?srcmdc=se_de_re_ Unless you are looking for black paint and cloth interior I think that's a brilliant price, they were very helpful and I got a good deal on mine.
  18. I'm sure once we have had the car for a while and experienced the Lexus brand we won't want to go back to anything else! Are you still looking to buy one Steve?
  19. Thanks, it's a shame Costco isn't that much cheaper. I could buy dedicated mid range summer and winter tyres for not much more money. I've been using winter tyres for a few years now and the last few have been fairly mild but I have read a hybrid can be a little more tricky to drive in snow and ice? I am a big fan of Uniroyal tyres, which are around £70 each and would use those in the summer months on the 17s. Then get smaller wheels (16s) and some winter tyres for similar money. I'll be interested to see how you get on with them over winter and what the wear rate is like.
  20. I've only been in one other Lexus showroom and that was Edgware in NW London, it was quite posh there, I did feel a little out of place! So far I would agree with your opinion of them, I've been dealing with Michael via email, apart from a phone call to pay the deposit and he's been bending over backwards to help and make sure I'm happy. Considering a couple of dealers (not Lexus) I've emailed didn't even reply I am actually in shock. This is the first time I've bought from a dealer before so I've been pleasantly surprised
  21. Well after a lot of emailing to a Lexus dealer I have put down a deposit (subject to viewing) on a 2011 SE-L in Ultra Blue with black leather. They made me a video and sent lots of photos. I think I've got a good deal and will be making the 2.5 hour trip to Stoke on Thursday. I'll be checking it over thoroughly and test driving it before coming home. I'm looking forward to it :)
  22. I had a test drive yesterday in an Advance and I thought the ride was ok. It was slightly firmer than my Accord Tourer on 225/45/17 tyres but certainly not as bad as I was expecting. Based on that we won't be getting the F Sport. It was my first time in a hybrid and I thought it was ok. The only thing I noticed was I could feel the driveshafts or CVT rotating under my left foot, is this normal? We didn't like the Advance trim or seat material, so going for an SE-L. The Premier would be nice but over budget for me. Living inside the M25 means there aren't many cars within my budget and I've found one about 2.5-3 hours away but can't really get there to view it. It's from a Lexus dealer and they've been very helpful with replying to my questions and it has full service history. I'm thinking of buying it and getting it delivered, they will do it for free. It'll have 12 months warranty so I think I should be ok. I'd inspect the car before accepting the delivery.
  23. This wasn't a main dealer but even so it's the first time I've been asked to pay a deposit for a test drive. He said I can only do that if I actually want to buy it! Is the ride really that different to the SE-L? I thought if we test drive an F Sport and like it then the SE-L would be fine.
  24. Sorry for the late reply! We stopped looking for a while but have started again and hoping to get a car within a few weeks subject to a proper test drive on the road. We had a look at an SE-L last week and spent a long time going around it. Unfortunately the trader wouldn't let us test drive it on the road without a deposit but we tried it around the yard and it was very nice. We really need a road test to see what the suspension and comfort is like cos the missus suffers with sciatic. I have seen a good deal on an F Sport so I'm hoping to test drive that model as I believe the suspension is a little firmer? Looking around I can get a newer car for the money with less miles than 9 months a go. I was looking at an SE-L but have seen some Advance ones too, are these essentially the same trim level with the same features?
