    Better keep them away from 30oC. He's talking bollocks about the gear change though , if it won't give you the gear you want it's for a reason. Funny review though.

    Thanks man. That iron X stuff absolutely stinks. Yeah I'll need to get some of the approved car wash and the detailer is giving me an after wash spray to protect the coating.

    Here's a few pics of the job so far. Bumpers and door handle still to do, interior clean then apply the coating. There's one thing for sure it's going to be super shiny. Its not coming out the garage ever again

    No more than 350 I've been told and that included the interior getting a going over and glass clean. With the amount of work I think it's a fair price. A mate of mine just bought a new 911 S thing and paid 700 to have it ceramic coated.

    I know mate, I thought I was doing ok with my bits and pieces but I've had my eyes opened. I can't wait to see it. So far the passenger sides been polished but alot more to get round.

    Passenger door corrected and is like a mirror, looks like the ceramic won't go on till tomorrow. Just had to drill and tap my rear number plate bolt holes. Stupid plastic bolts were seized.

    So much for thinking the paint was looking ok. The pics don't really show how bad it actually looks with the light on.

    Still prepping the paint work. Clay bar removed most of the tar etc but the car was covered with this stuff to identify dirt specs by turning purple then snow foamed again. Amazing the amount of hidden crap that even the clay bar misses.

    I've been told it needs 24 hrs to cure but it'll be in the garage. From then on ill need to wash it with a special water additive to maintain the life of the coating.

    I've finally given up polishing the F and bringing in a local professional today / tomorrow to machine polish and apply a Cquarzt ceramic coating. Can't wait to see the results so beware all you silver lovers there might be a some very blue pics coming The guy inspected the car a few weeks back and every panel had a more than 200microns of paint depth some areas were 250 so it would seem Lexus did a good job on these cars at the factory. Wife's CT is around 150 as a comparison.

    Cool, I'll stop thinking about that noise then. Not sure what causes the whine but it seems common on the is250's as well. Transmission oil pump maybe. Mine is really noticeable when opening up 1st and 2nd.

    Do any of you get the supercharger whine noise as well?

    I can hear mine if the windows open. I also get some sort of rustling pulley noise above 3k so im thinking the tensioner is maybe playing up or a pulley is getting abit dry. Its not loud but i tend to tune into noises when im driving good and bad lol.

    Cheers Big Rat. I'll give my local parts supplier shout and see what they have. Lexus Edinburgh is too far just for a belt. It'll give me a chance to spin the idler pulleys as well.

    I'll see about getting a new belt. Apparently in manual mode the gear shifts are so quick the auxiliary belt can't keep up and can let out a quick screech.

    Hi all, Has anyone had their belt tensioner replaced and if so what sort of noises were coming from it? I read on the American forums that it's a common fault and I'm sure mine is making some sort of rustling noise above 3k revs. Cheers Mike
