  1. Looking to buy a portable sat nav system for my car ie,TOM TOM or similiar Has anyone any thoughts or experience as to which one to go for. My main concern would be that it would work well in London.
  2. if i get from the states do are the arms the same as i need a n/s/f would be there o/s/f and did you get charged any import tax ect matt Get a price from jaggraveyard.com when I have ordered parts from them I have never paid import duty. Email them for a price.
  3. Good luck to you,I had sent my details but your car must have impressed them. As a matter of interest what year colour etc is yours. How about posting some pics of your car so we can have preview before you hit the big screen.
  4. My facts are right when I say a supermarket car park is not public highway despite you talking about road traffic law. If you read my previous posts I have said its not ok to do donuts in car parks or where it is a danger to the public. Do not bother to apologise about getting your facts wrong as it is not necessary as I feel I have made my point. Pulling donuts in a car park will get you arrested or in trouble with the law....therefore it is against the law....which means, regardless of your opinions....IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE TO DISCUSS THIS ON THE PUBLIC FORUMS!!!! So please don't pi$$ off other members by being petty about whether or not mods have the right to lock/delete such topics!! Your point in all of this is obviously to stir things up...otherwise, if it wasn't, you would have just kept quiet! Frankly, it's this kind of attitude and small mindedness that brings LOC down....so either post your thoughts in GOLD or take your opinions elsewhere...oh and thats from a non-moderator because it's pi$$ing me off too!!! People might not have agreed with what I said and have said so,however they did not call people mindedness or modify words to escape the profainity filter as you have done. With regard to the topic it was over as far as I was concerned before you got on your soap box.

  6. "I was trying to do donuts with my IS300 in the supermarket car park earlier" Posted @ 01.22PM" - In case you didn't know, a supermarket is a PUBLIC place, and being posted @ 1.22pm I don't think the car park was closed for private do you ? Admission for what ? As someone who has been a highway engineer for over 30 years a supermarket car park is not public highway but somewhere where the public has access too in case you do not know. What I did say was that if the guy wants to do donuts off the public highway and not to cause danger to members of the public which included supermarket car parks whats the problem that you need to lock the post. Why dont you admit that you dont like the guy I suspect for his previous posts which I do not necessary agree with. All I am saying like others is that you should have good reason to lock posts and not have the attitude of "if you dont like it go elsewhere", as we are all grown men here who dont need being treated like kids by being told "this is a private club" as the only answer. No doubt you moderators will not admit you were wrong and will all stick together but if you carry on with that attitude you will lose members.
  7. I think I have touched a raw nerve, no need to be so aggresive in your reply. I was only asking the question as someone who likes to make positive posts as there seems to be double standards. Your only answer seems to be if you dont like it clear off. I have no connection with the person who made the posts but feel members should know why there is one rule for one and another for others. Perhaps an a admission that a moderator was wrong might help.
  8. I wanted to add a reply to the topic about doing donuts and have found the topic locked by admin I presume. Now the only donuts I know are the ones which make my waistline more bigger than it is. Unless I am wrong I did not see any mention of driving on a public highway. If some one wants to do that and its not on a public highway and not where it would put people in danger like a car supermarket then thats up to him. It seems to me that people are being childish and trying to wind each other up but what happened to free speach. Without wishing to take sides I feel that its a bit heavy handed when I understand that previous threads on this subject have not been locked. What is the reason for that please.
  9. Thats very nice of you all to say you like my car. The wheels are 17 inch and are Mille Miglia Spider Plus with Toyo Proxs tyres, I did not want to lose the ride quality by going any bigger. Yes Maneesh as you know it far better value and ride for the money than your fords and vauxhalls if you get a good one. Been using the wifes toyota carina e to commute to London. Now its not a bad car and drives well, but after driving the Lexus this morning it made me appreciate what the Lexus is all about.
  10. OK contact Swift salvage at Worthing who are a specialist Lexus breakers I think the guy is John. They used to advertise on here but cant find it. If you cant track number down I am sure someone will be able to help.
  11. They've tentatively booked my wonderful -and for sale! - car, as much for the fact that it's the same colour as their battered one, as for the pristine condition mine is in! I thought they had booked you Chris.
  12. I love the great build quality of the Ls and the silky smooth engine and gearbox. How about a poll for the favourite colour choice. Not sure how to do this being thick.

  14. Thats nice of you to say. I clean the car once a week and polish with Klaase AIO every 2-3 months to keep her looking good.
  15. Its as clean inside as it is outside and you could eat your dinner off the engine. I paid £4,000 for it a year ago from a dealer and the wheels and tyres cost £1,000. Some might say that was to much but it had full history with reciepts and had done 85,000 and was mint and the best I had seen whilst looking. Better put my price up then....only done 65000 miles! Prefer the standard wheels, but then, we're all different! It's nice to have something you're proud of. I had the grey on my mk1 thats a nice colour but if had a choice would go for silver. Yes Chris you are right it is my pride and joy and drives like new with no expense spared on servicing but not at the Lexus dealer. Thinking of sourcing some 16 inch wheels and refurbing them to use in the winter.
