  1. No they said they have found leaking coolant from the gasket and are very sure its gone. This has killed my faith in the car, and Lexus, I paid a load of money for a car I thought was reliable, yea right Me and Lexus are done.
  2. I dont know about the error codes, all i can do is trust what they say the car has never over heated the coolant has always been clean and the service's all done oil's fine Ive always used Magna tec, shes's always run like a dream, it started missing on my high street at about 20 mph, its all come out of the blue. Its DONE.
  3. Ive just heard from Lexus wolverhampton who has the car, they say the head gasket has gone :shutit: going to cost well over a £1000 :shutit: Its a GS300 2002 87000 miles never thrashed ever and the last ******* Lexus ill ever buy. I get it back thursday and it will be sold. Bullit proof engines my **** ! :tsktsk:
  4. No this problem just came out of the blue, started with a small hick up and got worse fast, Ive been onto Lexus and they are picking up the car friday morning. (cant trust my locals) My old mark 1 GS did the same thing Lexus fixed it with new plug leads. I will get them to balance the wheels at the same time as my locals cant seem to do it, Lexus charge £80 for this, they say they must do all four wheels.
  5. Thanks guys for your fast reply ive reset the ECU and no change. I think the best thing to do here is call Lexus. Thanks.
  6. Bad idling, lack of power, "Malfunction indicator lamp" Flashing, VSC warning light and VSC OFF warning light coming on now and again. Book says "Take to Lexus Dealer" Before I do does anyone here know what the problem could be ?? At the moment Im thinking of going back to Merc. This is the 2nd GS that has let me down.
  7. Ive just heard from my biggest local tyre shop and they said I cannot change the tyre size on my rims, I must go to 16" for a better ride. Does anyone have 5 x 16" wheels for a GS300 SE 2002 for sale ??? with or without tyres .
  8. Im trying to change from 235/45/17 (Which I hate bumpy as hell) to a 225/55/17 a more of a standard tyre, on my GS300 SE 2002 Now Ive just been told that low profile wheel rims are not the same as standard wheel rims and I cant do it, and must change to a 16" wheel for standard tyres. :duh: I was talking to a Saab guy he has 17" wheels with Falken 225/45/17 and says they are very smooth and soft as standard tyres. emm can this be true ???
  9. Yea I looked at a Tyre Calculator and its only 3.4 mph out on the speedo which I can live with ,I do have my Origin2 to keep me in line. I might go for some 16" wheels with 225/55 on like I had on my old GS mk1, But it would be nice to keep the 17".
  10. Ive got a GS300 SE 2002 with standard 17" wheels and 235/45 ZR17 tyres. I would like change the tyres to 225/55/Z17 for a better ride, a tyre place said I should not do that. Phoned Lexus and they did not seem to know. So I thought I would ask the people who would know LOC Has anyone done this to their GS and is it OK ? Thanks Guys for any help on this
  11. Ive always found Lexus service the best ive ever had from any car company by far.
  12. Ive run a business for many many years and I see your view of what a business is is very narrow, a good business is not about unit sales but customer service and taking care of the ones you have, there are customers that a good business just dont need or want. Lexus going diesel may earn Lexus more unit sales, but are they the right type of customers ?. You will be the first to complain when Lexus service is over loaded with ex Mondeo owners and others complaining about the MPG or what ever on their new Lexus diesel, and draging Lexus service and name down to Fords level.
  13. i think you have ideas of grandure above your station lexus is middle of the road car not high end class Im guessing lexus/toyota have better people working in the marketing departmment than any other car company in the world...just look at the figures. Comparing your GS to a roller.......i think u need to realise that your driving a cheap mid range car. your cra dooesnt exactly cost 150k now does it? ← Looks like youve missed all the points of this thread mate, Try staying off the drugs.
  14. The badge is the car. I just dont want Lexus to end up like BMW. "Common as kak"
  15. I was going to buy the new GS one day, But seeing the Lexus diesel looks like the new GS Im now off the idea. I would buy a Roller if it dident look like the bleeding QE2, Rolls Royce dident go diesel to get a higher market share, I wonder why afterall they are a business. Has Lexus got some new idiots in their marketing dept or what ?. if so send them back to Toyota where they belong. I thought Toyota was the low end of their business and Lexus was the high end, that gap is now set to get smaller, at least the IS is a 6cly which put off the mondeo crowd but now that is about to change. I will just stay with my GS mrk1 at least it will never look like a bloody DIESEL.
  16. A diesel is just a invitation for all the cheap skatts to buy a Lexus. Lexus the reps car. a higher class mondao :shutit: I will say it again "There goes the brand" F*cked. Its only a matter of time.
  17. Like I say " There goes the brand " Lexus will end up like BMW one on every street corner :shutit: pumping out diesel smoke and noise. :yack: I really thought Lexus had more class
  18. This topic must of been on here before and I must of missed it. I see the new IS Diesel is out next year well there goes the brand. Has Fords took over Lexus or something, is anyone on here going to buy a 4 cly Diesel Lexus? ahh not this guy.
  19. Mine slips a little bit in frozen temps for the first 100 yards or so and then shes fine its always done it, but only in very frosty frozen mornings, any other time shes fine. I dont see it as a problem mayby needs a oil change.
  20. Got the bill this morning £60 and 3 points for 35mph in a 30 area, wow I must be such a :tsktsk: dangerous :tsktsk: driver. I ordered the Origin 2b yesterday, those RIPP OFF artists will NEVER GET ME AGAIN, :tsktsk: BASTA*DS
  21. Just orderd a Origin B2 speed trap detector, and would like to install it in the unused front ash tray, to do this the whole tray needs to come out. Does anyone know how this is done ? on the mk1 GS. Or does anyone have a better idea on installing the Origin b2 out of sight. Thanks guys for any help on this.
  22. Ok guys its the Origin B2 Solo then, costs more than most at £379.95, But I can see it is the business. These bloody traps are a real pain in the butt. Thanks guys for your info LOC does it again.
  23. Bast*rds flashed at me again, havent had the bill yet, but I think it is time to fight back with a detector. I need help guys on the one to buy there is so many on the market, I will need the sat nav type with a minimum of crap and wires on the dash. Thanks for any help on this guys.
  24. Ive had mine for 3 years now and love her to bits, fixed all the normal things brakes and cambelt, plugs, leads dib cap even changed the radiator, Ive thought of going to the Mk 2 but cannot bring myself around to change my baby. If I do, I will have to spend the money on repairs all over again on the mk 2 no dought. I just love the look of the MK1.
