RR racing USRS will solve your inner wear issues too!

There was a post only a few weeks ago about this very subject.
The consensus was to avoid them.
Personally I've had poor experience with Jags. Very nice to drive. Very expensive to run and maintain. Mine was in the shop every verse end with endless error messages.
Plus, regardless of your current age, you always look like you borrowed it off your dad!

It's probably my number one thing to do.
I think motogp beat us to winglets. In my view cannards are movable control surfaces but I'm not sure how strict the definition is. As long as people know what you're talking about I don;t think names matter - it's more important to know what it does - in the case of this RC-F I suspect it's main job is to look
Yes mate! Cool factor only I for the RCF in this case unless Lexus are getting very techie without our knowledge.
I'm gonna try the duck option and see if it works! Quack!!

I see it has a proper difuser to and those little winglets on the front bumper.
Copyright "winglets" immediately!
In the world of sticking any possible spoiler type thing on your car I believe they are called 'Canards'. Bonus points to anyone who sticks a duck (preferably French) on their front bumper and posts a photo.
P.S. Diffusers are for winners! Get one!

Wayne, just going to drop you a PM about this

Ouch! Unlucky Wayne.
Was That from the fog light covers guy in the states or from the Rusogarage guy?
Did it look like it would have fitted?
I think they say that if the box looks damaged you should bounce it with the courier to get a refund.
Not sure where you'll stand now chief.

Happy Birthday Big Rat!
Although I'm still undecided on whether I'll ever be able to talk to you again after this 'non-silver' decision.
You've changed! ;-)
Hope you've had a great day with the new toy mate.

Congrats on the purchase Big Rat! Not long to wait now.
Might want to get your cameara lens cleaned though. That silver RCF almost looks black in the photos

@NothernDan Wouldn’t be for me fella, you see this is the problem when you get old, like me, as time goes by there isn’t a design or style you haven’t seen before, and to my eye they look ‘dated’
🐀
Hahaha! Just think of 'em as "Vintage" mate

Not that i’m about to change mine but I saw a set of these in the flesh today. You can get them in any width you want in half inch increments, any size from 17 up to 22 and any offset you want, special order. They’re actually not that pricey either.
Definitely not rushing out to buy them tomorrow but what do you reckon to these on silver ISF?

This is them, they look good on the car. Might be a steal for someone in the market.

Looks like someone is selling a set of aftermarket back boxes on fleabay. By reading the ad looks like they’re not an enthusiast.
The boxes look a lot like the RR racing ones.
Can’t get the link to copy for some reason but if you search “custom ISF back boxes” they are there.£200 in fleet, Hampshire.
Photos of another potentially unknown ISF on the ad for you too Big Rat!

Get it checked
If there is any damage to the bumper carrier or support bars this could mean that in the event of a 'real' crash the car does not perform as it should and you'll end up injured.
Just had this with my wife's car.

Interestingly enough I started to look at XFR's recently as they are generally newer cars and seems to be selling for amazing prices now.
However, as you put it - you want daily driver. If I read it right that means many miles and Lexus being bulletproof reliable it is almost nobrainer to get anything else.
Stay away from the XFR!
This was my alternative choice when I got my ISF last year too. They are no more reliable than your STR would be once you start racking the miles up. Be prepared for the 'gearbox fault' limp modes at every verse end and endless misfires that both seem to be totally fine as soon as you get to the dealer and pay 'em £150 for a fruitless diagnostic check.
I loved my STR for the ride, styling and power but it cost me the same as the car cost me to own it for two years and it had every conceivable issue. From what the head tech at Solihull Jag told me in good faith, the XFR's are no better.
Get an ISF and relax for the rest of your life!

I've been told by two dealers and the warranty dept direct that as my car is 'modified' then they would not warranty it
This was when I only had an intake and filter on it although others appear to have warranties with H&S fitted so not sure what the hard and fast rule is.
Mr Warranty Dept at Lexus said that even if my brakes failed they'd not warranty them as the car had been 'modified' regardless of the fact that the mods and the failure were totally unrelated.

No it's the front lip and the carbon sides there made to fit the isf, on the fog covers I think there a replacement part I'll see in a few weeks time how it all fits.
Hi Wayne,
Did you ever get this stuff? Interested to see how it all fitted.

Picked up a copy this morning from W H Smith at Cannon Street train station. £4.40 which seems about right these days (God I sound old! Lol).
Article starts well - front cover headline reads ; "LEXUS IS-F Proper M3 rival - for five grand less".
Main article was a bit hot and cold in my opinion. Too much focus on the firm suspension (dread to think what they'd make of an early model if they thought the revised setup is too stiff! Try the OEM 2008 units!), after all, this is easily changed along with the fake exhaust tips (another point they kept going back to). Didn't like the negative 'F' for Fuji Speedway (not Raceway as quoted in one of the photo boxes despite getting it correct in the body of the article!) reference, should have been more the race car for the road than seeing this as a bad thing in my view.
It finishes off well suggesting these could be a future investment as the first true performance Lexus, but I didn't like the jabs about the carbon centre console (a unique point found in only the IS-F, which when you consider most of the interior is the same as any 220d or 250, surely should be a plus point?), nor the criticism of the gearbox. Use manual mode! No way anyone can say that's not mechanically rewarding (especially when you have a supercharger, but I digress!).
Was hoping for a bit more I think.
Read it in another WHSmith without buying it. Must admit it just sounded like the guy had read other reviews and re-written them
it could have been a much better and more original write up with not much effort.
Pete! PM’ed you a few days back about my missing USRS. Get back to me when you get a chance

I owned an S Type R for 2 years. I spent 3 times the original purchase price fixing and maintaining it.
Comfy? Yes.
Great to drive? Yes, but not like an M3 or ISF.
Reliable. Absolutely not!
I test it drove two XFR's before buying my ISF last year, one from the dealer that had supplied and maintained my STR. The service manager came out to see me after my test drive and when I asked him if I should buy the XFR he simply said "nothing has changed Mr Graham" .
If you want to get one put the same amount aside to keep it on the road.
Good luck!!
P.S. isn't that your Dad's car?
