A 928 GTS feels like an itch I’d like to scratch. Or a Ferrari 456. But then I’d also quite like a Citroen C6, an early G-wagon or a Passat r36. So I think I probably just need to have some therapy.

Made me laugh I'm exactly the same, it's getting a bit of a problem at the moment though takes me 20 mins to empty my place of work to able to start work I don't even have time to drive half of the time! I blame my parents as it all started with matchbox cars a long time ago the ones with the retro 80's looking packaging good memories.

    Hi.

If you ever do need any help with insurance then please feel free to drop me a line.

    Regards,

    Dan.

Yes definitely do they have great customer service, took me over a year to prove I wasn't involved in a crash even after I showed proof I sold the vehicle at the time of said smash, constant threats from bailiffs and around 100 rounds plus of email tennis and still not 100% sure it's resolved, my correspondence stopped when covid arrived so who knows.

That's the problem. Within reason we do expect perfection. So a Lexus main dealer has the below car for sale. Its a Lexus Used Approved vehicle at price you would expect from a Lexus dealer (ie quite high). Lets be honest it won't be perfect due to age and mileage but you'd get comfort thats its approved...but read on.

What they won't tell you is that the wonderful specimen above is the one on the right below.

I'm not sure which Northern is best  so logically it just makes sense to do the one that requires least work first!

Always best to try the easy route first,  plus you have to be really accurate when reapplying the emblems as if you get it even a mm out you know it will do your head in every time you look at it.

Mine stayed on despite a billion jetwashes, done exactly at outlined above. It's sticky stuff but does peel easily when you need to get it off.

Actually couldn't believe  how easy it was to apply when I first did it, the process is very simple.

i must have applied it wrong, didnt last me long at all at first time in second time i did it,well its still there no marks.

Errrrrr, might be missing something here gents but you plastidip the badges with the badges on the car!

After its dried for a few hours the plastidip just peels off the bodywork and breaks at the junction between the bodywork and the logos. You just mask off a square around the logos and paint the whole square.

Did mine when I first got the car but went back to standard after a few months.

No need to remove the logos to plastidip them. That's the whole point of plastidip!

Or am I missing something here!?!

Does a better job badge off as its got an exposed edge which will eventually peel off, each to there own though.

    What happened?

Got a new Battery assumed the terminals were located the same as oem  big mistake! one fusible link i think it was 23 blade fuses and a blown engine ecu, luckily there was a written off isf at a breakers so managed to get the ecu off that and coded to my car otherwise it was a looking like a rather large bill.

Guys, Granny sucking eggs and all that but please check and double check the terminal configuration before connecting up a new battery to your pride and joy, as can be seen from above some retailers do not supply the correct battery ( terminals in wrong posistion)  for your car and if you inadvertently connect it up with terminals at the back ( where they should be so as not to stretch them to the front edge of the battery! ) then you will end up in a world of pain with blown main bus bars and fuseable links = £££'s.

And if anyone needs a nice story of how this pan's out and how much it costs your more than welcome to ask myself.

Also dealers tend to lose interest in older technology as time passes

Had this exact problem happen quite a bit especially with BMW's in the past luckily there's plenty of specialist's up my way just finding the right one.

Even worse when the manufacturer invents its own tools for certain jobs and they become impossible to purchase after so many years.

I got FULL service on my RCF for under £300 at my then local Toyota dealership when I live up the north east of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
only thing they didn’t do is change my air filter as I asked them not to due to new apexi filter just fitted

That sounds like a good alternative to use.

Sincerely, good luck with your venture.  What will you be charging for an ISF/RCF service would you think?  If you did make a good name for it it would be a nice little niche and meeting point for F drivers.

Not understanding your reply though really. It was more a technical discussion than an appeal to defend Lexus prices. You seem to be treating it as an argument, where none exists.

I would happily use a specialist Indy if the Lexus warranty didn't tie me into using Lexus service.

I was simply pointing out what the expensive (no denying it) service cost is paying for.

Wouldn't dream of trying to tell someone if it is a good or bad thing. It's personal choice afterall.

Your post came across as a little cocky so that's what instigated my reply if that wasn't your intention then i do apologise i sometimes don't read between the line's.

In all honesty i wouldn't know the cost's of the service but at a quick guess it would be at least 35% cheaper as i don't have all the overheads as you mentioned in your post which is the main reason i can operate my current business rates a lot cheaper than others.

It wouldn't be just for F cars though as there's simply not enough on the road to justify more investment, i'd be aiming at performance cars in general to keep it interesting.
