  1. Right, as I said the batteyr appears fine and the Hybrid batteries show an almost full charge. Just noticed that the audio.info system is not coming on when the ignition is turned on so I wonder if there is a linked fuse and if that is the problem??
  2. been on Google trying to locate what fuse it could be - having trouble locating an answer so once again any suggestins as to what to look for would be greatly appreciated.
  3. TBH the battery appears to be fine, I'm wondering if it might be a fuse problem?
  4. Hi, Went to go to the shops today and my 400H will not start. All the usual instrument panel lights come on but not the READY light so I can't get the vehicle to start. Any ideas??
  5. I bought my 2008 RX400H in July with 100700 on the clock. As part of the deal I had the dealership replace the timing belt AND waterpump as this had not been done at the previous service (98K) and they also completed a Hybrid Health Check. I've been advised by the dealership that lexus will only carry out a hybrid check if you get the car serviced by them - possibly someone can correct me on this..... It is a fantastic car and you will not be disappointed.
  6. Many thanks guys, opened the fob up yesterday and there are 2 tiny Philips screws under the cover as well before you can replace the battery....
  7. Me again!! Over the past few days i've been having some p[roblems opening the car with the key fob. On one occasion it simply refused to open so I used the key, worrying that I might set off the alarm - it didn't, which rang alarm bells with me. The doors opened fine for a few days then back to problems. This morning the same thing happened and i pressed the lock button then the open button and that worrked. Has anyone had similar problems and if so did a change of battery sort it out or is Lexus one of those manufacturers that you have to go to a dealer to get the battery replaced? Any advice would be appreciated, as usual.....
  8. Yeh, that's basically what I've gleaned by reading other sites and their info. Looks like I need to get an auto spark to check matter for me. Many thanks to all who responded.....:)
  9. The switch next to the Power Door is just a blank on my car....
  10. There is a separate switch for the AFS, as can be seen in the 4th picture above??
  11. Hi Guys, I asked in an earlier post about the small toggle switch near the driver's door and was advised it was for the fronrt sensors. I have put this in the down (presumably the ON position) but there is still no reaction when close to a vehicle in front. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
  12. Can I ask a wee question on this topic please? I have front sensors on my 2008 RX400H, but they do not work. The small toggle switch under the fuel cap release is in the down position but I have tried it in the up position to no avail. Is there a special technique inhj turning on the fron sensors (apparently an optional extra at time of purchase), or are the just gubbed (technical term)? Burroo67
  13. Sorry, Odysseus, It is the main Lexus dealer in Glasgow. I'm delighted to say that they MOT'd the car and there are no advisories and the Hybrid Health Check passed with flying colours. The car is an absolute delight to own and drive and i'm loving every minute I spend in it. Driving down to York next week for a few days holiday and really looking forward to spending 4 hours in comfort!!
  14. Hi Guys, looking for your expert advice again. I am in the process of replacing my reversing lights and number plate lights with LED bulbs and thought I might as well do the tail and brake light bulbs at the same time. I've just spent over an hour on the internet and am none the wiser as to what bulbs to order, can you please help? Many thanks
  15. There are certainly sensors fitted to the car but they do not work at present. I'll try the toggle switch in the down position and see if that works. Many thanks for the replies - new LED number plate and reversing lights ordered along with a set of trim remover tools.
  16. Hi Guys, Noticed last night that one of my number plaate lights on the rear tailgate is out, but couldn't find an easy fix. Any links available to show the correct method of replacement as I am a bit wary with the reversing camera looking as if it is part of the unit that needs to come away to rerplace the bulb. Also, can anyone advise what the wee, circular toggle switch down near the driver's door (just to the right of the fuel cap release switch) is for as i can't find a reference to it in the driver's manual? Cheers Burroo
  17. Hi Guys, Well I finally bought the 2008 plate Lexus RX400H SE (wood) and it is a stunning vehicle. I listen to most of my music in the car so I would be obliged if someone could tell me how I get the touchscreen display to remain on 'Audio' rather that revert to the Map?
  18. Very interesting to read the discussions about "Sold as Seen". To be honest, I did think it was illegal and certainly will not be signing anything I'm not sure of in relation to the Lexus. My final roll of the dice was to go back to the dealer and offer £7600 if they would also do the water pump and service the Hybrid system and they have agreed, so I am getting the timing belt, and water pump replaced and getting the Hybrid system serviced for £350, which I believe is a great deal as my own mechanic reckoned £400-£500 to just do the timing belt. Wish me luck with my new car......
  19. HIS Jason/Rayans, The first 4 services were carried out by Lexus garages and then a further 2 services were done before the 50K service quoted above, so up to 50K it was extremely well looked after. It's the fact that it has only had 2 services in the next 50K miles that has me worried. I doubt very much if they would do a Hybrid check, possibly if they did and it came back OK I would still consider the purchase.
  20. Hiya, I posted recently that I was looking at a March 2008 RX400H, but mistakenly said 107,000 miles instead of 100,070 miles on the clock. The Lexus Showroom originally asked for £9995 and I told them I was not interested having looked at similar RX's with similar mileage. They then came back and reduced it to £8995 and again I said it was too much and offered £7100. They came back and said the lowest they could go would be £7500, but that would be their lowest - so I went back with £7250, as one does!!. They then said that at £7250 it would be "sold as seen". I went over today to pay a deposit as they had agreed to do the timing belt and put it through a MOT for the £7500. I had a look at the service book, and that is when alarm bells started ringing in my head. The salesman said the previous owner really took care of his cars and the car is certainly in great condition inside and out (he took pains to go on about how smooth the paintwork was) , but under the bonnet is a different story. The car was serviced on 24/05/15 at 50,258 miles. It was then serviced on 03/05/16 at 69,913 (so 19K + miles in one year) and the last service was on 21/02/18 at 97,836 miles (so 28K miles in 20 months). In other words the guy certainly did not take care of engine maintenance. The car has not been serviced by Lexus since the 40,000 mile service - so no Hybrid checks in 60,000 miles!! Please people, I need your expert input - am I right to walk away? I need to let them know final decision by Friday but am away early tomorrow morning for a few days and will not have access to my laptop.....
  21. Hiya, Posted before about second hand RX400H, March 2008 with 100080 miles on the clock, from a main Lexus dealer. The car is actually pretty stunning inside and out. Managed to get them down from £9995 with 1-year warranty, year's road tax and a full tank of petrol to £7250 with none of the before mentioned . They will MOT the vehicle for me but that's is - "SOLD AS SEEN". Please tell me I am doing the right thing here?
