That was the same for the females that worked in the office of the company I worked at ... all the radiators were fitted with thermostatic valves set at a comfortable temperature... but they always turned either full upper or off .. couldn't understand that the thermostatic valve turned the radiators off when up to temperature or turned them on if the room temperature dropped. When you came in on a morning you always had to reset the valves again to correct setting.

Oh, common problem. Drives me mad that people don't understand thermostats. I often get my car back from servicing with the A/C set to "LO" - ie the lowest setting... (16c?) - my question would always be do you want the temperature to be 16 degrees? If not, why set it to be that!?!?!? Aaaaaggghhhh.

My left hand side mirror use to dip downward when in reverse, but since the last service, it now moves outwards, which I don't like because I cannot see the side of the car. I have tried to change it back but cannot find how.

Anyone knows how to change it, please?

Hi! Put the vehicle into reverse while stationary and adjust the mirrors to how you'd like them to be when reversing. Then put the vehicle back into P. Ensure the L/R mirror switch is pressed into either L or R positions and that should sort you out. 🙂

@rayaans - That is what I was thinking; if they cannot get me the records, I will try the compensation or return the keys in the worst case for sure. If it was a part service history vehicle I could have bought it for a much less money from a local dealer and not from the main one. Lesson learned to treat them all with caution and don't believe a thing they advertise. I was thinking about getting the extended warranty package they offered (not Lexus), now I am wondering how much of that can be trusted in the event of a claim.

    Thank you.

Get it serviced by Lexus and then benefit from Lexus Relax until up to 2029 (if you have it serviced annually by Lexus).

I have a squeaky/creaky noise from the back of the car that I am almost certain is the rear parcel shelf flexing as the car moves.  Short of removing the parcel shelf, I'm not sure what I can do about it?

Simon, if you haven't fixed this yet, let me know, I can probably resolve it for you!

Hey guys. Does anyone here have the illuminated door sills on the NX300h?

I'd like to upgrade mine and wonder if they only light up when u open the door, or do they also light up when doors a closed and headlights are on? So that you see them while driving?

    Hope somebody can help.

Hi, I have the illuminated sills in my NX 2019 and they are on whenever the ignition is on or the doors are unlocked and you're "getting in or out". So yes they are on when you're driving along but while not impossible to see them, they're there if you look for them.

Has it ever blown open steve..? When the car is unlocked to open the flap simply press down RH side and it will spring open at least thats what mine does..when refuelled just push the flap back to its normal position And you should feel a little click which holds it shut.. Do You Think we.ll get a job At Nasa...lol

... No little click which holds it shut... but no it hasn't actually blown open. See wharfhouse's message above. THAT'S what's happening...! Cheers for your comments 👍

I have an IS 300h but IIRC from courtesy cars I've had the fuel filler flap is same on NX 300h. I can confirm that on my IS 300h the following:

    - car unlocked while parked - press on the fuel flap and it's pushed out for ease of opening by the plunger - push closed against the plunger spring - this works like kitchen cupboard doors though - the plunger simply aids opening - you can also just put your finger nail behind the flap and open it without needing to press it first if the doors are unlocked

    - car locked when parked - a small bar (sited below the plunger) moves across into a hole in the flap to lock the flap when the doors are locked so the flap can't be opened at all when the doors are locked

    - while driving - assuming you have the doors set to lock when you move into D / drive off then this will also lock the fuel flap as well and so it can't open on its own while driving until you stop and put the car in P at which time the doors and fuel flap unlock

That's how mine behaves - hope that all makes sense.

And that ^^ is exactly what I'm seeing too. I'm really surprised that when the car isn't locked, nothing really holds the flap shut! Cheers 👍

Steve ...When the car is locked you CANT Force the fuel compartment open as a round bar protrudes to lock the car when unlocked the bar is retracted and does not hold the flap shut..Hope that helps.. Regards ..Ron

Yes, it's when it's unlocked I'm trying to confirm whether anything holds it shut AT ALL... as if not, nothing really stops it from almost blowing open!

    Cheers

Steve.. Have just checked my fuel cap lock and The fuel compartment lid will definately NOT open when the car is locked...So when i press the unlock button on the key fob i can hear clearly an unlock sound coming from The fuel cap lid Keeping the lid open i then locked the car and can see the mechanism working just directly above the conical rubber micro switch which monitors opening and closing the compartment....I had a similar problem with my Skoda Octavia and had to pour boiling water on to the mechanism to get it to work WD 40 might also help here..Eventually the problem cleared of its own accord.. You might want to try that ...Remember the purpose of the locking mechanism is to protect the fuel system from anyone putting any foreign material in to your system  I would definately get this looked at ..Any mechanic worth his salt would be able to fix this for you..Hope that helps..Failing all else take it to your Lexus Dealer  Regards..R

Hi Ron, thanks for looking. My lock does work when I lock the car. But if your car is locked, can you just pull the flap open with your fingers or do you have to push it in to get it to pop out? IE. Is it held in place at all when your car is not locked? Mine isn't, only when I lock the car.

  11. Evening all. Was washing the car today and realised the fuel filler cap is basically not holding itself shut. On investigating the mechanism, I always thought that it had a push to release latch which locks when you lock the car, but it seems that there is no real push to release, all the pushing action does when the car is unlocked is make it pop out for you to grab. Actually you could just use your fingers if you wanted as it doesn't 'latch'.

Is everyone else's like this or am I missing something? Shouldn't it latch shut normally?

Thoughts on a postcard please... 👍

The end devices don't have enough computing power, storage, battery life etc to perform full speech recognition. All they do is listen out for a few key words (which is why you are limited to what the trigger word/phase can be), and then send the rest to the cloud for processing. It is very easy to see that traffic being sent to the cloud with network sniffers and therefore these companies will get found out very quickly if that was happening (as was the case with LG and their TVs some years ago and they had to issue a firmware fix).

And indeed the assistants (well, Google anyway) have been sniffed, and they DO NOT send anything to the servers until the wake words are heard. They are always listening, but not always listening "in".

  13. +1 on the Vaseline. I had three sensors replaced and the problem recurred earlier this summer in very heavy rain, I got a tissue and could actually absorb water from the tiny gap around the sensor. I did it until no more came out on the tissue and applied the Vaseline - and haven't had a problem since. I will reapply to all sensors - it's the way forward! Bonkers they can't fix it though. Lexus - REALLY!? 🙄

Oh man! I'm so happy! I just put fabric tape on the striker....and ..the sound,....it's....GONE!

I will sleep like a baby tonight

I am so pleased that's sorted it for you. Interesting to me too that you didn't have to adjust the striker's position (I DID wonder how the dealership did it, because I couldn't see a way to do it either - perhaps they didn't!!) - fabric tape appears to be the fix. Annoying though. 👍

  15. Hi Tim, your experience is almost identical to mine. Sounds the same and we've tried the same things.... However, I currently have it sorted by my dealership...

They identified the problem as being caused by the tailgate needing tightening against the striker. They also put some fabric tape around the striker, and, so far so good... not a creak in 2 months - including a long trip to Cornwall and back. I've declared it resolved, and at least have a very good idea where to go if it happens again.

Hope that helps you. Let me know!

  16. Some people in this thread seem to be getting hung up on this "you get AA membership" thing. You don't. You get Lexus Roadside Assistance (which is provided by the AA, but that's beside the point). You don't get an AA card, but through the post I got a LRA card and (I think slightly later on), a flyer from them asking if I wanted another member of my family covered. The cover for both people is any car you're driving or a passenger in. My partner was sent a LRA card a week after I returned the form. This was at the end of 2019 for me after I bought my NX.

The cover lasts the length of the warranty and if you want to continue afterwards you have to renew, as has been said. They didn't remind me and in actual fact I just continued the actual AA membership that I had suspended for 3 years when I bought the car in 2019!

Well, it has been nearly a year (9 months roughly) since I last posted in this thread and two days in a row, I have had this error again.

annoyed a bit. I think this goes to show it’s a hardware fault and not a software fault? This never happened with my last IS.

I would say, definitely a design issue with the sensors.
