  1. 18s are def too small. Dont want to see too much of a gap between the tyres and the arches! Those rims are very nice! Im sure 20x8.5 will be big enough. Im just looking for the appearance, so the width of the tyre isnt as important. Am in Hong Kong at the moment, so not too sure what the prices for Rims and tyres are.
  2. i dont think the SC430 doors are too high. i prefer it like that. I find cars such as BMW 3 series too low, esp as im 6'3, it looks silly with my shoulders so much higher above the door. In the sc430, you sit much lower like the new MB CLK's....feels bit more sporty. Performance of the car is pretty good i think. Acceleration is more than enough especially when you flick that pwr button by the gear lever! i love it!
  3. I think 20X8.5 on the front and 20x10 on the back would be about it, although Ive heard you can get 20x11 on the back no probs. Lowering wont make much difference.. you will still get them on, just the ride will be very hard. Anything bigger then 20" and they bend very easily (I bent one on the Range Rover). You wont get a 22" on an sc430. ← thats cool. was looking to put on either 19's or 20's. Had a sc430 for about a month from work and they were on 18s and still looked a little bit too small. As long as i dont have to make any modifications to the car, and that 20's go on fine, then thats fine. Just gotta wait for the right one to come along now!!!!
  4. Get one... i been driving one for about a month now! i love it! Had to give it back to work now, but im thinking about buying one myself. The car is thirsty..especially the way i drive, but its a stunning car and drives excellent (well in Hong Kong anyways).
  5. I'm looking to buy a soarer 430 in the next month or so, but if i do, i have to get new rims for it as the standard ones are horrible!!! whats the largest size before having to modify arches etc.. did you need to lower your suspension to fit them in?
  6. Just bought a '02 Windom and although i like the looks of it, im not too keen on the standard alloys. Tried looking for some pictures of modified new shape ES300/Windoms, but can only find the old shape. Anyone with any webpages to give me ideas on how my car could look?
  7. Not just the LS430 that has the Mark Levinson audio package. Its in the GS and SC as well.
  8. lol, mate i wasnt having a go at you! Im only thinking about importing from HK, because i was going to HK anyways for the summer to see the family, and i was thinking that i could buy it here, use it for a month or so and then ship it off to UK! also, it means, if i think it needs any modding, i can get the parts over here cheaper than UK.
  9. Why would i buy one in Hong Kong? Maybe because i have a house here, and i live here for 6 months of the year? Im looking to get rid of my old car and trade it in for a new one (altezza) You say its cheaper? But at the moment, with the pound sterling so strong, the prices of buying a car in britain is higher. An altezza that scott had was going for over 11K i think, but when ive been looking at cars in HK, i can buy the car, drive it around HK when im here, and then ship it back to UK when i leave for similar money!
  10. yeh, born and bred. But, with english blood in me as well.
  11. hey thanks mark for the support! haha! I just hate it when peeople think they know more than they actually do!
  12. I know he is trying to help, but with him saying "WRONG" and assuming that the majority of cars in HK are totalled and crap is just B.S! If it happens in HK, it will happen in every other country in the world that imports used cars. I just feel as though he thinks it only happens in Hong Kong. There are many reputable dealers in hong kong, and some not so good, which again is the same in every country, so it is a matter of being careful and making sure you know what you are buying!
  13. So you are saying every Altezza i look at will be a total piece of crap? So EVERY Altezza on the streets of hong kong are actually "totalled" cars?? HK imports so many used cars from Japan, skylines, imprezas, altezzas....everything! I seriously cant see how you think that they are all crap. I do not think all the imported cars from japan are in the state you say they are, or else no one would be importing them. Its the same with imported cars in UK, you just have to make sure you pick a good one! Its not as though every imported car in britain is in immaculate condition! Either way, if you know what to look for when buyin the car, you shouldnt have too many problems. Im not going to buy a car without any car history am i? thats just stupid! Olli, u like Initial D?? ugh! i hate it! You can pick up the dvds over here for dirt cheap!
  14. Yeh, id prefer manual, just cos theres less to go wrong! It was just the fact that this Tip model came with so many good mods, whilst the manual one came pretty standard! Nevermind! Ill keep lookin aroung. Why you tryin to sell that black altezza then scott? haha! its tip tronic isnt it? You *****! Just joking! Let me know if you are getting any new stock. Im back in UK mid-end of august.
  15. Yeh you the change the gear on the wheel. I just dont know whether its worth going tiptronic for the sake of savin money on upgrades because the tiptronic car has had some good modifications done...ones that id want done anyways. Or if its not worth going tip and staying with manual but having to fork out more to modify it. Im in HK all the time, so i pick up some good stuff! haha!
  16. Im in hong kong at the moment, looking for a new car to import in, and have seen 2 RS200's. The first one is a pretty much standard car with trd bodykit, and no other modifications but is manual transmission. The other one is tiptronic, but has had some modifications, i.e strut braces, antil roll bars, exhaust and adjustable suspension. Both of them have the same interior specs with a trick lil DVD pop up screen which is cool but i just dont know which is better?!?! Are there any problems with the tiptronic? Im used to using tiptronic in my A4, which is alright i spose, but im just wondering how fast the shifts are etc in the Altezza etc.... If i intend to modify the car more, will the auto gearbox be able to cope etc...
  17. Ha! That harrier in the modelista body is from hong kong. might see it soon
  18. There are a lot of Altezzas in HK, in fact tthey out number the is200/300, so im sure there will be plenty of choice! im not particularly looking forward to gettin all the paper work n all that done, but i have only seen one altezza here for sale in the spec i want, so i thought id get more of a choice over in HK. I was just thinking of getting a company to carry out the necessary work to pass the test and register it!?!?!
  19. Yeh, well ive got a car in HK and ive installed a basic ice set up in that and it comes with international warranties and english manuals, so it should be fine! I havent got my Altezza yet, but im going to HK to see if i can pick one up there, or at least see what they got to offer!
  20. Yeh i was planning to ask them, but just in case they weren't too sure! I go back to HK very often, and have seen loads of brits n italians buying stuff from the ICE shops, so im guessing it should be fine! Its just Japan stuff that doesnt work i think I am in Cardiff...pretty much near the city centre, just a 5min walk from town! In uni at cardiff as a matter of fact!
  21. Im flying to hong kong in a couple of weeks to look at what cars are they to import for myself and was wondering whether or not i am able to use any of the ICE (ie. head units, touch screen dvds etc...) if i buy it from there? I can understand the Sat Nav not working, but wha bout the rest? Any ideas?
  22. Im looking to buy a harrier mk1, and just wondering if there are any tuning parts for it? suspension, alloys, after market exhaust etc?? Am going to HK soon, in early june, to source a new car to import and pick up any other parts for whatever car i end up buying!
  23. What tezz's have u got for sale?? or have you sold them?
  24. Im looking for a Aristo with tt engine. I have been looking at many of the importing websites but cant find aristos. Any help please? Whats the diff between aristo and vertex model?
