  2. I guess I should explain myself. First of all, this isn't for street use. This is for track use. Second of all, learning car control on the track isn't easy when you're being saved every time the back end slips. So "5A Automotive cable" with a longer length will support more resistance than 5A? It doesn't seem very simple since the cable says 5A and doesn't mention length. With a diameter of 2.5mm, and with AWG equivalent diameter being 10 AWG, it means the same diameter wire can hold 30A. Am I missing something? 😄
  3. Hey guys, I'm tired of VSC ruining my fun and I'd like to disable it. So I've been trying to figure this out over the last few days after reading this: https://www.my.is/threads/how-to-disable-is300-vsc-trac.578673/ The problem is, wire gauges and ratings... I just don't get the American system (AWG), it makes NO sense to me. I went to my local parts store and bought some 5A (2.5mm diameter) cable, but then realised there's a 10A fuse in the ECU-IG circuit. But the guys in that thread I linked are using 16-22AWG at a certain length to control to Amps? I'm totally lost since I don't know a whole lot about car electrics. Here in the UK we seem to go by cable rating without a care for length of the cable etc.? Does anyone have any idea? Thanks, Paul

  7. Well, here it is! Since I upgraded from a 200 to a 300, I had both cars outside the house for a while. So, I decided to make a video explaining the differences between these two. I'm hoping this is the end of all IS200 vs IS300 threads! 😄 I tried to be as accurate as I possibly could, so please excuse any minor errors. Short answer... the IS300 is best. Enjoy: Feel free to SUBSCRIBE! I'll be building this IS300 to transform it into a 600whp MONSTER! Having never built an engine before or manual swapped anything etc. I hope that everyone will be able to track my project and learn from my mistakes should they choose the same path. 🙂

  9. Pretty sure it's 2.25", same as the IS200. The backboxes are the same and they're both 2.25". Not sure about the rest of the exhaust but the IS200 has 2.25" all the way through, I imagine the Altezza is no different.

It's an absolute GOLD MINE since I plan on doing pretty much everything you've done except... on YouTube. This will be one of my main inspirations and guides for when I tackle the same kind of stuff.   13. Not a main dealer. Independent dealer 😟 Edit: By this I mean, the guy who owns the place I bought the car. He has 2 spare keys and keeps saying he'll post them. Not happening.

  15. Having an issue at the moment with getting the spare keys from the dealer. I've asked him like 5 times and he keeps saying "yeah yeah I'll send 'em first thing tomorrow." It's been two weeks. So is there a way to change the locks or reprogram keys or something? I have the master key at the moment. Do I go to Lexus? Go to a garage? I called Lexus and they said they can't get the locks... same with the auto locksmith I called. Help please 😁

  17. Seems like a good kit. No Chinese turbo crap. I'll contact them closer to to time. First thing is BC coilovers, then wheels & tyres, brakes, HKS exhaust, and maybe even a manual swap before turbo. But I'm not sure what trans to go with. Between a J160, CD009, R154... but the R154s are getting ridiculous in price now.
  18. Not sure actually. There's no body kit. And the Lexus book just has "IS300 a" written in the model section. How can I find out?

  20. Holy ****. I just want 300 at the wheels! 😄 Of course, I would love 1000hp but there's no way I have the budget for that and this is my only car. I just want it to be reliably boosted. I'll put in a J160/CD009 and boost it to 300whp. No idea how yet. A goal for 2022 I think 😁
