  1. Hi Kevin, I could possibly be interested although I’m not specifically looking for a Carbon.I’m a private cash buyer. If you could PM me all the details of your car some time I would be grateful. Thanks, John.
  2. Interesting...if correct the 2 ones from 2018 must be the two which are on AT...and one has just sold and the other, allegedly,is a lemon. Not much scope for buying a 2018 one then !
  3. The 2018 grey low miles one,#5 in my original post, has been marked up sold today. He who hesitates,etc....I thought I would have time to contact them next week....need to keep patient. Random question...there always seem to be 2015 examples for sale, and some 2018 and later ones, but I’ve not seen any 2016/2017 ones...strange!
  4. There is another RC F for sale, but on eBay,not on AT. 2015 Blue with one owner and only 7k miles. Looks to be a very nice car but priced rather strong at £37500 or offers.
  5. Pleased you have sold it so quickly.A dealer with a fancy showroom will screenprice it at £35k. Looking forward to reading of your ownership experiences.
  6. I see another RC F Carbon has appeared on AT. 2018, low miles and priced at £40k Slightly beyond my price range and the yellow and black colour scheme over the top for my taste...looks to be a decent enough car though, and very suitable for an extrovert 😀
  7. Since all your tyres are losing pressure I think air may be leaking because the tyre beads are not sealing on the rims. This is a very common fault with older alloys because corrosion occurs in that area which breaks the airtight seal. Tyre fitters are well aware of this problem and they remove the tyres and brush on a special sealant on this area. In my experience this works for at least a year, but a more permanent solution is to rub down the area on the wheels to remove the corrosion and then apply paint to the area...which is obviously a lot more involved that just getting a tyre place to reseal the rims!
  8. Agree with all of the above. The only comment I would make,as someone currently biding my time looking for a RC F in the £30 to £40k range ( and with no p/ex and cash ready) is that if I did go for a private purchase it would be a lot more attractive to me if it had a good chunk of the Lexus used warranty remaining. Two years for £995 isn’t it ?
  9. The solar orange is a striking colour, but I dare say rather too striking if you are older, the dividing line being age 30-40? I’m far,far past those figures 🙂
  10. Not for me,but for someone who wants a Carbon that looks to be a great buy.Hope it sells quickly for you.
  11. You will be OK with that on normal paint that has a glossy lacquer top coat...if you used it on a matt finish paint it would go patchy. Having said that, the Megs compound is abrasive so I would only be using it once a year and using the wet wax stuff ( my preference) to maintain shine and water beading. Hope this doesn’t start an argument about car detailing ( or cleaning as I call it in my old fashioned way!) there are a million products on the market and just as many opinions as to how to do it.😀
  12. That’s an interesting link to the special paints. I see there is also an article on Mercury grey.In my current quest for an RC F that info is enough to put me off that colour...special washing techniques,no waxes to be applied, cannot be cut and polisted to rectify minor blemishes...no thanks! That rules out two of the cars on AT at the moment...having said that the cars don’t look to have a matt finish in the sale pictures...are there two Mercury greys, one matt and one glossy?
  13. Sod’s law applying in that the Nottingham one is the closest to me but also the,err...least desirable. That car should be bound for the auctions,I’m really surprised that a Lexus dealer is trying to retail it
  14. Looking to buy ,so first post on here,so any comments would be appreciated. Looking at the ones on AT at the moment: 1/The previously wrapped one at Nottingham already discussed in a another thread...bargepole job! 2/The blue one in Kent, already seen and rejected by a forum member...not for me either. 3/The Carbon one just advertised not on AT but here...looks to be a good car and should sell easily, but the extra carbon bling is not really for me. 4/The 2018 grey one with the plus pack at £37450 (I could just about stretch to high £30s) is interesting but it seems the last service was early 2019 so I assume the Lexus warranty has gone, and I read elsewhere on here it has been passed between dealers...so alarm bells are ringing. 5/This leaves the other grey one,low mileage and I assume up to date on servicing and still under warranty.Appears to have been for sale for some time and I haven't a clue if the price is right. So although the last one probably has most appeal, especially if they would take an offer ( I have no p/ex),I'm undecided what to do.There are not many to choose from! I don't need to buy right now,so perhaps I should just wait until some more come on the market? I'm getting old and indecisive!!!
