  1. That is actually a good option thanks, they work out cheaper than two non genuine bushes....providing there is no import duty etc. They do appear to be a common part across all the models and seem to be interchangeable from the numbers ive cross referenced.
  2. So i have a GS300 and it requires lower control arm bushes, i am in a bit of a dilemma of what parts to go for, febi bilstein/blue print bushes can be had for around £60 each although i have found whiteline poly style bushes for £80 for the pair, ive added the link to these below. https://ukwhitelineperformance.com/collections/all/products/w53625-control-arm-lower-inner-rear-bushing Interested what bushes you guys have used if you have the febi/blue print ones how have you found them Or better still if you have poly bushes has it made it worse in terms of harshness on the road?
  3. As somebody else has said possibly abs sensors? The only other electronic component on the nearside front that comes to mind is the headlight leveling sensor or connecting rod? Maybe this has been confused as a stabilty control sensor? Also there is a similar sensor on the rear although i think the rear is fitted to the nearside but i may be wrong. Just a thought do you have the suspension that can be switched under the armrest from normal to sport? I think its called active suspension, just thinking if a control sensor on the top of the shock is missing? A bit more info from the mot tester is needed i think as to what is actually missing.
  4. I replaced my two front shocks about 18 months ago and used Buycarparts.co.uk, they sell KYB shocks who are the manufacturer of the original shocks fitted from the factory. Also i have replaced my bonnet and boot struts and used the same website, i went for the Monroe branded struts there around £10 each For the cost of the bonnet struts i would replace in pairs, and as for shock absorbers well that is a whole argument in itself i bet there is arguments for both sides if you google searched it but personally i would say yes. For what its worth if we had cars in warranty and we went the dealer for a leaking shock under warranty only the defective leaking shock would be replaced. Hope that helps.
  5. I have just done this myself this weekend with a DAS-6 DA polisher, i also went the route of a DA as ive never machine polished before and read the horror stories of a rotary in the hands of someone inexperienced although i think you would have to be a bit careless to cause damage. Also a DA is less likely to cause holograms. I used meguiars ultimate compound, then meguiars ultimate polish followed by meguiars ultimate liquid wax, its cheaper to buy all 3 as a kit rather than individually and are available in halfords for about £50 for all three. I used the ultimate compound with a lake country orange pad, i also tried applying the ultimate polish with a white pad with varying success so decided to apply by hand as it was drying to quick and is a nightmare to remove when dry. Obviously before polishing etc i washed, snow foamed, clay barred, tar removal, and used iron out to get it as clean as possible. All this does seem over the top but preparation before polishing is important and i think the results speak for themselves. Also my paint was in a bit of a state i dont think the pictures show how bad it actually was. I wouldent be suprised if this was the first time it has ever been polished since it was made in 2005.
